That's an homage from the Ultimate X-men comics. Magneto used his ability to somehow reprogram the Sentinel to attack Wasington DC - Capitol Hill and the White House as retaliation for the Government sending them to attack the Savage Land.
Magneto in the movies removed the iron from a mans blood. I'm the xmen comics, he sucked the adamantium out of bullet holes in wolverine's flesh. He is truly badass
So trask has a irrational belief that mutants want to take over mankind so he builds killer robots to defend mankind from mutants but it turns out that mutants dont want to take over and his killer robots rebel and try to kill mankind. So all in all the robots he created were more of a threat than the mutants? lol the irony!!!
No he wanted to bring humanity together and the only way was for a common enemy, so he hunted down the mutants just like Hitler, he wanted to bring together the German population so he made an enemy that everyone hated which was the Jews.
It's not irrational. Given the spectacular powers of mutants, and the more frequent mutants are born, its highly likely that humanity will eventually be outclassed by mutants until extinction. Its happened countless times in nature. The only peaceful way I see humans existing with mutants is if they breed together so humanity can slowly assimilate.
CrazyGamingXL That is actually what characters within the marvel universe have deduced due to Franklin Richard's abilities. They say that humanity will eventually evolve into a superhuman race with powerful psionic abilities and that Franklin Richards is an early example of that future.
I would just like to say that Peter Dinklage was the perfect person to play Trask on DOFP. I had not seen any prior incarnation of him but Dinklage just had so much confidence and stole very scene he was in.
“This military scientist created the most dangerous weapon the X-Men ever faced” Sentinel 1: What is that object? Sentinel 2: It appears to be the Ace of Spades. *BOOM*
I imagined the Sentinels would have been built solely to “defeat the mutant threat” and Trask forgot program human safety as a priority leading them to attack mutants with no regard for collateral damage
Trask was originally going to be Stark. The Sentinels were going to be Stark technology. Stan Lee though changed his mind about Tony being a villain and changed a few letters around.
To expand a little more. The Trask design for the Sentinels. Are part based on the Stark Iron Man program. I forget which X-Men books stumbled over this fact. But Stan didn't want Tony cast a villain/ Am sure this will be brought up again in the future/
What I do like about the Sentinels is that they pretty much never lost their original look until the latest movie, and even then they only lost that look because they were the upgraded versions of their former selves
The best Sentinel designs I felt were from the 90's cartoon. Those were actually kinda scary back when it first came out. I preferred that design to bad though that ever since then they have made them look less and less scary pretty much with each show/movie. I also really liked the voice that was used for them back then. Sounded exactly like they should sound.
I, of course, was raised on the Fox X-men version of things, so it surprises me that not only did Trask die so quickly, but that the Sentinels rebelled almost immediately.
How did Xavier knockout the Sentinels, before Trask heroically sacrificed himself? The video/comic shows them being knocked out as if they had human brains.
the comics back then played around with computers being so good it was so close to human that psychics would tap into them. it didnt stick very well, but it is a good idea none the less.
Wow if they used that kind of logic in the comics/movies today, the X-Men wouldn't have many problems against the Sentinels. Just need a telepath around and they win!
Sentinels would be interesting to see in the MCU but I wish Marvel really focused more on their alternate timelines as well like the Age Of Apocalypse and Days Of Future Past exploring the different universes including the Marvel Noir Universe which is talked about by The Watcher and was created by the Celestials

