WARNING Long Personal thoughts. Out of all the cast members, i believe Raggeta is a mother in the real world. She exhibits a positive and caring attitude and has intrusive thoughts of how never leaving could be a terrible outcome. Regardless, if rags remembers being a mother. Being a good mom would mold your personality into trying to keep calm in stressful situations and protective of the young and innocent like pomni. She might want to continue acting like a mother even if she doesn't know why. Equally not being able to see loved ones again that she has forgotten about could lead her to having a motive to leave BUT if she lets herself become ABSTRACTED she lose the ability to reason and escape will become harder, perhaps impossible. Even her avatar; a patch-up, lanky but cute childs' doll might be a reflection of what her kids like to play with. And she wanted them to love her the way they loved that doll. Therefore she is a stuffed doll.
I imagine Pomni was someone who wanted to escape her previous life and be someone new, fresh start and perhaps chose the avatar herself for the circus theme and figuring it mean she’d get to be an artificial fool jester not knowing she’d end up becoming C&A’s natural fool jester to test out whatever they’d want from all this
Ragatha was probably a daycare-worker in real life, who saw a kid-friendly looking game, she wanted to use for her activities in her job. So she wanted to test it, to see if it isn't a shoddy indie mascot-horror, like the last game, she wanted to show to the kids. (their parents filed lawsuits against her employer, last time, because the seemingly cute Unicorn game was actually a horror game with gore.) But as soon as she tests it, she gets sucked into the game and now tries her best to cheer up her fellow humans, trying to apply her knowledge of dealing with kids to the people around her. She does come off as if she's "the mom" of the group.
Theory 1: Pomni entered the game on purpose to try to rescue someone but tragically forgot and gave in to self-preservation instincts. Theory 2: The game was made to train the AI for the characters from Murder Drones and this is a prequel. (Sort of hoping this is its own thing, but it could potentially happen?)
It slowly starts too make a little bit more sense the more you think of it since bubble is a bubble which you’d expect too be frigid and unexpecting but if you look at his teeth their share and could very easily destroy you since nobody would except a little guy behind everything

