It shows the true level of intelligence of these parrots, that they aren’t just copy cats but understand the meaning behind the words they’re using too.

I have nothing but total admiration for anyone that takes care of a parrot / parakeet. It's full-on, 24/7 with eyes in the back of your head - total dedication if you're going to do it properly. Kiwi is stunning and is clearly the focus of your attention. Damn good job.
Among other things, you need eyes in your butt. And feet. So no one gets crushed. And every single time you open a door, the pre-thought has to be, "Where's the bird?" No one without these qualities should be allowed to be owned by a bird. They are unacceptable servants.
The unfortunate thing is when a species of animal becomes so popular everyone wants one but finds out they take time and lots of work and attention which they're too lazy to do so there becomes lots of neglected or abandoned pets....and these birds need time and attention to care for them correctly.
I have a rosiecollis and they actually go full shutdown mode when it is sleep time and wake you right near sunrise, honestly useful if u work mornings.

Lol my bird's favorite saying is "bat bird". He'll say whenever he wants attention (it works!), when we raise our arms up, and in the morning before we let him out of his cage. He'll climb up above his cage door, flip upside down, wings spread wide, and yells "bat biiiiiiirrrrrd"

Yes and by a wide margin, Parrots can actually speak with intention of direct verbal communication. Mishka the husky coincidentally sounds a bit like a human when she is howling. But all she thinks she is doing is howling, she has no idea that she sounds like a human.

Tamara has done a fantastic job with training him and teaching him all those cute and funny words and "expressions"! Watching the two of them together warms my heart and puts a big smile on my face! :)