Actually, Trask was depicted by a black actor earlier in the terrible "X-Men: The Last Stand". He was shown as an advisor to the president in several scenes, including the Multiple Man decoy in the forest scene.
I’d take a machine gun modified with antitank bullets made from depleted uranium, a device that activates an EMP, and a shotgun for close quarters on the Sentinels.
Fastball Special in X-Men Days of Future Past run circa 1980: one of the greatest dystopian story arcs in comics history Sentinels wiped out all superhero’s not JUST mutants - in one of the issues there’s a terrifying line of of kills being The Vision, Dr Strange , Captain American - terrifying in its bleakly deterministic over forty plus years later . 💀👑🇺🇸😢🔥
I love the fact that in _The Last Stand_ Trask was a big black guy, and then in _Days of Future Past_ he was a white dwarf. X-men's continuity is fucked up!
so crazy that the Bolivar Trask brother is Simon Trask as in Simón Bolívar Libertador de América. Later, a nephew of Trask goes to Ecuador to gain control of a group of sentinels there.
As numerous as the Sentinels are, I am surprised supervillains don't hijack them for their plots all the time. The only ones who have done that are Onslaught and Kang the Conqueror.
"Trask"..seems to me to be a scramble of the letters in Stark. The characters even look alike atleast in the adaptation described in this video. Also the sentinels do remins me of the iron man suit. I know next to nothing of the X-men universe so this may all be intentional and allready thought of by many fans..just thought I'd point it out.
What a coincidence! Also, how convenient! I just finished watching DoFP (and it was awesome), and now you guys upload this video? It's just too good to be real! :D
I disagree, sir. The movie brought a much needed air of change to the franchise, through the *SPOILERS* new timeline, through the amazing cast (Hugh steals the spotlight as always, but with credit) and through the few sub-plots and easter eggs that were much appreciated. Brian Singer managed to revitalize a franchise that I thought was going to just die and be forgotten, due to the failures that were X-3 and Wolverine: the origin and I, as well as many others I'm sure, have to thank him deeply and congratulate for the accomplishment.
Your Italian Pal i felt the movie tried to be too much like a sequel to first class than the 4th of the series, they tried to cram every possible easter egg into the movie to tie in the rest of the series together. plus the ending is obvious sequel bait
And as the 90s cartoon put it best: “You were supposed to protect humans from mutants!” “That is not logical. Mutants *are* humans.” The truth hurts, doesn’t it Trask?
That'd be awesome if watch mojo could do multi-part vids for famous comic book arcs. That'd be an awesome way to get more comic book fans, especially fans who are hot off the heels of watching a comic book movie as an introduction. It'd also educate the masses on more comic book lore beyond the silver screen. That and it's be just awesome.
The Sentinal is my one of my favorite fighters to play as in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. My other favorite marvel villains from the game are Super Skrull and Taskmaster.
I had a problem with Trask being portrayed by Peter Dinklage. Don't get me wrong he's a fantastic actor in many roles Tirion Lanister being only one of those many, however isn't being a small person considered a mutation? Trask invented his sentinels to terminate mutants while he's no different? I find it odd that he was cast because you'd think he should have been more compassionate towards mutants if he were raised like Peter Dinklage.
Not if you consider that Trask was jealous that HIS mutation was a liability, but alot of "Mutants" get superpowers instead, and remain normal-looking,
You guys should do a superheros segment just as you did here. I've watched them all and love it. I would be more than happy to watch all again but would be more happy to watch new supervilians and heros videos. Glad I subscribed. I made a great decision.
What this video doesn't mention is the origin of the Sentinels from "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Trask had similar opinions on mutants to Stryker's, who helped him with the experiments. Trask, the world's leading weapons designer of the early 1970's, decided to build the Sentinels to "save mankind". Raven Darkholme, the master/mistress of disguise, was able to find out about the experiments, and under the influence of Erik Lensheer, hunt Trask down in order to stop the Sentinels from rising, to avenge the mutants from "X-Men: First Class" that died. On January 27, 1973, Raven found Trask, and killed him, marking the first time she had killed. She thought that killing him would solve the problems she was willing to, but it didn't. Stryker or someone captured her on that day a few split-seconds after Trask was killed, and Trask Industries and he experimented on her as well. Governments that first rejected Trask's idea, found reasons to support it. She was able to escape but ended up leaving stuff behind. The "stuff" left behind consisted of traces of her blood, some of her brain tissue and spinal stuff, etc. Everything she left behind that had her genetic codes in it. From 1973 to 1996, 8,732 Mark I Sentinels were created for the U.S., Israel, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia, India, the Moscow government, and the P.R.C. But from 1973-2013, Trask Industries and governments experimented on the genetic codes to create the Mark X Sentinels, which can adapt to any mutant power, which Raven could replicate after disguising as the respective mutant for the power. The Sentinels of 2013 were officially created and released that year, with humans rebelling to save the mutants, but becoming targets as well. By 2023, mutants, humans that carry the genetic codes for the abilities, and the humans daring to aid them, are victims to the Mark X, and the worst of humanity that, with all these governments collapsed, desire a one-world regime, probably similar to that of "A Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley.
I never understood why they cancelled Wolverine and the X-men. I thought it was good and the second season looked like it had some serious potential. Imagine a crossover with the Spectacular Spiderman. Damn, that would've been sweet.
dave smith what I meant was I didn't like the way they literally just wrecked everyone it was horrifying especially when they tore Colossus in half, I've never read the comics or anything to give an argument for the originals.
Hal Turner The Sentinels seen in the future are actually pretty accurate to the comic Days of Future Past. They are super intelligent, shoot energy blasts, and have the ability to shape shift. Fox Mulder Oo that cartoon was excellent. I gave it a 94 out of a 100. yes it was more exciting than the movies. Had to think about the aspects like Wolverine fighting on bullet train in Japan, sounds cool, looks better in the comics but doesn't have the same impact in the movie
Thankfully they're finally killing off the movies I can't stand theIr looks especially their dumb faces! Poor Gambit and Rouge we may never see their comic book relationship on the big screen. In fact they all got screwed.
Pity they didn't go into Trask's resurection. He was being controlled to speak against Mutants, but he suffered a lot of guilt and was desperate to make amends and stop the Sentinels. Then again, its just his origin they cover.
3 things 1, bill duke played him in xmen last stand. 2, sentinals targeted anyone in the marvel univers w/ powers of some kind. 3,dofp should have show that larry trask fin the project in the film destroying the world and that he had no true control overthem. and the 'worst of humanity" as logan said is being force into the sentials bidding or man will die.
i didnt read his comic books but after the new xmen im satarting to want the beginig of mercury can you guys make his origins so that i could understand and start reading his stories PLEASE
Funny thing. If professor Xavier just presented that with Cerebro he could solo enslave humanity, it might be a strong proof that he doesn't actually want that if he didn't do it yet.
The design for the sentinels in day of FP was fantastic. They seemed more cold and deadly then ever. Such a damn good movie.
less human as well. more machine.
In the future, the Mark 10 was shown, and in the past, it was the Mark 1.
The ones in the future look more like giant monsters than robots.
Yeah...
...but we didn't get to see Wolverine climb one....
In one episode of wolverine and the X-Men they set sentinels after magneto, he barely had to lift a finger to stop them
That show shouldn't've been canceled.
Leo Saffron Magneto is pretty much unstoppable... except against Plastic Man as plastic seems to be his weakness.
Yeah well...sentinels are not made of metal. "Space agent poly"
So trask has a irrational belief that mutants want to take over mankind so he builds killer robots to defend mankind from mutants but it turns out that mutants dont want to take over and his killer robots rebel and try to kill mankind. No he wanted to bring humanity together and the only way was for a common enemy, so he hunted down the mutants just like Hitler, he wanted to bring together the German population so he made an enemy that everyone hated which was the Jews.
And the reason why humans were killed was because the sentinels could tell if a human would have mutant descendants.
If Ultron gets his hands on the Sentinels, well it would be a different story.