My theory was that Ragatha was a struggling single mother who decided to take up a position as beta tester for the Digital Circus game to get her daughter a doll she wanted for Christmas. Instead, her consciousness ended up being sucked into the game along with the rest of them. That's why her digital avatar is a ragdoll and she mothers the other characters, all for a child that was once her entire world, who she can no longer remember.
It’s hard to top this backstory for pomni, but I have a theory for Jax’s backstory. I think that Jax was originally just a trouble making intern who just wanted to joke around with people for fun and not have to worry about responsibilities and such, so he breaks into the old basement to see what’s down there and if he can sell it without the company knowing, and it leads to him finding and getting sucked into the amazing digital circus; where he was of course terrified, but soon realized he got exactly what he wanted, to joke around with people and not worry about any responsibilities or consequences. Edit: Jax not caring about anyone in the game and just doing what he wants like putting centipedes in ragatha’s room points to this possibly being the case.
High strung, easily triggered by many things, anxious, keeps to herself, socially awkward? In other words, Pomni is an autistic who is being harassed and tormented by people who take advantaged of her disability to make content of her being frightened and making a fool of herself. The connection you make of "Natural Fools" at the beginning makes me think that these people are trying to make her into a lolcow (or at least given the treatment of one). Maybe I just really want her to be autistic because the more representation, the better. Another connection I made myself is that if she is autistic, the color scheme and the role of the jester probably comes from people both infantilizing autism as well as making it out to make them seem like fools. The primary colors are a common color scheme used with those puzzle pieces Autism Moms™ like to parade around (even though the puzzle pieces have a deeply ableist history that date back to 60 years). So it's like she's turned into a cartoonish and symbolic personification of what non-autistics (or at least ableists and those that still have internalized ableism and don't realize it) view autism as. If this theory is correct, they could have used that bloody puzzle piece pattern on her costume, but that would have been giving away too much.
I do agree with your analysis that she likely has some kind of disorder/condition that leads to social alienation, and that is why she is a jester or "fool." People don't take her troubles seriously because they don't understand what it's like to be in her shoes. However, I didn't see enough evidence to indicate she is on the autism spectrum SPECIFICALLY, and considering that just about ANY kind of disorder/condition can cause others to look down upon you and make fun of you, I think it's very open-ended as to what it could be. My bet is that she at LEAST has some kind of generalized anxiety disorder, but it's very possible she has something else with it, so who knows? Regardless, I hope that even if she isn't technically neurodivergent, her story is still one that we neurodivergent people can relate to. And if she turns out to be canonically neurodivergent, I'm very excited to see more representation!
Two theories: One: what if every character is a reference to a circus act? Pomni is a jester, Jax is the animal act, Caine is a ringmaster etc. Two: What if Jax didn’t want to leave because he was deaf in the real world and wants to be able to hear. That’s why he’s a rabbit in this digital world. (The ears)
I've heard people say that, but they seem to forget when he says "if there was a way out, I'm pretty sure we'd have all left by now", which heavily implies that he'd want to leave if given the opportunity. It's just that his desire isn't nearly as strong as Pomni's. @@Minetendo_Fan
I think Jax’s might have been jerkish daredevil, who put on the headset as a Dare, he picked the avatar who is polar opposite of him a cute, cuddly rabbit and accidentally got trapped there
The thing is that Pomni might’ve been autistic too, since Gooseworx confirmed that she doesn’t like to be touched… maybe it was painful too, and she got constantly dismissed by her co-workers because of her anxiety… maybe to the point that she even had autistic meltdowns/shutdowns at her job sometimes which further solidified her role as the butt of every joke. The worst part of it is that it’s not unrealistic, especially for me as an autistic person with anxiety, and now that I think about it, the pieces like up a bit too well… wow. Not even MatPat gets me to think so hard. Edit: I didn’t contrast autism from anxiety, so I wanted to clarify some things. :) First, I wanted to clarify (Especially to neurotypicals) that meltdowns are not just one event to set you over the edge and that Pomni could’ve very well been severely unaccommodated, especially in the sound and touch department. Imagine being exposed to all the sounds, touches (And may I remind you, Pomni canonically does not like to be touched), and maybe even smells along with those DAMN lights that surrounded her at all times while she was at work. One too many jumpscares could’ve very well sent her over the edge a couple of times. Plus just being unable to communicate what she needs in that already toxic environment is nightmarish. Not necessarily an anxiety attack, but she’d be out in a situation where even minuscule inconveniences can put her in a worse mood than she already was… and in my experience, it’s far more than “just upset”. Secondly, I think her childhood could’ve very well given her this fear as autistic people are more likely to be bullied. Her childhood wasn’t really mentioned, but I like to connect characters actions back to what they might’ve experienced as a child. Of course, she could have an anxiety disorder in addition to autism, and she could’ve grown up in a place where she was constantly masking, and if we used the backstory from here, her channel could have very likely been the only place where she felt she was truly comfortable enough to unmask, which of course did not go well. This has to be the best TADC theory I've heard so far. You're one of the rare people who actually thinks pomni is being REASONABLE for being scared and confused. Everything about this theory makes sense. Except, I don't think the show runners would spend time making THAT much lore for pomni's previous life. But if they did, this theory is spot on.
How the other 4 ended up in the circus (I’m excluding Kinger cuz you already made a theory on him) Jax (Real name Mike): Mike was a bit of a trickster but did care about his family and friends he did pranks on, they were not too big, just some harmless ones. He also loved computer games and found one called “The Amazing Digital Circus” and got trapped in there and still is to this day. Ragatha (Real name Sophia) Sophia was a gentle woman that had a fiancé, but she would get hurt by him but still loved him because of Stockholm syndrome and didn’t speak out to anyone for help. She wanted to escape but didn’t want to, but one day she found out The Amazing Digital Circus. She’s still stuck. Gangle: (Real name Katie) Katie was a nervous, shy yet kind girl who often hides her true self behind a mask of laughter and comedy. She loved anime and often streamed watching it with her viewers. One day while watching the newest episode of Naruto, multiple comments recommended her to play this game called “The Amazing Digital Circus”. She wasn’t much of a gamer but sometimes play games when people recommend them to her. So she booted it up and is still trapped in the hell that is the circus. Zooble: (Real name Norma) Norma had OCD and liked for things to be organized. She loved video games and someone told her about a game that’s like Kid-Pix, it was something about a circus, she couldn’t remember. She booted it up and was never seen again.
Your Pomni backstory theory is a good one, but a major flaw I see is that a lot of things pointing to TADC taking place in the late 90s. The old computer, the abstract visual style of the world, even the dial tone Caine makes when describing the activities in the tent. It all gives me 90s vibes. When it starts, showing it on the computer stream, it looks like something out of the n64 era of 3d graphics. If that's the case, I don't think let's players and streamers were a thing yet.
While I do like your idea of how Pomni was in the real world (even think the same where it’s a copy of their consciousness that’s in the game) but I feel like the computer should have remained on since the others stated that they been in there for years

I was a bit between 2 theories, one being the ".hack//" type, where the essence of the person was transported into the game, and the body in the real world was in a coma, but if so many humans have been absorbed by this in the past, why allow Pomni to connect, as this seems more like a 90's VR prototype by other little things, rather than a mass produced game like .hack//. The other theory was the ST:TNG one of "The Two Rikers", where one person puts on the headset, a copy is made, trapped in the digital world, and then that first person leaces without knowing there is a copy of themselves in the computer, and the digital copy not realising they are a copy rather than the original being. That would explain why the computer is still accessable as no one realises there are sentient copies trapped in it. One thing I will say, you're probably the first person I've seen to point out that she is a jester and not a clown, and that there is a difference between them.
I do like to headcannon that because they're memory is sorta wiped, they don't always act like they did in the real world, in the digital world. Personally, because Pomni is a jester in the digital world, she often made fools of her friends and people around her, by guilt tripping them into doing stupid things for her. But that's just my personal headcannon lol
When you say because the characters from the amazing digital cirus are digital characters that have the memories in a computer, it's reminded me of another show that I saw. It was called the hollow, if you don't knew because this show is in Netflix. But if you want to know about this show here's the plot is because 3 Disoriented teen that don't know who they are, or why they're here, while they are trying to figure out how to escape play also try to figure out how they get here. So basically it's kind of like the amazing digital circus and other India animations.
My headcanon is that pomni was a game dev working on a remake for the amazing digital circus, and the higher ups agreed to help her with it, and gave her a beta for the original game as a basis, play-tested it and and boom! Stuck inside with no way out.

