Lol Robbie you are so cute. I don't like spiders either. Dang your spiders are really big and persistent buggers. I can see why you would want a clean slate. I too did not have good luck with my carrots and other veggies. To busy with big patio build. I'm going to try again next year. Wish me luck. Oh loved your music. Suits your fun loving upbeat personality. 😊
“What did I do? I don’t even like squash” - I feel you Robbie! I decided I’m not doing the veggies anymore. I just don’t have the space and the bug pressure on them is just too much. I also am not a fan of spiders, they freak me out. As long as they aren’t near my house or in my plants, I don’t mind them. The garden clean-up was so satisfying… blank slate for new things!
Wow, looks great, Ihave had a veggie garden 10 yrs now but even though Iscaled back can not keep up with the harvest, getting older and don't have the time to can and cook like I used to, so also thinking cut flowers with a very small scale veggie garden in so cal.
Hanging baskets are dead to me! I will never ever ever never ever do another hanging basket! I appreciate your videos your honesty thanks for being you!
Hi Robbie! It's always good seeing Brent and Freya, too. That has to be so satisfying for you. It looks great and I'm looking forward to you turning it into a cut flower garden. Thank you so much for shring!
I keep thinking I should grow some veggies and you managed to put that demented thought to bed in 15 minutes and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! That was such a satisfying video! Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Thank you for being you! I so appreciate your honesty. And your sense of humor - “I am done.” I do like the vertical pot wall and can’t wait to see what you put there. I decided that I am not a veggie gardener too at least until we cut back some trees to get more sun in. I love the joy that colorful flowers bring.
Robbie I feel you. I just can’t get into growing vegetables. I have a fig tree. And I had a lemon tree but that died in a freeze. So that was that. As challenging as ornamentals are, veggies are a whole world of work I admit I’m not up for. My hat’s off to the veggie gardeners!
Robbie…you crack me up…”again that is not my rooster” 😂😂😂😂. You need to have a video of just the sounds of nature in your garden especially the rooster…people will love it!
Love the music Robbie and every time I see Brent I’m like OOOHH there is Brent. I love you guys. Tell him not to be scared to be on camera. He’s such a cutie
While I love to eat vegetables, I have accepted that I don’t enjoy growing them. When something in your garden doesn’t bring you joy, it’s time to replace it with something that will. I look forward to seeing your cut flower garden return in this area.
Veggie gardens can be messy and difficult to manage in containers, especially ones like squash. I love fresh tomatoes, so I have chosen to add my favorite varieties to my flower beds. Also herbs make great foliage fillers for flower arrangements. I don't have the space or patience to manage a large number of veggies in my garden. I have chosen what I really like and will use.
I have the worst problem with spiders too! I feel bad knocking them down but they are creepy lol This is such a great reminder that if something doesn’t bring you joy, change it. The flower garden is going to be gorgeous! Great job Robbie and Brent!
Robbie I am like you a wild veggie garden here, hubby doesn’t like many veggies what a waste of plants and water all the heat did damage not enough production, so next year will do much less 😂, can’t wait to see what you do in that area, it’s so pretty just needs the change 💐🌺🌼🌸 no 🕷 please 😆
Me too. Robbie is the best supporter such a blessing. He is always promoting her videos & letting his viewers know about her hoping for the same to come his way. Many blessings to you Robbie.
I was at this exact point last year. I imploded my Large veggie garden in beginning of August when all was about to reap produce. I was just OVER it! I think people thought I had lost my mind- but I made the space into a perennial and cut flower garden. Very pleased with that decision. No regrets. Good for you to go with your heart/gut. No shame in it. RIP IT UP Robbie! I applaud you.
Oh Robbie - I so get you on the spiders. I wear exam gloves while gardening because between the mosquitoes and the spiders I get bites all over my hands. Can’t wait to see the cut flower garden. I loved your last one.
You just freed the gardener! There’s nothing worse than feeling like a failure because you haven’t tackled every phase of gardening or done well at it and you just gave everyone permission to pick and choose those things that bring them joy. I gave up on starting plants from seeds this year after many failed attempts. I finally decided I don’t do it well and it’s OK.
