- Part 1 of our POOL PONDS and Peaks tour with Reef Sandals @Reef84 . The first stop of our journey brought us too England where we ended up spending most of our time between Bristol and Woolacombe Bay. We skimmed and surfed The Wave in Bristol for two days and then attended the Spring Classic Surf Festival right afterwards. From England we flew to Amsterdam and finally made it to Portugal after way too long of a travel day. We were graciously hosted by our friend Emanuel Embaixador during our time in Portugal. He took us all around Portugal on the hunt for waves and urban skim spots. We linked up with two of the most inspirational skimboarders in our sport, @AdrienRaza and @lucasfinkrj Both of which are the forefront of their styles of Skimboarding. Lucas is better know for his big wave riding which he has been experimenting with in Brazil and Portugal. Adrien has started his own type of skimboarding that he likes to call Urban Skimboarding. If you are not familiar with what he does I highly encourage you to check out his Instagram or TikTok.
I'm so glad Blair's youtube has blown up. He used to be a no name that occasionally showed up on Raw Beefs, now he's thriving because people have discovered how amazing his skill and talent is. So so so happy for Skid Kids blowing up. It's what's right with the world.
Thanks for being with us through the process Brian! Stoked you are still enjoying the videos
It’s so nice to see a proper skimboarding community supporting such a legend
I'm with ya on the RUclips blowin up
but the no name gtfo here
Blair's been blowing it up way before there even was RUclips
ripping lips 🌊🎉
he was sliding out almost to the freaking sand bar skimin at a skim contest in Panama City back in 98
bro, those in the know, know, ya know . 😋🤙
@@SkidKids the production quality in this one was... 👨🏻🍳💋 Great job Skylar et al.
He needs to be brought to justice for the continuous destruction of nature back in the US.
Sick style of video
Need more
Was great meeting you all in Portugal! Come back soon!
PS: Thanks for the shades Blair 😎
Yeah Alex! Thanks for watching the vids Big Dog! Hope you enjoy those shades
Congratulations on the video!
Portugal is a paradise for those who love water sports
The skid wiz is back
Amazing vlogging and skimboarding you spread such positive vibes thank you
Hi Blair! We, me and my husband, would like to thank you and Emanuel for making Kiko's dreams come true! ❤️ Being with both, in Santa Cruz, was really important for him! He loves his teacher and to see your work!!!
He talks a lot and had lots of questions but language was still a barrier this time! I hope next goes better. We will be waiting for you!!! 🙂
Greetings from Sesimbra!!
Blair is also an accomplished surfer. I love to see him blur the lines between surfing and skimboarding.
No shyt dude, hes opened my eyes on some things for sure.. i had no idea skim boarding could go that far.. Its sad because, it seems this style of surf skimming is probably best suited for areas like where i live..
Great Edit! Sweet narrative capturing the vibe and adventure of the trip. Skylar is masterful at her craft. ✨😎
no she missed half of it and always has an additude
I spent my childhood there. I've missed it for over 20 years. Dana Point, Salt Creek, 1000 steps, one hundred percent.
So cool to see you in the UK!
Started skimboarding because of you!!! Best regards from a man of Santa Cruz itself :D
Same!! Santa Cruz rocks!
Skylar's filming is insane.
She has a good eye and some serious editing skills
It's a joy to see this guy on a board!!!
I remember the first "Oak St. Skimboard Competitionon. I wish that I still had that shirt. Bless it all, without prophanity.
What year was the 1st oak street contest.i lived there from 83 to 93 and grew up going there since I was little.my great grandparents lived by boat canyon.i remember amber Cottle. The Henderson and Tex skimming Shaws cove in the late 70s
What a fun vid! Airport Mouse rocks!
Was an absolute honour to meet you and Skylar , you absolutely killed it in the pool 🤙.....such a fantastic edit 👌👏👏
Can't believe I'm actually in one of your clips 😁🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Never associated U.K. with surfing even after living and working there for a couple years. Live 'n' learn. Way cool skimming action down those cobblestone steps in Portugal. Glad the guy that did a faceplant was okay.
North of Cornwal and south of Wales are the best and most beautiful spots for watersports in the UK.
There are places in Cornwall where the sports are so popular that equipment hire is dirt cheap.
Love you guys thanks so much
One of the sickest videos in a while 🔥🤙
Beautiful scenery, Blair friendly vibes always good to seek new adventures. 🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🌏
Oh man! I live 40 minutes from Bristol and had no idea a place like that existed! I might check it out some time.
Best vid/ edit in a while love it🔥🤙
Watching for years and first time I saw the mud under the nose trick.👍
Damn I just noticed ur subs! Been with y'all for a while. Nice work! Well deserved.
