- Mottisfont - a country estate in Hampshire England.
Mottisfont is a country estate in Hampshire England. But it started life as a priory in 1201. The streams in the grounds are fed by the river Test.
The day we filmed the house was closed, but we will return. As we loved exploring the grounds.
The water is crystal clear
Because the Test is a chalk bed river.
The name Mottisfont comes from old English, meaning spring near the confluence or spring of the stone.

Beautiful footage ! Thanks for sharing !
Thank you too! 😉👍
So beautiful place! Nice images of the river! Warm greetings from Palma de Mallorca!
Thank you very much! 🙏👍
Great vidéo my new friend. I am waiting for you. 7
Thanks 👍🙏😉
Hi Carol and Derek. Hope you are both well. Thank you for sharing. The grounds are beautiful. Love watching the water go under the bridge. The outside of the house looks very impressive. Hopefully you'll get to explore inside another day. It's good to have a walk on a lovely sunny day. The gardens are so well put together. Even in the winter look great. Some nice seats for a rest. You picked a perfect day to visit with the gorgeous blue sky. Love the avenue of trees. Great reflections on the water. What an amazing place. The photos are so good, especially the ones of the Robin. Hope you both have a lovely weekend. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We love to get out and about when the weather permits as we’re so keen to explore our new surroundings. This was a new NT venue for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely read the info before we go next time to ensure access to the house, although it is primarily the grounds we go for. It’s twofold really, lovely gardens and we get our steps in. Hope all is well with you both 🙏👍😉
Hi Carol & Derek! Too bad the main house was closed but the tour around the grounds was lovely. I enjoyed learning about the place and seeing the full river. Loved the photos of the robin and the blackbird? at the end. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Donna. 🙏👍
I enjoyed exploring the grounds too. Lovely weather by the way. Nice to know you will return. Happy weekend. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿😎
Oh you’ve been too. Surprisingly there aren’t many National Trust places close by. Will definitely go back to this one. If only we had read the information before we’d gone we would have realised the house wasn’t open 😂.
This was just amazing my friend, music is brilliant!