i think that the digital circus is a maze runner sort of plot, matpat explains that pomni laughs a the computer which may be a way of handling or stress, or subconsciously finding it funny that she actually helped to create the game, and jax has keys to everything, perhaps hinting that he either knows a lot more, or does because he also helped make the game. very far fetched but also we only have a pilot so is it? the game and characters have a lot of references to popular games or mythologies (beliefs?) idk how to explain it, like the c&a, caine and able from the bible story as well as the last supper possible reference?
I don't have my own theory, but I think the theory where the characters are digital copies of the real people makes the most sense. As of now, anyway. I don't really care what the characters actually are to be honest.

Theory: We know pomnis name means "remember" in russian and maybe caine chose that name for her, (bc he didnt let her finish when he asked "what do you think of pomni?", and just cut her off before she could answer, so he basicly decided for her) to make her remember who she was, bc i think caine is actually trying to help everyone escape but the C&A (the company who prob made the game and put caine and bubble as 2 ai's to "help" those who enter and take care of the errors in the game) is probably wacthing them and caine knows that, so he tries to not talk about it bc they might delete him if he tries to tell the players where the exit is, so he tries too help by giving hints and maybe the office was another hint to make pomni remember. He also doesnt undersand humans (confirmed by the creator) thats why sometimes he think his doing the right thing and helping everyone feel better but it just drives them more insane.
I think this theory could help find out what Zooble's life was like. They could have been wrestling with identity and tried alot of things at once to see what sticks, and maybe ended up regretting it
I really want you to make a video about this: So pomni might have more power than Caine bc when she enters the void Caine can teleport her back if it was someone else he wouldn’t but pomni can teleport so she might be able the teleport other pp out but more proof here!: when ragatha touches pomni her hand glitches and she thinks she can fix it! And when she is not distracted by her hand it stops glitching so Caine prob snaps which made them stop being distracted by the glitching to fix them so pomni could have fixed herself and possibly fixed ragatha! Also the first name pomni got was “XDDCC” and in this weird language I think you have talked about in one of your vids if you spell it in the weird language and make it go to the 17th switch the name is “OUT” which I think maybe means pomni might be the first one to take everyone out of the amazing digital circus! I just got an idea for the show. Maybe during each episode, we see flashbacks of each of the characters lives before they entered the game but we just hear their voices and never hear their real names or see their faces to keep their identities a mystery.
At school I’m usually the guy who makes a bunch of jokes, kinda like an actual jester. But with me that makes me a but popular (not as popular as derek though he’s literally a celebrity there tho). In my opinion the best jokes are ones that are just out of context ones, or weird and wacky ones. Not ones that are like riddles.
I actually really like the theory idea that MatPat came up with that she was an employee of whoever made the digital circus game. It would add so much irony to her “fools” outfit.
He didn't excatly come up with it. Neither did he come up with the "they're all mental copies of real people" idea. Those were some of the most common theories since the show began.
You have a good story ideas but I’m not sure if the creative team behind the show is going to see it and even if they do, I’m not sure if they can pivot from whatever they already have to include your ideas but it would be cool if they did
If this theory ends up being true, and that Pomni's real life human self is just memoryless, and in an apartment with three other employees. . We might end up having a "New Girl sitcom" type situation, just with the woman having serious memory loss. Like I could imagine where these employees freaked out and trying to figure out what to do, not to mention help Pomni get her memories back. Getting into shenanigans and what have you, and eventually they end up becoming close friends after learning more about her and how their horrible treatment of her just really isn't fun.
So if everyones virtual avatar is a representation of their trauma or flaws, then what the heck is zoobles design supposed to represent? She's a mix and match toy with a body that she can change, alter, and even add to, as it is confirmed that she has some spare parts of herself in her room, could she be somebody with a personality disorder not knowing who or what she's supposed to be? Or is she supposed to be creative and make all sorts of new looks for herself? What deep-seated trauma dose she keep down in her real personality under the mean, doesn't care type or personality she's made for herself. Zooble is one or my favorite characters in ADC, and I need answers!