So, Blair, here's a story of having money doesn't have anything to do with a good life. Some of my best memories were of having a dollar, in quarters, to get a round trip, bus ticket, with transfer's, to get from Anaheim to 1000 steps. With sleeping gear, 5 shopping bags, trash bags to clean and pack out trash, up the stairs, and I would camp out every weekend, there, for years. The longest stay, without leaving the beach, was a week. When Can Halen came out with the album"1984", I was camping at 1,000 Steps Beach". Please, take good care of that magical place, with a great history. Check the archive's of the Orange County Register, newspaper of the first "El Nino" storm there.
"Oh boy"! And a grand time has been had by all; ole & newcomers, alike. [nice to see Ingrid again in your travels]
Looking forward to more ~
Ingrid is back! Thanks for watching and supporting what we do Reggie!
Nice video Blair. I went to high school with your dad, lbhs 75. Also grew up in England and went back there in 72 and made a plywood skimmer and a skateboard. I was just like you long hair and all. Lol.
FYI. The best spot, to get into, The Wedge, is a channel between "Clynders" (we used to call that northern break next to The Wedge, Gravel's". Enough said.
Sorry Ingrid, the nose thing was funny AF. Great meeting you in VB Blair. 🤙🏻🌊🍍
Finally seeing the video! I saw you guys skimming in Torres Vedras at Chafariz dos Canos, super rad!
These videos are awesome, and you all look happy doing stuff you love - good vibes. Cornwall has some great beaches along with Devon. Unfortunately here on the east coast in UK not so much but I have been watching your videos and inspired to start skimming again in my 40s. Keep up the great work. Ps Would be lovely if you had a exile skim board distributor in the UK.
I loved this one!!!!
One of my fav Skid Kids Vids!
Great seeing Blair get out of his comfort zone
Love from jup fl.
Need to leave Laguna every once in a while
Gotta be the most fun Skidkids vid ever, loved it, "you're doing AMAZING". Excellent job on the editing.
Totally unexpected to see this but somehow sensed to check out Skidkids today.
No way! Thanks for tuning in Jamage! Really glad you were stoked on the video. We are excited to share next weeks video as well. We scored in France!
❤❤❤. Loved this! What a trip!
Thanks MOM!
Off the beach skimming in Portugal was epic.
Oh yeah! So much potential for that in portugal with all their cobble stone streets
Niceeeee
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Fam!
Wish there was more skim spots in Cali but this is so dope man. Your shredding it out there💯
Hey, Blair, ever run for the border? 🎵 I need some good clean water. 🎶
You’re gnarly. Keep the vids comin!
This guy is CLASS.
Oh Hell Yeah! I was Just Gonna Ask to Skimboard on a FlowRider!!! That's gonna be absolutely gnarly!! 🤘🤙
I kidding. I just Jest. Like a Jester. So many props and prayers for you, and everyone around you. Have you given competitionons, off of peirs in so.cal for future lifeguards, yet?
Welcome to Portugal! 💪
So so Rad!!! Yewwww
The saying, back in the begining of the 80's, at 1,000 Steps Beach, was, "Bring it down, pack it out.". Alot of "Mission Viejo" kids wouldn't. So, I, and my friends, would bring trash bags, with us, to clean up the house, pack it out, and keep that 9th and 10th street beach looking prestine. Carry it on. Up those 224 steps.
wow.. what a boss.. tha'ts magical to watch.. would love to learn how to skim on waves like that; you owned that Wave park .. ownership right there. they should have just given you the keys and all went home forever.
hahaha! Appreciate that! can you email the Wave Garden Execs about that
Love santa cruz
This makes me wanna start skimboarding
Totally 🔥🔥🔥 🤘🤙
Next gonna be epic 👊
Brilliant video.
THE VERY FIRST, " El Nino" storm, peirs across So. Cal., Were getting ripped apart. A few friends, and I, decided to check out, 1,000 Steps Beach. The Army Corpsbor Engineers helecoptered in a Excavactor to save those 3 houses from the shore break Waves of 9th st. It was so epic, it made the the front page of The Orange County Register newspaper. Ask your folks.
The Skyrar touch really upped the quality of this one!
Awesome vid🤙
Lots of fun on this Euro tour, Nice one Blair!
Glad you enjoyed! Skylar crushed it on this edit.
Tom Cute, Chey Horan, Mark Lighting Bolt, we all knew about Salt Creek. Come on, Skid Kids!
As a surfing kid, after seeing a huge Tiger Shark, I would raise hell of anybody fishing around surfers.
I’m just bought a $700 blairacuda board 🤭
It will last forever! The carbon ones are the best boards on the market
This day was sick ❤️🔥🔥
Damn I so wish I could've catched you on the tour !
