    HI,
    As an old gamer who's been gaming since 1986 I personally developed a standard Modus operandi regarding buying games:
    1. Never (ever) preorder a game no matter what you've been told, heard or seen.
    2. Never buy a game Day 1.
    3. Always check independant reviews/gameplay on the game BEFORE buying any game.
    4. If you have the patience: wait +/- a year after release then buy the game at -70% on sale + all DLCs.

      I took your advice and bought the game on the Steam Summer Sale for 6 dollars. Which also includes the season pass. My game crashes in Prague though when on DX 12. My system is more than capable. I get 120+ fps with very high settings.

      @@adamothman1124 I think it's a great game. It really depends. If you liked Human Revolution or Immersive Sims in general you will like it. The gameplay is better than Human Revolution but story and atmosphere are a little worse.

    Games are being sliced up and sold to us bit by bit through DLC and Micro transactions and the more we buy the more they slice up and sell us, STOP BUYING IT FFS!

      DLC had so much potential for developers to give us more frequent content, extra units in RTS games etc, contact with the community, LOADS of potential but it's just used to fuck us all up the arse from day one, it's bullshit. You wait for a game hyped to fuck... it pops on the store half finished and yup there it is... that fucking £40 season pass or some elite rifle for £3.99 or other bullshit. I'm glad I got to see gaming before this garbage... I'd never know any different. I feel bad for gamers that think this is how it's always been.

      "you don't have to buy them". "i can afford it". It's consumers who say these things that make this type of business model so acceptable to developers these days. Remember back when you paid for a game and it was complete? When did buying an incomplete game then buying the remaining pieces become okay?

    • @prince_warhero
      @prince_warhero 8 лет назад +3

      Who said this is incomplete game ? This is a fully complete game with about 30 hrs play time.. Do you know what the micro transactions are for ? they are for in-game money. eg gta online.. There are no pieces here. As i said no content of the game is hidden behind the microtransaction

      Microtransactions are a negative to a game. I think devs did not allow the paid reviews to mention them.
      Like PC reviews not mentioning 30FPS cutscenes that pulls you out from an amazing smooth experience to a stuttery blurry mess in a Fully priced Seasoned Passed Micro Infested cashgrab of a cheap game.

      How better to show modern AAA is shit, but showing how the old boys did it better. It's the sort of thing that sparks "renaissance" in an industry- if not from the top then certainly the new blood. (Sort of like how Shovel Knight took the best bits of old platformers).

    • @ChaoGuy2006
      @ChaoGuy2006 8 лет назад +1

      In light of games like Batman Arkham and Shadow of Mordor- it strips difficulty. How early could you get X-ray in the old and new game, and how much does it show?
      Perhaps Mack felt it showed too much and made it too easy compared to the point in the game you can first get it?

    • @ThePandema
      @ThePandema 6 лет назад +13

      Yeah but I’m the original you had to work your freakin ARSE off to get the X-ray vision. And you wouldn’t get it till near the end of the game, so it feels earned. Here you can buy it with your Visa card and completely waltz through the game with no challenge whatsoever. So I’m with Mack, it is a fucking joke.

      +Topdamagewizard Support the pirates instead? Sounds like a good logic. No wonder why devs are releasing shitty badly optimised triple A games on pc. They are not focusing on pc because they know they will be robbed anyway.

    • @SpenzOT
      @SpenzOT 8 лет назад

      What a shill of an excuse that is. Not focused on PC because of piracy? You say that as if console piracy isn't a thing, when the used game market, essentially sanctioned piracy, was robbing millions from these moron AAA developers. It certainly didn't stop them from still focusing on the console market. No. Piracy is just a convenient excuse some game makers use to justify their half-assed cash grabs (PC ports). There is no basis in fact to support their claims anyhow, and Valve already shoved a giant baby pacifier in the mouths of these whiny game publishers and devs when Steam essentially revived the PC game market with no excuses and no man-baby tears.

    • @indranilroychowdhury3379
      @indranilroychowdhury3379 8 лет назад

      SpenzOT Console piracy isn't nearly as big as PC. Don't give me that shit. In our country, 95% pc gamers(cunts) play pirated games. Ps2 and Xbox 360 have hacks but but Ps4, Ps3 Xbox one hacks are not even available here. People can buy original console games from stores. I just showed an example. It's the same case in most of the countries. Mack mentioned this in Far Cry 4 review but he didn't mention it later on. Rockstar Games said in an interview that they wont be releasing Red Dead on pc because of the hackers.