We need to know if Jax was one of the employees who accidentally put Pomni in the circus. And I wanna know how Jax, Zooble, gangle, ragatha and maybe Kaufman enters the circus as well
I definitely think out of all the characters, Gangle is the most likely to have actively chosen to enter the circus. I mean, her natural state is a sobbing mess, with the comedy mask basically working like antidepressants. Perhaps her live was so bad that she just wanted to get away from it all.
In my opinion Pomni seemed to have zero experience with tech and zero intension of playing the game in the first place (if wanted to or at least intended to play it, why would she want out of the game the second she got in?) so at a minimum I think she's not a gamer/programmer like some other characters seem to be. I think whether the people before Pomni in the game had their bodies uploaded or their minds uploaded and walked away amnesiac, there's a trail of fishy circumstances at C&A involving a lot of people that would have to be investigated. I think Pomni could be either a police officer, detective, PI, or OSHA employee assigned to investigate this experience, she investigates the computer even though she's not a gamer or tech wiz because its her only lead for the work she's been assigned, and boom, uploaded, another tragic victim like the rest. It is important for her to "remember" why she's there, to help the victims that came there before her, and find a way out to complete her case.
idk what im afraid of more the fact the human body poofs and is abosrbed into the digital circus or the fact the human body is left without a concious to create a new personallity
I also thought of a few other things regarding her being made fun of and generally not taken seriously. One, maybe she looked similar IRL to how she looks in the digital circus (albeit not as cartoony, of course): short, baby-faced, maybe chubby, just looks like a toddler all around. Even those who aren't necessarily mean-spirited would be naturally inclined to infantilize her to some extent. Two, maybe she's autistic, and any differences that came from that were used to add fuel to the "funny" fire.
Okay I dunno how long Jax has been in the digital circus or if he was always an ssa-hole for no good reason but it's possible that he might've been way nicer and grew attached to people easily in the beginning. But possibly after having a close friend get abstracted, he was both terrified at the abomination you can become when you go insane and the pain that he has to bear if he has to watch someone else he cares about get abstracted and lose themselves forever. So in order to prevent himself from getting soft and attached to others, he acts like a complete jerk and ssa to everyone around him and doesn't react strongly to when one of them gets hurt emotionally or physically. And I guess he found that pulling mischievous pranks and gags on people around him and getting a kick out of their reactions was the only way to keep his sanity. And the theory with the avatars representing the character's deepest flaws or something else relating to their original lives, Jax might've been chosen to be a rabbit because he was a snotty, mischievous, sly, and loved to annoy other people but immediately became flustered and ticked whenever he'd get karma for some of the stupid stuff he'd do-kind of person. Which he still is. Then there's Gangle, who's made of red ribbons and two masks layered on top one another. I think the ribbons and them being easily uncurled and causing her to fall down with just a single tug represents her emotional fragility. And I've come up with two theories on what the layered masks may mean. The happy-looking comedy mask is put on top of the sad mask, so it's possible she hides her inner negative conflict with a fake smile or hobbies that distract her from her current issues. Or it's also possible she isn't depressed but extremely sensitive. Maybe she's genuinely happy and giddy most of the time but just by one person insulting her or making a negative comment on her will crush her. Then there's Zooble which is a lil tougher for me to come up theories with. Zooble has one of the most wackiest designs out of all characters. Her confusing and crazy design might represent her intense inner battle with her mind, which explains why she's so grumpy and irritable. It can also represent that she had physical insecurities with herself and maybe even body dysmorphia from all the bullying and humiliation she went through in her childhood or daily life. Meaning all the bizarre and silly features on her mirrors how she viewed herself in her past life. Also amazing video btw!!!11! I hope to see more of these kinds of vids in the future since they are very interesting to watch!! :-D
I see your theory but here's my own. In the anime Death Note the shimigami drop said notebook in the human realm for funsies. Whoever finds it, "wins". I think this game, this headset "seeks" out mentally vulnerable people. You know, teases them with some carrot on a stick, lures them into play. The "crusty old computer" setup is probably a red herring of sorts, at least its appearance. Makes it stand out. If Kinger made the game, then how can we explain away the abstracted ones in the cellar? Surely they had to be there before him, at least based on the crossed-out door cards. Something about the game lures certain people in, therefore I don't see it as a stretch for their physical body being "deleted". Now if this story takes major beats from I Have No Mouth and Yet I Must Scream, then! That's a whole new kettle of fish. For those who didn't read/listen to that lovely bit of existential horror, the TLDR is this. Imagine the first Matrix, the best one, the world is in cinders and all that remains is computers and machinery as far the eye can see, just like in I Have No Mouth... However, the parallels diverge from there, just painted differently. In the Matrix the digital world is as we see it now, a simulation to keep us docile. Same with TADC. Whereas in I Have No Mouth, there is no illusion painted over the eyes of the FIVE remaining humans. Rather they see the machinery, they exist in it, and they are constantly physically and psychologically tortured daily by the world-consuming A.I. known as AM. So if Gooseworx leans into that theme, I can envision a wild ride from here on out. Without the visceral beats, gore, recreational prostitution, and cursing of course but a wild ride nonetheless. So my bet is that either the game somehow lures people in or the world has already gone to hell in a handbasket and this "game" is a way for an A.I. to cling onto the last bits of humanity. Kinda like Data, the A.I. wishes to learn what it means to be human through the only way it knows how to.
9:48 I disagree, I think it's like a copy of that person's mind at the time they put the headset on. If we were to transfer our consciousness to a computer... in reality it probably would be more like making a backup copy than anything. Think of it like sending identical files to two co-workers, or for those still in school sending a copy to a project you have a partner on. Each person working on the file has the original copy, but each one ends up different and one is clearly different from the other. Let's assume the exchanging notes and collaborating it into a single paper never happens. Pomni would be the backup copy, and the original person may have gone on as they were to live their life and may even be dead now. Except Pomni only has the memories of when the headset was placed on.
Honestly, this is better there than game theory, because what he proposed was kinda not an interesting plot, like there would be, no steaks at all, if that was the case so I like this is great. Keep up the good work.

