@@aarmancuda3570 True, but I think it would have given a clearer picture of the AAR as a whole if he had mentioned the entire production run. Otherwise, you're like the guy going "but it's 1 of 200! It's x color and has a AM/FM/8-track, and the left window is difficult to roll up. How many had that?"
@@TimberWolf762 no Iam not..I really don't care about how a car is optioned..I just like the 4 spd cars better since I happen to own one..more fun to drive banging that pistol grip through the gears..
I bought a '70 AAR cuda, yellow with black stripes, and I notice the common warp in the hood, I could see my spark plugs without lifting the hood and I had two hoods replaced. God, I wish I had kept it.
That's true. Many, if not most, AAR hoods are warped/bowed-up and don't match the fender top profile very well. I know mine is bowed-up and was that way when I picked it up with 9 miles on the odo.
I used to have a 340 in my VC Val, but ut was unrully, as soon as i fitting a worked 318 it was a different beast altogether. Much more refined more a cruiser than a racer.

Glenn awesome vid and nice car. Just wanted to ask you mate what was it like driving a manual on the other side of the car? Did it feel awkward? Reason im asking is i want to import a 1970-72 buick gs from the states. Cheers.
Hi Nick! It's no problem at all! Go for it! After a day or so of driving it becomes second nature, and I've owned plenty of LHD cars including Camaro's and Mustangs. Those Buick GS are an awesome thing.
@@GlennEverittMasterofMachines Thanks Glenn. I have seen a few good clean examples in the US. Can get a really nice clean one including shipping for less than (30k- aud) Much cheaper than our Muscle cars over here. Thanks again mate.
The carbies are not original, they should have centre pivot float bowls and the outboard carbies do not have metering blocks and are vacuum operated, not by mechanical linkage.
Who knows why Aussies persist in driving on the left. It deprives them of many great limited-production cars that are not available in right-drive versions.
This is a pony car, not a muscle car. Its chassis is more compact. Pony cars could go around corners as well as drag race. To keep costs down, Chrysler’s new-generation Challenger is built on a mid-sized, not a compact chassis. It is too big. And it lacks the original’s fuselage design, where the rocker panels fold underneath the body.
That Carb setup you have on there is an abortion...looks to be the GM setup as the fuel inlets are on the wrong side, wrong float bowls on the carbs, no vacuum canisters on outboard carbs, and the linkage is all wrong for Mopar. WTF mates???? Why would you do that the right stuff is still all available...
You’re correct. These are the wrong carbs. These are GM carbs. The mopars look tougher with the center hung float bowls and the big vacuum pots on the side.
And the fender tag shows this was a light green metallic, formally called “Lime Green Metallic” with code FF4, but not the lime green everyone thinks of for Mopar in 1970 which was “Lime Light” code FJ5. Great color change for this AAR to orange and the interior color change from F8 - Dark Green Vinyl to X9 - Black Vinyl was also a good choice. Somebody hated Green on Green. 😆
I do believe on the Plymouth it was called a 6 barrel and on the Dodge it was called a six pack
Bought mine in July 1973, still own it. Vitamin C
bought mine in 2000, (real Vitamin C, 4 spd car) and still own it..
The car is absolutely beautiful.
Love Chrysler V8’s. They really knew how to get monster power.
Agreed. They built awesome engines for sure.
Perfect video, guys! Simply the best Pony car of all time! That sound of the 340 Six Barrel masterpiece is really magnificent!
Thanks so much. Yes, it doesn’t get much better than a Cuda!
@@GlennEverittMasterofMachines Absolutely!;-)
Beautiful car !
They actually built 2,724. I ran a '70 Challenger with a swapped-in 340 Six Pak and it was a beast in a street race.
but only 1120 4 speed cars.. rare machines...

What a beautiful car
I think you had too much fun doing that story Glenn. Love a Cuda and didn't know about AAR. Great work mate.
I sure did Rob. Haha! Yes, that year Cuda is one of my favourites for sure.
sounds great

I own one too but totally it AAR Cuda in 1972

In “Bullitt,” if the bad guys were driving this instead of the black Charger, Steve McQueen’s Mustang GT with 390 four-barrel would have been TOAST.
Mopar all day ! Mopar or no car !

you are correct.. those carbs are off a 67 Corvette Tri power set up..

I agree..the new challenger is on Diamler's old Mercedes platform..making it too heavy and too broad in size
Why are you driving on the wrong side of the road?
Wrong side of the road? This is Australia. We drive on the left side. We have American cars here too. . .