    It's so depressing to see 99% of the population condoning micro transactions, day one dlc and just plain greed from developers. Taking an individual stand against then feels like a lost cause

    • @ChaoGuy2006
      @ChaoGuy2006 8 лет назад +3

      The only ones we hear saying that's all successful are the people who make it. They wouldn't tell us if no one bought it now would they?
      And never silence yourself. Always speak up. It encourages others who feel the same to join in.
      Go to their forums and complain. Go to their social media accounts and complain. Go to all your online forums and message boards and complain. It breeds "memetic information" that spreads.
      Never deny the world the power of your opinion.

      And while I'm here, i'd just like to point out that when i use the word "population" i am obviously talking about the gaming population, not the entire world population. Anyway, its time for you to respond and pick out where i should have used a comma or spell check my text for me.

    People who defend microtransactions don't understand scaling and second-order effects.
    One player opting in or out is irrelevant. Hundreds of thousands of players spending millions of dollars supporting a system that rewards greed and ruins games is something else entirely. For better or worse, you'll get what you pay for.

    One thing I love about these games and Ive finished all of them multiple times is that; I play the game like splinter cell, im incredibly stealthy and im aiming not to enter any combat at all. i dont even want to be discovered. but, as shown in your review, you can go through this game just semi stealth (or even guns blazing) and its just as rewarding, just as fun, and just as much of a challenge. And the game caters to this with the wide variety in overt and covert augments :)

    Jim Sterling just released another update. According to an inside source from Eidos, the micro transactions were forced on them by Square Enix. Eidos had no intentions for it, designed game as if they weren't there but at the end as they were finalizing bug fixes Square Enix made them add it.

    • @fastdak25

    And I don't understand why you have such a strong preference for first person
    Games are made to have fun too
    Not always be 'hardcore' all the time
    Yes I have played more FPS than TPS
    But you gotta realize it's not just today that TPS games are appearing they have here for decades

    I've gotta say, Mack. I was honestly tempted to buy this game on the day it was released, but then I remembered that amidst all of the greed and paid reviewers, there's one beacon of hope and reason whom I can truly, honestly trust. It's you, Mack. I didn't buy it, even though I already counted the money on my bank account and did the calculations on whether I'd survive until the next rent if I did. I read reviews and reseached the subject but I just couldn't shake the paranoia; couldn't trust a single review I read.
    I'm so, so very glad that I waited and saw your review of it. As the game stands right now, I'm not going to buy it for the price they're asking me to pay. Maybe after Steam's Christmas sales or something of the sort, but not now. It's honestly a huge shame because I started to play through Human Revolution and got halfway through, just to amp myself up for Mankind Divided. But lo and behold, they managed to ruin this game, too. Damn shame.
    Once again, huge thanks. You've saved me, and no doubt countless others, a lot of money. Keep being great, Mr. Beacon of Reason. :)

    Previous squabbles aside, I appreciate ya Mack. I only had a mild interest in this (because I don't buy brand new games), but I did take a look at some impressions and various reviews from major sites... Had I not seen a post on reddit talking about it, this video would've been the first and only thing I'd heard of the micro-transactions, which is flabbergasting because of how insulting they are in this case. To go through reviews/videos of over half a dozen of the biggest sites, and to not see a single word about it is frankly insane. What, was the button and store page completely hidden before the day 1 patch AND they're completely incapable of editing their articles after launch? You not only called them on their bullshit, but you where willing to tank the rating because of it. That's exactly what I would've done, and i really respect you for doing the same.
    On a more technical side, thankfully even though it has Denuvo and in-game microtransactions, they didn't seem to really obfuscate the values for the things they are charging for among others, so for the time being Cheat Engine and trainers are working as usual and you can get around all these things. That's not to say that this won't change however... a quick transition to cloud-verified saves or even outright online-only DRM isn't outside of the realm of possibility. The real teller for me is going to be if they decide to take any action with patching after a bunch of RUclips videos and reddit threads pop up showing how to get infinite amounts of everything they're selling with seconds of effort... Though regardless unless they completely undo it all and say sorry, all the console players are out of luck. If they wanted people to experiment and have fun, good ol' cheat codes would've done that while deserving praise rather than the (hopefully) massive backlash to come...

      +Cristian Villavicencio I don't think consoles have anything to do with it. I'm a console player and I'm playing divinity original sin and that shit is as old school as it gets. Classic CRPG running on a console and I'm having a blast. It's all up to the developer, if they wanna do a Bethesda or if they truly want to make a great game, it's up to them.