I think you’re right about most things about how poimn got there but I do think you’re wrong about her losing her memory. My idea is she put on the headset then once she was done she left with all of her memories in tact, but her conscience got uploaded to the computer like a copy and paste, but with no memory because the headset was super old and it was still in testing.
We know she is a jester, but what does it mean, she being a clown, the only other being the ring master, only member of the circus? Maybe she could have put the headgear on in the game and gotten out...

Out of all the cast members, i believe Raggeta is a mother in the real world.
She exhibits a positive and caring attitude and has intrusive thoughts of how never leaving could be a terrible outcome.
Regardless, if rags remembers being a mother. Being a good mom would mold your personality into trying to keep calm in stressful situations and protective of the young and innocent like pomni.
She might want to continue acting like a mother even if she doesn't know why. Equally not being able to see loved ones again that she has forgotten about could lead her to having a motive to leave BUT if she lets herself become ABSTRACTED she lose the ability to reason and escape will become harder, perhaps impossible.

Ragatha was probably a daycare-worker in real life, who saw a kid-friendly looking game, she wanted to use for her activities in her job. So she wanted to test it, to see if it isn't a shoddy indie mascot-horror, like the last game, she wanted to show to the kids. (their parents filed lawsuits against her employer, last time, because the seemingly cute Unicorn game was actually a horror game with gore.) But as soon as she tests it, she gets sucked into the game and now tries her best to cheer up her fellow humans, trying to apply her knowledge of dealing with kids to the people around her.
She does come off as if she's "the mom" of the group.
Theory 1: Pomni entered the game on purpose to try to rescue someone but tragically forgot and gave in to self-preservation instincts.
Theory 2: The game was made to train the AI for the characters from Murder Drones and this is a prequel. (Sort of hoping this is its own thing, but it could potentially happen?)
For the second one we have to confirm that the universes created by 2 different directors are somehow connected

My theory was that Ragatha was a struggling single mother who decided to take up a position as beta tester for the Digital Circus game to get her daughter a doll she wanted for Christmas. Instead, her consciousness ended up being sucked into the game along with the rest of them. That's why her digital avatar is a ragdoll and she mothers the other characters, all for a child that was once her entire world, who she can no longer remember.
It’s hard to top this backstory for pomni, but I have a theory for Jax’s backstory. I think that Jax was originally just a trouble making intern who just wanted to joke around with people for fun and not have to worry about responsibilities and such, so he breaks into the old basement to see what’s down there and if he can sell it without the company knowing, and it leads to him finding and getting sucked into the amazing digital circus; where he was of course terrified, but soon realized he got exactly what he wanted, to joke around with people and not worry about any responsibilities or consequences.
Edit: Jax not caring about anyone in the game and just doing what he wants like putting centipedes in ragatha’s room points to this possibly being the case.

High strung, easily triggered by many things, anxious, keeps to herself, socially awkward? In other words, Pomni is an autistic who is being harassed and tormented by people who take advantaged of her disability to make content of her being frightened and making a fool of herself. The connection you make of "Natural Fools" at the beginning makes me think that these people are trying to make her into a lolcow (or at least given the treatment of one). Maybe I just really want her to be autistic because the more representation, the better.
Another connection I made myself is that if she is autistic, the color scheme and the role of the jester probably comes from people both infantilizing autism as well as making it out to make them seem like fools. The primary colors are a common color scheme used with those puzzle pieces Autism Moms™ like to parade around (even though the puzzle pieces have a deeply ableist history that date back to 60 years). So it's like she's turned into a cartoonish and symbolic personification of what non-autistics (or at least ableists and those that still have internalized ableism and don't realize it) view autism as. If this theory is correct, they could have used that bloody puzzle piece pattern on her costume, but that would have been giving away too much.

I do agree with your analysis that she likely has some kind of disorder/condition that leads to social alienation, and that is why she is a jester or "fool." People don't take her troubles seriously because they don't understand what it's like to be in her shoes. However, I didn't see enough evidence to indicate she is on the autism spectrum SPECIFICALLY, and considering that just about ANY kind of disorder/condition can cause others to look down upon you and make fun of you, I think it's very open-ended as to what it could be. My bet is that she at LEAST has some kind of generalized anxiety disorder, but it's very possible she has something else with it, so who knows?
Regardless, I hope that even if she isn't technically neurodivergent, her story is still one that we neurodivergent people can relate to. And if she turns out to be canonically neurodivergent, I'm very excited to see more representation!

