  • Hubbard brook experimental forest is in Woodstock NH. It is a 5000 acre research forest where acid rain was first discovered over 50 years ago.
A study group from BIO4Climate.org reviewing the book " Beaver Land; How one weird rodent made America" by Leila Philip, decided to take a field trip to view the area described in one of the chapters. Nature, with the help of beavers, have a big restorative impact in our wetlands and forest.
The take away is "slow the flow" of water and let it soak in. Beaver dams do this very well and they replenish our ground water, help prevent flooding and enrich our soil.