    • @TherrusD
      @TherrusD 8 лет назад +1

      ZeroHxC07
      Oh there are worse then bethesda, them supporting modding is actually a huge thing IMHO. Square Enix, EA,Activision, Ubisoft...the list can go on a lot longer. Nowadays these guys are pretty big and they make big piles of bantha piss which wasn't always the case.
      I don't think it's consoles alone that are to blame but rather the consumer in general. I will NOT buy a game with microtransaction out of principle but others will and will even pay for the microtransactions showing devs/publishers hey: people want this shit.
      Yet I have to say consoles are part of the problem. You can't make a game complicated for console gamers because they only have like what? 12 buttons? Other ways to make them complex are with depth of character development...which some devs no longer do.
      Streamline is the word and I fucking despise it with all my might.

      +Cloudstar MacLeod I agree but streamlining is not always bad, it's just the evolution of thing before use to take 4 button presses now take 1. That is not the problem it's hat your said, it the lack of depth in the games themselves. It b cause current gamers want instant gratification, compare bf1 and verdun, same setting but they games are completely different. One is focused on realism and being careful and playing the game right. On the other hand bf1 is all about running around like a jackass. Guess witch game is gonna die first?

    Mack, I'll tell you, you make me laugh, really make me laugh all the time. I just watched this video, and I also laughed, but then I realized how much of a PC gamer you really are, and how much love you have for it. Am I offended that you feel the way you do about console jockeys? NO... not in the sense of it, but I do want you to realize something about us, and about me, really. I have specific reasons that i play console games, I grew up on them ever since Atari, and have never stopped and have never thrown my love away for them since then.. Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo.. I could go on but I think you get the point. There's nothing wrong with sitting in front of a television, controller in hand, and enjoying a game. That's what it's all about, at least for me. Just trying to throw some personal thought your way, we love ya, and we appreciate your reviews just the same as anyone else. Your verdict makes no sense. The game isn't ruined at all by some optional microtransactions. Not-at-all. I paid 30 euros for my copy and have no need to even look at the microtransactions. Everything is fine. I appreciate the effort of the publisher and devs to make a product that I care about, which cost them tens of millions to make, and that I can grab for 30-60 euros. If some people wanna support the publisher for them to continue making games like these, I'm fine by that. It's kind of like buying a t-shirt from a youtuber to support them. It's optional.

    • @AstralFrost
      @AstralFrost 8 лет назад +2

      fuckyea.
      I'm buying the game because this simply won't affect my experience. I'm not taking up the political cause of others out of some sense of guilt they want me to feel. Paying for shortcuts is tacky. I wish they were just free cheat codes. But in the grand scheme of things, I don't care.

    • @AstralFrost
      @AstralFrost 8 лет назад +2

      Certainly not everyone, but I've witnessed a lot of guilting over the years to do with just this sort of thing. I think you take a balanced approach and I appreciate that, but not everyone is so reasonable.

    • @Syrupstorm

      You just don't get it man, it's not about not needing it or ignoring it or wether or not it affected the experience. It is an objective suspect business practice. It is in their best interest to sell you more shit, and even if IN THIS CASE IT DIDNT AFFECT THE GAME you are supporting something that is opening you up for a good throat fucking later. So good luck with that.

    • @AstralFrost
      @AstralFrost 8 лет назад

      The notion that this is a bad practice seems to rely on an appeal to tradition. They've adjusted their business model and there's nothing inherently wrong with that. It's down to the way you think about it and what your notions of fairness are.

    • @Syrupstorm
      @Syrupstorm 8 лет назад +3

      Hows the balance? Doesn't matter they can buy skill points if they need em. Hows the economy? Does it matter they can buy gold/credits if they need them? Hows the progression? Well we're literally selling every indication of player progression does it really matter? ^where I see it going
      But hey if you trust a company to be looking out for your wallet and not have their own best interests at heart that's cool I guess.
      Personally I will never buy a 60$ single player experience where the first question I have to ask is "was this final product compromised by an attempt to get more money out of micro transactions." If a dev doesn't even respect the balance of their own "art" why should I.