“This military scientist created the most dangerous weapon the X-Men ever faced”
Sentinel 1: What is that object?
Sentinel 2: It appears to be the Ace of Spades.
*BOOM*
i understood that reference
I imagined the Sentinels would have been built solely to “defeat the mutant threat” and Trask forgot program human safety as a priority leading them to attack mutants with no regard for collateral damage
I just realized that "Trask" is an anagram of "Stark," as in "Tony Stark," aka Iron Man. Weird...
Dun dun DUNNN!! :O
How did I not see that?
I saw that too but luckily a midget wasn't cast as stark. Would've been a weird fucking looking iron man suit
Coming soon from 20th Century Fox. Iron Gnome.
Trask was originally going to be Stark. The Sentinels were going to be Stark technology. Stan Lee though changed his mind about Tony being a villain and changed a few letters around.

Fun fact: every time Logan faces a sentinel, he mostly slices off their heads.
I always thought Trask is spelled very similar to Stark on purpose. Both are genius robot makers.
And both made machines that nearly destroyed the world (at least by the movies)
What I do like about the Sentinels is that they pretty much never lost their original look until the latest movie, and even then they only lost that look because they were the upgraded versions of their former selves

Agreed. The 90's cartoon nailed nearly everything.
In x men days of future past I thought Bastion would b in it 4 sure I mean he's a sentinel 2 right?! Also he would've kicked some ass!
I like the Days Future Past 70's Sentinels. They were very realistic.
heartlessangel7 all in all the Xmen days of Future past was an awesome movie and the sentinels were great ok!?
The version from the animated series was the best design
I, of course, was raised on the Fox X-men version of things, so it surprises me that not only did Trask die so quickly, but that the Sentinels rebelled almost immediately.
Sounds like the X-Men back then were pretty useless. Xavier basically did all the work to dealing with that initial crisis.
The sentinels actually killed wolverine in Days of Future Past.
...he got better....

played by one of the bad guys in Arnold Schwarzenegger flim Commando
I was just going to call them out on that.
I’d take a machine gun modified with antitank bullets made from depleted uranium, a device that activates an EMP, and a shotgun for close quarters on the Sentinels.
"Wouldn't it be *groovy* if he's a mutant himself?"
Trask was just a "small" problem in x men days of future past

Do Moon Knight.

They should do a episode dedicated to Hulk, just show how badass he is.

He was also in the Ultimate Spider-man comic books with the connections with Peter Parker and Eddie Brock Jr's family about the Venom suit.
Its about time to do a Mister Sinister origin.
Do origins of the original guardians of the galaxy
when the lights of the sentinel turn on is like wow that sound

3 things 1, bill duke played him in xmen last stand. 2, sentinals targeted anyone in the marvel univers w/ powers of some kind. 3,dofp should have show that larry trask fin the project in the film destroying the world and that he had no true control overthem. and the 'worst of humanity" as logan said is being force into the sentials bidding or man will die.
I just finished watching days of futures past right before this vid
"Finally some characters with the propper back-story told in correctly in the movies" - said every nostalgia-filed snob ever
I want to see more of the villain Bastion; he's fused with Nimrod and Master Mold.
i didnt read his comic books but after the new xmen im satarting to want the beginig of mercury can you guys make his origins so that i could understand and start reading his stories PLEASE
2:23 Xavier could read ROBOTIC BRAINS?
Funny thing. If professor Xavier just presented that with Cerebro he could solo enslave humanity, it might be a strong proof that he doesn't actually want that if he didn't do it yet.
These Sentinels are unstoppable and OP as fuck in the Xmen Days of Future Past.
you guys need to do Krang and Shredder.