Can’t believe you came to the UK! Love The Wave, I’m going soon, also you should come back in the Winter and try Cornwall
Great edit!
The ear thing! That's superb! Love that you're surfing the UK. Can't wait for you to try Cornwall
That is next on my list of places to go!
The mating season of Grey Whales seem to attract White Sharks, too.
Great work skylar! And damn blair, you showed out! Sick video
ok this one was awesome. started with a real sweet wave park in the UK of all places.... some of those were decent fake waves. portugal looks fun too! can't wait for the next episode Blair
Thanks Barne! Really appreciate you! The fake waves were definitely better than what we had to work with in the ocean while we were in the UK. Next time we will hopfeully get better ocean waves in Cornwall.
Awesome vid - glad to see you made it to the UK. We even sorted some weather for you :)
awesome
Great vid
The RIGHT side of the car 🇦🇺👍
Hahaha I got two traffic fines from hidden cameras! It got crazy
Gotta love skid kids surprised you left little dog behind
Little dog is going full time surf maniac. Might make it in to the WSL one of these days
That turtle!!
Yeah Blair! yewww
Pack it in, pack it out. 1,000 Steps Beach!
Not even finished and feel the need to comment! Great video and so happy to see you in the UK! I hope we treated you well.
We had an absolute blast and were welcomed with sunshine! It was stupidly beautiful there
Doing it turtle style🐢🐢. We used to skim flooded golf courses and flooded walnut orchards.
Love it! Can’t believe you didn’t visit Fistral Beach, surf capital of the UK!
Yo, skid kids, I use to practice Knunckucks at 10th St. 1000 steps. When it was more private.
Yeaaah Blair! Woolacombe is my local, so good to see you cruising the old logs. Super good for flatland skimming on these beaches, not exactly the Wedge in terms of waves though... Keep it up!
Yeah Daniel! We will be back. Such a stunningly beautiful place you live in!
What !!!! Blair is 45 mins away from us at the Bristol wave pool??!!!! 😲😲😲😲
I was… I’ll be back next year hopefully!
I know!!!! Gutted!! Could have got my Cuda signed!!
@@SkidKids do a meet-up next time!
I believe that Seal beach had alot of sand brought in to save beach houses. The Ocean brought the sand to bad ass places like Salt Creek and 1,000 Steps Beach. Ask your granddad.
So, in the early 80's , us young kids use to challenge gromiy, lifeguards that had to jump off of The Newport Pier. It was halarioys, as being an Aquaman.
So, if you Snorkel around the reefs of 10th St. So Laguna, you will see an orange colored fish called a Gerabaldie. They are protected. Catch and immediately release. They are a reef fish. Tiger shark love them.
The first was so unlike i bever tought blair would surf a normal wave
Welcome to Europa 😱cool!
Sweet edit! Really enjoyed the vibe of this video. Good job guys!
Skylar crushed it! Thanks Jeremy
At the northern cliff Point, of Dana Point, is a Bronze Statue of an ingigionous, bad ass dude, tossing a cowhide down to Richard Henary Dana Junior's waiting ships. The more you know, bro.
If you have Norwegian Bloods, you might want to talk with your mom, possible son. 🎵 Everybody loves that, song. 🎶
Yo, kids, at Dana Point Jetty, it's man made. Wich back in the day, didn't require a fishing licence. Man made structures were exempt. The Charter boats would gut and clean fish there. We would catch 50" halibut in Dana Point Harbor. The Army Corp of Engineering built "Breakwater Jetties" at the harbors of Newpor Inlet and Dana Point. I recommend a Novel, book, titled, " Two years before the Mast.". If you wanna know the history of Dana Point.
Nice music choices during the surf segments. Whom are they by, if you happen to know? Just subscribed to your channel about two weeks ago.
Salt Creek is not a secret. It has been a feature in surfing magazines for many years. Too much sand causing it not to break? I remember that 10th St. Suffered that effect.
I heard a rumor! (You know if you are old like me, you heard those lyrics play in your head...) Love the vid Blair!
Thanks for watching Trae!
@@SkidKids My pleasure. Blair is amazing and a super chill guy. I'm older, 54, and have done Rock Climbing for 35 years... but I really enjoy surfing when I get out once every year or so. We can all at least live vicariously through him ;)
Blair in France ! I’m close to the Cap Ferret would be amazing to see you
Stay tuned for next weeks video! We scored in Cap Ferret
Really cool style of video
Super stoked you enjoyed!
At a super low tide, 1982, you could walk, in the surf, almost to the middle of The Newport Pier, So Cal. That day, of low tide, some guy fishing on the Peir hooked ontu an 18 foot Tiger Shark. Understand?
sick