  • @Tr33fiddy
    @Tr33fiddy 8 лет назад +12

    Bit harsh Mack. Of all the micro-transaction business models, pay-to-cheat (which is what this is) is surely the most benign. If you can't complete a game normally, on the easiest level or too stupid to learn how to crack a single-player game once you have completed it, let the devs make a little more from that incompetence/stupidity.
    Mitigating this without transactions would mean fewer people would get to play the whole game, more frustration, bad reviews etc. from the people who are simply no good at games. Result; devs dumb-down the game ruining it for people like you and I.
    A pure micro-transaction model would be pay-to-win (mitigating learning & skill), pay-to-access (base game, more content not accessible) or pay-to-play (timers) - all of which fundamentally alter the core experience for all players.
    This model simply ensures that the base game is authentic enough for the 'hardcore' player and accessible enough for the 'casual' player (or perhaps disabled?). For the devs, the authenticity ensures they serve the long-time fanbase, the accessibility ensures that all players can play it through to the end without frustration and all of the content and experience they spent time crafting can be experienced by all.
    Essentially they are monetising cheat codes. *shrug*

    • @eddebrock
      @eddebrock 8 лет назад +6

      Having cheats for sale incentivizes companies to make games more unfair in order to get people to buy the cheats.
      It is quite likely that they don't give out as many perk-points as they would've without the shop.

    • @Tr33fiddy
      @Tr33fiddy 8 лет назад +1

      eddebrock okay, I agree it *could* incentivise developers to make games harder and potentially only winnable by buying "cheats".
      Can you cite where this has happened? We're talking about a game so hard that you - or at least the vast majority of players - can only finish a game by cheating.

    • @budthecyborg4575

      The thumbs down is definitly a bit harsh but the review explains his logic quite well. Mack still delivers some of the best reviews on RUclips.
      I bought the game and my verdict is "get it during the Christmas sale" just because of the condition of mouselook, a few bugs, and the framerate issues.

    • @budthecyborg4575
      @budthecyborg4575 8 лет назад

      At least Mack rebinds his keys.
      I use RDFG for movement keys, Mack does TFGH and as far as I know he's the only reviewer on RUclips who actually uses non-standard keybinds.
      That makes Mack different.
      TotalBiscuit does talk about keybinds but I get the impression he usually plays on WASD, it can be hard to catch some of the problems that games have unless you re-bind every command in the game.
      Mack also has some of the most relevant reviews on racing games, I appreciate that.

      ...That's weird, you're right that my comment isn't related to what Tr33fiddy said. I might have been reacting to other comments when I wrote that.
      While I personally don't think the microtransactions in Deus Ex are a big deal, I'm fine if Mack makes a big fuss about it, the attitude is understandable.
      Seeing these in what Totalbiscuit calls "the quintessential PC game" could be seen as a bit insulting, it has to do with the attitude of the publisher toward the franchise.
      Are they treating it like a flagship title for the PC platform?
      Mack is reacting to this game differently than he would any other because of the pedigree, you don't eat fast food in a classic Ferrari and you don't put microtransactions in a Deus Ex game.
      People react to things differently depending on how much they care about the subject, this review just reflects how much Mack cares about the franchise.

    I think this game is fine how it is. The gaming industry is not gonna stop cash grabbing. Its like expecting politicians being honest. I think if the game isnt broken and incomplete then who cares. If your going to thumb down cash grab then you will like maybe 3 games a year. So we should all accept it and pipe down is what you;re saying? I'm glad Mack thumbed the game down and Jim Sterling's stance on micro-transactions means games that have them are void for his GOTY lists.
      There are many games with the right price points and no micro-transactions and it's actually used as PR when a game has free DLC or a reasonable price now! (The Witcher 3). this is becoming far too common with AAA games and should be spoken out against by everyone; fans, youtubers, reviewers, media etc... at every opportunity and for every game that has such a disgusting system

      +Kevin Wilson okay hero lets see how thumbing down actually changes business practices for most of the gaming industry. Listen I agree with your objections but I'm a realist. Plus also I not really bothered by things that do not impact my gaming experience. When you buy a car if you want the leather seats and climate control air con. You gonna pay more than basic seats and a fan heater. If i think a game (destiny) is incomplete at launch then i wait and guy GOTY edition instead.

      tattoodrdoke "When you buy a car if you want the leather seats and climate control air con. You gonna pay more than basic seats and a fan heater"
      I don't see what this has to do with Micro-transactions or the "Augment your preorder" debacle that Square Enix is being roundly criticised for right now? Your analogy means you get what you pay for, quality costs money, we all get that. However, the Micro-transactions in this game and pre-order shite brought zero value to the game, this isn't a huge DLC expansion to the game adding actual value, (I have no problem with MOST DLC or F2P prices in games) It's a disgusting micro-transaction in a full price game! No doubt some kids will convince their parents to fork out for a few of these packs. And that's who I feel sorry for! that is why I will criticise it, because it's the parents that are getting fucked and it will only get worse if everyone took your attitude.