The thing is that Pomni might’ve been autistic too, since Gooseworx confirmed that she doesn’t like to be touched… maybe it was painful too, and she got constantly dismissed by her co-workers because of her anxiety… maybe to the point that she even had autistic meltdowns/shutdowns at her job sometimes which further solidified her role as the butt of every joke. The worst part of it is that it’s not unrealistic, especially for me as an autistic person with anxiety, and now that I think about it, the pieces like up a bit too well… wow. Not even MatPat gets me to think so hard.

This has to be the best TADC theory I've heard so far. You're one of the rare people who actually thinks pomni is being REASONABLE for being scared and confused. Everything about this theory makes sense. Except, I don't think the show runners would spend time making THAT much lore for pomni's previous life. But if they did, this theory is spot on.
How the other 4 ended up in the circus

Jax (Real name Mike): Mike was a bit of a trickster but did care about his family and friends he did pranks on, they were not too big, just some harmless ones. He also loved computer games and found one called “The Amazing Digital Circus” and got trapped in there and still is to this day.
Ragatha (Real name Sophia) Sophia was a gentle woman that had a fiancé, but she would get hurt by him but still loved him because of Stockholm syndrome and didn’t speak out to anyone for help. She wanted to escape but didn’t want to, but one day she found out The Amazing Digital Circus. She’s still stuck.
Gangle: (Real name Katie) Katie was a nervous, shy yet kind girl who often hides her true self behind a mask of laughter and comedy. She loved anime and often streamed watching it with her viewers. One day while watching the newest episode of Naruto, multiple comments recommended her to play this game called “The Amazing Digital Circus”. She wasn’t much of a gamer but sometimes play games when people recommend them to her. So she booted it up and is still trapped in the hell that is the circus.
Zooble: (Real name Norma) Norma had OCD and liked for things to be organized. She loved video games and someone told her about a game that’s like Kid-Pix, it was something about a circus, she couldn’t remember. She booted it up and was never seen again.
Your Pomni backstory theory is a good one, but a major flaw I see is that a lot of things pointing to TADC taking place in the late 90s. The old computer, the abstract visual style of the world, even the dial tone Caine makes when describing the activities in the tent. It all gives me 90s vibes. When it starts, showing it on the computer stream, it looks like something out of the n64 era of 3d graphics. If that's the case, I don't think let's players and streamers were a thing yet.
While I do like your idea of how Pomni was in the real world (even think the same where it’s a copy of their consciousness that’s in the game) but I feel like the computer should have remained on since the others stated that they been in there for years

I was a bit between 2 theories, one being the ".hack//" type, where the essence of the person was transported into the game, and the body in the real world was in a coma, but if so many humans have been absorbed by this in the past, why allow Pomni to connect, as this seems more like a 90's VR prototype by other little things, rather than a mass produced game like .hack//. The other theory was the ST:TNG one of "The Two Rikers", where one person puts on the headset, a copy is made, trapped in the digital world, and then that first person leaces without knowing there is a copy of themselves in the computer, and the digital copy not realising they are a copy rather than the original being. That would explain why the computer is still accessable as no one realises there are sentient copies trapped in it.
One thing I will say, you're probably the first person I've seen to point out that she is a jester and not a clown, and that there is a difference between them.
I do like to headcannon that because they're memory is sorta wiped, they don't always act like they did in the real world, in the digital world. Personally, because Pomni is a jester in the digital world, she often made fools of her friends and people around her, by guilt tripping them into doing stupid things for her. But that's just my personal headcannon lol

When you say because the characters from the amazing digital cirus are digital characters that have the memories in a computer, it's reminded me of another show that I saw. It was called the hollow, if you don't knew because this show is in Netflix. But if you want to know about this show here's the plot is because 3 Disoriented teen that don't know who they are, or why they're here, while they are trying to figure out how to escape play also try to figure out how they get here. So basically it's kind of like the amazing digital circus and other India animations.
My headcanon is that pomni was a game dev working on a remake for the amazing digital circus, and the higher ups agreed to help her with it, and gave her a beta for the original game as a basis, play-tested it and and boom! Stuck inside with no way out.

i think that the digital circus is a maze runner sort of plot, matpat explains that pomni laughs a the computer which may be a way of handling or stress, or subconsciously finding it funny that she actually helped to create the game, and jax has keys to everything, perhaps hinting that he either knows a lot more, or does because he also helped make the game. very far fetched but also we only have a pilot so is it? the game and characters have a lot of references to popular games or mythologies (beliefs?) idk how to explain it, like the c&a, caine and able from the bible story as well as the last supper possible reference?