    I have been a fan of the Deus Ex series ever since the original. I even enjoyed the admittedly rather flawed second game, Invisible War.
    Both Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are amazing games. I recommend them without reservation. All in all, they really managed to maintain the legacy of the original game.
    The one criticism I might mention is that, while these games do offer the classic multi-path approach in which you can choose your preferred way to handle challenges, they definitely seem to reward you more for playing in a particular way. That way being, specifically, stealthy non-lethal combat while hacking everything in sight.
    Sure, you can bypass those guards instead of knocking them out, but then you miss out on the XP.
    Sure, you found a note giving you the password to the commander's computer, but you had best hack it anyway so that you get the XP.
    And going loud in combat, despite your cool arsenal, definitely leaves XP on the table.
    Since I happen to naturally prefer the style of gameplay that the games seem to want, I'm fine. However, I do think that it's a pity that different approaches don't have essentially the same reward in terms of XP.

    • @NickNiccelson
      @NickNiccelson 8 лет назад +3

      "if that enhances their game experience" Then they can go fuck a fish skeleton. Wanna know why? Because when the singular progression system of a videogame has the power to take more money from you, there is *no* incentive for the developers to make it fair for anyone who refuses to pay extra. *WHY would a designer take the time to make the levelling in a FPS-RPG balanced when they can be lazy with said balancing and be rewarded with microtransaction revenue from IDIOTS?*
      Dead Space 3 had it, MGSV had it and now an actual good game from a franchise with pedigree has it. This phenomenon is LITERAL cancer and for once, I'm with Mack 100 fucking percent on the issue. Let me spell it out to all developers: I. DON'T. TRUST. YOU. If a retail-priced singleplayer has ANY microtransactions in existence, I'm already assuming you WILL skew the systems to milk maximum cash from them. If you wouldn't, *why are they even fucking there?*
      To quote TotalBiscuit: "You used to put in a cheat code, now they want you to put in a credit card." If you defend this practice, go die from eating powdered glass. You are literally defending the hooligan who is pissing in everyone's swimming pool.

The issue we have nowadays is content is stripped off the full game and sold as an addition. It's horrendous and is purely an exercise in greed. If they want to release additional content, release expansion packs where there was actual decent content worth getting. Not this DLC 5 or 6 out of 10 rated crap.

    I don't see microtransactions spoiling this game in as much it doesn't appear to make the game a lesser experience if you ignore them.
    But I do see the problem if this becomes common. Microtransactions are for freemium games, and don't have a place in a £40 game that's for sure. The actual game developers doing the coding are a decent crowd, but remember they're under the cosh of a big business and industry looking to make as much cash as possible from us. Do you really think they actually care about gamers? They care about making money foremost.
    If this shit becomes the norm in AAA titles then overtime they will surely be abused by companies to make microtransactions a near requirement of playing on top of the already hefty ticket price. I guess in reality we're halfway there, so much DLC in games today is trash; they already prey on completionist fans that 'must' buy them all.

Why bother with QA when everyone kinda expect the game to be broken on release, why not grab some money off microtransactions if everyone is okay with it, why bother with polishing the game if you can release it now and patch it later etc etc. As for me - I want to play it, but since developers dont want to give me 100% of the game for the full price I will buy GOTY edition in a year at the price of "pay-us-at-least-something"

    I totally agree Mack, if a AAA full-priced $60 dollar game has a micro-transaction, its a complete bullshit, people don't see the bigger picture, if we let this kind of bullshit run loose, it will be socially accepted, the future of gaming industry will be grim

    At least they didn't tack on a pvp, progression-based, kill-streak enabling, case unlocking multiplayer mode. But it's a shame that the infectious corporate aspect is starting to impact this series, because I ADORE it, especially the first. That said, Human Revolution had some of the same problems Mankind Divided has......which is also a shame.

    I'm having a blast playing through it. All I can hope for at this point is that when they inevitably release DLC, that it won't be trash. I hope you get some seriously good gameplay, story, weapons and mechanics, but at this point I'm not holding my breath. For DLC I want to see an entire new city to explore with a whole side story to go through. It'll be the same old song and dance though, I bet for 15 bucks you get a SINGLE mission, or another 9.99 you'll get some fancy golden AK-47, and for 7.99 you can get new sunglasses and a duster.

    I don't understand why so many people have a problem with the X-RAY vision. Even the very first Deus Ex had sonar vision that allowed you to see enemies through walls, so it's not really new in the franchise ;)

    Like the old saying goes fools and their money can easily be parted, that rings very true when it comes to micro transactions, to pay for a game and then avoid having to play it by paying extra to skip through it to the end defies the point of buying the game in the first place. It's like buying a movie on DVD and paying extra to have the privilege of not having to watch it.

    I have a weird relationship with deus ex. I remember human revolution and start playing. I go hard and play it pretty far through in just a couple days~weeks, then life kicks in, I can't play for a little while, and I forget about it. A couple years down the line, the cycle repeats. I didn't get mankind divided on release; I just started playing human revolution again, and forgot all about deus ex again.
    We're 3 years down the line now. I just got Deus Ex GOTY and mankind divided + all DLC for 10eu total. Fucking amazing value.

    just one thing. please dont tell i am not a gamer if i disagree, even if i really dont, but i dont really have a choice, nor did the developers. you think they put it in there to ruin the game, or because SQUARE told them to?
    BOYCOTT SQUARE, not the devs.
    also i played deus ex HR on a 360 when i was 14 and i absolutely loved every second, bite me.

    The mouselook support on this game is ridiculous, I'd say wait a few months for a patch if you care about getting a really good first experience.
    Mouse acceleration is permanently enabled, and the lowest sensitivity is only good enough for most people if you're using 400DPI, it's pretty archaic.
    Personally, if the sensitivity slider goes down far enough I prefer using 20cm/360 at 6,000DPI, it makes mouselook silky smooth.
    Most people use a lower turning rate, sometimes upwards of 80cm/360 so they're using the same in game sensitivity as I am only with a 1,600DPI mouse, and in either case the lowest in game sensitivity in Mankind Divided is not nearly low enough.

    I'm playing the game without xray vision and third person (I never even use the F key) and the game is fine.
    I wish the game had been balanced better and not had these features, but this is honestly the only high-production stealth game we're going to get this year, so... yeah. I'm enjoying it just on those grounds.

    I love the game for what it is. But I do agree that this DLC shit is unacceptable and should not be rewarded with a purchase.
    I just wish Square weren't so scummy because the game itself is damn good.
    P.S. The mouse acceleration you felt is because the game doesn't have a mouse sensitivity slider, it's actually a mouse acceleration slider! Try putting it to 0, you will immediately understand what I mean! Greets from a patreon supporter :)

    Just watched Jim Sterling's video on this and found this bit of info out. The micro-transactions in the game were grayed out on review copies. None of the reviewers were aware you could just buy praxis points in the campaign. That feature was unlocked on launch day. Talk about uber shady practices.

    I actually had a different experience with the stealing. I stole a credit chip and the guy gave a warning. Second chip I stole, turned the area into a restricted area and all his buddies started staring at me all funny.

    Microtransactions violate the principle of a complete game on purchase. Sadly, they're not going away anytime soon. I try to look past them because there's only so many decent games in a given year and I don't intend on depriving myself of a good experience just because of one bad thing that greedy corporations put in that I can ignore.

    "This time it didn't ruin the product guys so its ok"/sigh
    No this time it seems to not be too much of an issue. In the future it will be, and they will be abusing it left and right until you don't even know how much you should be paying to play it the way it was intended anymore. Hey though this one time when they were just testing the waters you supported it so I'm sure you wont mind when they dive in headfirst.

    I didn't realise this one had nickel and dining in it. I mean I don't mind paying for little cosmetic changes, like ship skins, maybe things like different jackets but paying for extra progression, that's a new low taken from mobile games. Man what a shame.

    Well, Square Enix and many other companies have been doing booster DLCs for years. Same principle as microtransactions, buying advantage within a game, now they just went one step further. There's nothing really can be done about it. At least the game is actually good, right?

    I don't get the hate towards third person camera. I mean, if you have a personal preference towards playing in first person, then coolio. But it's not like it's that bad.
    Microtransactions, though? Yeah, I'm pretty sure we can all agree on that.

    The game uses diffuse lighting which is not really compatible with MSAA. An alternative AA should be used with this game if you want good frame rates.

    I can't identify with you on the optimization part. Perhaps because I've bought the game 1 year after it came out and yes, the game struggles hard in Max Settings at 4K to keep 50-55 FPS and it could be better, but they might have updated the game and managed to improve it's stability. The game still drops some FPS every once in a while, obviously loading some effects and other stuff and it could be much better and stable, but I average 50-55 FPS in 4K.