Theory: We know pomnis name means "remember" in russian and maybe caine chose that name for her, (bc he didnt let her finish when he asked "what do you think of pomni?", and just cut her off before she could answer, so he basicly decided for her) to make her remember who she was, bc i think caine is actually trying to help everyone escape but the C&A (the company who prob made the game and put caine and bubble as 2 ai's to "help" those who enter and take care of the errors in the game) is probably wacthing them and caine knows that, so he tries to not talk about it bc they might delete him if he tries to tell the players where the exit is, so he tries too help by giving hints and maybe the office was another hint to make pomni remember. He also doesnt undersand humans (confirmed by the creator) thats why sometimes he think his doing the right thing and helping everyone feel better but it just drives them more insane.
I think this theory could help find out what Zooble's life was like. They could have been wrestling with identity and tried alot of things at once to see what sticks, and maybe ended up regretting it

So pomni might have more power than Caine bc when she enters the void Caine can teleport her back if it was someone else he wouldn’t but pomni can teleport so she might be able the teleport other pp out but more proof here!: when ragatha touches pomni her hand glitches and she thinks she can fix it! And when she is not distracted by her hand it stops glitching so Caine prob snaps which made them stop being distracted by the glitching to fix them so pomni could have fixed herself and possibly fixed ragatha! Also the first name pomni got was “XDDCC” and in this weird language I think you have talked about in one of your vids if you spell it in the weird language and make it go to the 17th switch the name is “OUT” which I think maybe means pomni might be the first one to take everyone out of the amazing digital circus! (PLEASE make a vid about this I subbed and I love your vids!!!!!❤)

I just got an idea for the show. Maybe during each episode, we see flashbacks of each of the characters lives before they entered the game but we just hear their voices and never hear their real names or see their faces to keep their identities a mystery.

At school I’m usually the guy who makes a bunch of jokes, kinda like an actual jester. But with me that makes me a but popular (not as popular as derek though he’s literally a celebrity there tho). I actually really like the theory idea that MatPat came up with that she was an employee of whoever made the digital circus game. It would add so much irony to her “fools” outfit.
He didn't excatly come up with it. Neither did he come up with the "they're all mental copies of real people" idea. Those were some of the most common theories since the show began.

You have a good story ideas but I’m not sure if the creative team behind the show is going to see it and even if they do, I’m not sure if they can pivot from whatever they already have to include your ideas but it would be cool if they did

If this theory ends up being true, and that Pomni's real life human self is just memoryless, and in an apartment with three other employees. . We might end up having a "New Girl sitcom" type situation, just with the woman having serious memory loss. Like I could imagine where these employees freaked out and trying to figure out what to do, not to mention help Pomni get her memories back. Getting into shenanigans and what have you, and eventually they end up becoming close friends after learning more about her and how their horrible treatment of her just really isn't fun.
So if everyones virtual avatar is a representation of their trauma or flaws, then what the heck is zoobles design supposed to represent? She's a mix and match toy with a body that she can change, alter, and even add to, as it is confirmed that she has some spare parts of herself in her room, could she be somebody with a personality disorder not knowing who or what she's supposed to be? Or is she supposed to be creative and make all sorts of new looks for herself? What deep-seated trauma dose she keep down in her real personality under the mean, doesn't care type or personality she's made for herself. Zooble is one or my favorite characters in ADC, and I need answers!
She is a perfectionist and has a body that can never be in symmetry (she must have already given up on fixing her body but it still bothers her)

I'd honestly like to see what she would do with that. She'd probably be nervous as she probably has no experience with flying😅

P.S. my version of frog pomni is really close to the design, yes she was frog and skinny but she was going to be tall, where blue and black stripe shirt and trousers and have red eyes mine is short, red and white shirt, jean shorts & white eyes.
We need to know if Jax was one of the employees who accidentally put Pomni in the circus. And I wanna know how Jax, Zooble, gangle, ragatha and maybe Kaufman enters the circus as well
I definitely think out of all the characters, Gangle is the most likely to have actively chosen to enter the circus. I mean, her natural state is a sobbing mess, with the comedy mask basically working like antidepressants. Perhaps her live was so bad that she just wanted to get away from it all.
In my opinion Pomni seemed to have zero experience with tech and zero intension of playing the game in the first place (if wanted to or at least intended to play it, why would she want out of the game the second she got in?) so at a minimum I think she's not a gamer/programmer like some other characters seem to be. I think whether the people before Pomni in the game had their bodies uploaded or their minds uploaded and walked away amnesiac, there's a trail of fishy circumstances at C&A involving a lot of people that would have to be investigated. I think Pomni could be either a police officer, detective, PI, or OSHA employee assigned to investigate this experience, she investigates the computer even though she's not a gamer or tech wiz because its her only lead for the work she's been assigned, and boom, uploaded, another tragic victim like the rest. It is important for her to "remember" why she's there, to help the victims that came there before her, and find a way out to complete her case.

idk what im afraid of more the fact the human body poofs and is abosrbed into the digital circus or the fact the human body is left without a concious to create a new personallity
I also thought of a few other things regarding her being made fun of and generally not taken seriously.
One, maybe she looked similar IRL to how she looks in the digital circus (albeit not as cartoony, of course): short, baby-faced, maybe chubby, just looks like a toddler all around. Even those who aren't necessarily mean-spirited would be naturally inclined to infantilize her to some extent.
Two, maybe she's autistic, and any differences that came from that were used to add fuel to the "funny" fire.
Okay I dunno how long Jax has been in the digital circus or if he was always an ssa-hole for no good reason but it's possible that he might've been way nicer and grew attached to people easily in the beginning. But possibly after having a close friend get abstracted, he was both terrified at the abomination you can become when you go insane and the pain that he has to bear if he has to watch someone else he cares about get abstracted and lose themselves forever. So in order to prevent himself from getting soft and attached to others, he acts like a complete jerk and ssa to everyone around him and doesn't react strongly to when one of them gets hurt emotionally or physically. And I guess he found that pulling mischievous pranks and gags on people around him and getting a kick out of their reactions was the only way to keep his sanity.
And the theory with the avatars representing the character's deepest flaws or something else relating to their original lives, Jax might've been chosen to be a rabbit because he was a snotty, mischievous, sly, and loved to annoy other people but immediately became flustered and ticked whenever he'd get karma for some of the stupid stuff he'd do-kind of person.
Which he still is.
Then there's Gangle, who's made of red ribbons and two masks layered on top one another. I think the ribbons and them being easily uncurled and causing her to fall down with just a single tug represents her emotional fragility. And I've come up with two theories on what the layered masks may mean. The happy-looking comedy mask is put on top of the sad mask, so it's possible she hides her inner negative conflict with a fake smile or hobbies that distract her from her current issues. Or it's also possible she isn't depressed but extremely sensitive. Maybe she's genuinely happy and giddy most of the time but just by one person insulting her or making a negative comment on her will crush her.
Then there's Zooble which is a lil tougher for me to come up theories with. Zooble has one of the most wackiest designs out of all characters. Her confusing and crazy design might represent her intense inner battle with her mind, which explains why she's so grumpy and irritable. It can also represent that she had physical insecurities with herself and maybe even body dysmorphia from all the bullying and humiliation she went through in her childhood or daily life. Meaning all the bizarre and silly features on her mirrors how she viewed herself in her past life.

I see your theory but here's my own. In the anime Death Note the shimigami drop said notebook in the human realm for funsies. Whoever finds it, "wins". I think this game, this headset "seeks" out mentally vulnerable people. You know, teases them with some carrot on a stick, lures them into play. The "crusty old computer" setup is probably a red herring of sorts, at least its appearance. Makes it stand out. If Kinger made the game, then how can we explain away the abstracted ones in the cellar? Surely they had to be there before him, at least based on the crossed-out door cards. Something about the game lures certain people in, therefore I don't see it as a stretch for their physical body being "deleted".
Now if this story takes major beats from I Have No Mouth and Yet I Must Scream, then! That's a whole new kettle of fish. For those who didn't read/listen to that lovely bit of existential horror, the TLDR is this. Imagine the first Matrix, the best one, the world is in cinders and all that remains is computers and machinery as far the eye can see, just like in I Have No Mouth... However, the parallels diverge from there, just painted differently. In the Matrix the digital world is as we see it now, a simulation to keep us docile. Same with TADC. Whereas in I Have No Mouth, there is no illusion painted over the eyes of the FIVE remaining humans. Rather they see the machinery, they exist in it, and they are constantly physically and psychologically tortured daily by the world-consuming A.I. known as AM. So if Gooseworx leans into that theme, I can envision a wild ride from here on out. Without the visceral beats, gore, recreational prostitution, and cursing of course but a wild ride nonetheless. So my bet is that either the game somehow lures people in or the world has already gone to hell in a handbasket and this "game" is a way for an A.I. to cling onto the last bits of humanity. Kinda like Data, the A.I. wishes to learn what it means to be human through the only way it knows how to.
9:48 I disagree, I think it's like a copy of that person's mind at the time they put the headset on. If we were to transfer our consciousness to a computer... in reality it probably would be more like making a backup copy than anything.
Think of it like sending identical files to two co-workers, or for those still in school sending a copy to a project you have a partner on. Each person working on the file has the original copy, but each one ends up different and one is clearly different from the other. Let's assume the exchanging notes and collaborating it into a single paper never happens.
Pomni would be the backup copy, and the original person may have gone on as they were to live their life and may even be dead now. Except Pomni only has the memories of when the headset was placed on.
Honestly, this is better there than game theory, because what he proposed was kinda not an interesting plot, like there would be, no steaks at all, if that was the case so I like this is great. Keep up the good work.

I think you’re right about most things about how poimn got there but I do think you’re wrong about her losing her memory. My idea is she put on the headset then once she was done she left with all of her memories in tact, but her conscience got uploaded to the computer like a copy and paste, but with no memory because the headset was super old and it was still in testing.