@robinpearce7686 I tried to grow a bunch of veggies from seed , I've done it for years, this year not one came up carrots, spinach, lettuce, all new seeds too! It would seem by some of the gardening pages on facebook, I was not alone , everyone seems to have had garden issues this year! But I'm over it...I will grow what I know I can grow , and save time and money !
Pulled some plants yesterday. Some veggies are done or eat by birds. So pulled most. Left some spinach for the birds. They seem to love it. Next year I’m going to do cut flowers as well as some tomatoes for sauce making.
Spiders, they are freaky 🕷️😬 I don’t like bugs, period ……..! What a difference removing all of those plants plants made. You guys are going to have so much fun designing the entire area, the videos are going to be amazing 🤩 💚
Yes!! I also just pulled some long time plants that were past their time/neglected care 😞. I dont feel too bad because an empty spot is like a blank canvas and change is good.
Thank you for the spider warning. I have a life long phobia and seriously jump even just seeing them on the screen. But for some reason I looked for a second anyway 😂 I love my garden veggies and flowers both. But I'm all for growing what you love, and can't wait to see yours in bloom!!!!! 😍
It would keep the dust down if you put in gravel or decomposed granite in. That’s what I have in my veggie garden and it also keep the weeds down. Love what you did. You can breathe easier!!!
Ooooof, so much BETTER! And I would say, "Frig the spiders, I'm getting rid of them!"!!! You could have fried the Squash flowers. Apparently they are absolutely delicious!
As I was watering my veg garden this morning I was thinking about ripping it out. I have watered every day this summer. Yet because of the intense heat I have had only a few vegs. It's become a waste of water. I love veg but they aren't doing well. Time to clean it up!😊
Robbie, I like how real you are, you jump right in and say (I don't even know what I was thinking, ripping it out). I feel you free us up for what ever decisions we want to make ,then go WHAT! out you go! It is an on going learning process. Has this been the year for spiders? I have them also.
Good morning. Enjoy the summer rain. I live in the West Coast of Canada and we have summer rain and boy is it a pleasure. Then I do the happy dance as I don't have to water the gardens. The once veggie garden looks big with all the over grown veggies removed. That will be some real estate to plant a cut flower garden. Fingers crossed that there will be no spiders and pest in the cut flowers. You two did a wonderful job. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
You are braver than I cleaning out that area which is full of spiders, and not wearing garden gloves! I was just thinking you probably have some poisonous spiders then you mentioned the black widows!! Omg! I think you are right in clearing all that out and starting fresh, but I'd be wearing gauntlet garden sleeves and gloves regardless of how hot it is!! Like you, I hate spiders too! And snakes!!! In my zone 5a in eastern Ontario, Canada, at least we don't have any poisonous spiders or snakes. I love my hula hoe.....best garden tool EVER!! Makes weeding so much easier and 'almost' fun! lol
My favorite thing about your channel is that I get the perspective of someone in a completely different growing zone. It's interesting to me to see what things happen at different times of year, and what's exactly the same. This year in my garden, the spiders have been sentinels and I've had very little other pest pressure because of it. I also have Daddy Longlegs which are great because they don't spin webs.
Robbie, you crack me up "they're dead to me" so literally accurate! My husband just put in 6 new raised beds for cut flowers, the biggest mistake was giving 1 of them to baby pumpkins & cucumbers (pressured by hubby), they've taken over my sunflowers!! I agree do cut flowers!! My zinnias, snapdragons, celosia, amaranth, salvia are amazing in the other raised beds. You will love it!
I agree, no more veggies. Too much time and effort for too little produce. Since you have all those brick, would you consider brick paths in the flower garden?
Robbie, Tell us how you really feel. LOL LOL You crack me up but I totally understand and find it satisfying when I pull things out that are just 'done'.
But more importantly, WHERE are your gloves? Especially with the black widows you mentioned. I see Brent wearing his gloves 👍👍👍I learned the hard way and now don't do anything in the garden w/o them.
I'm with you on the veggie garden! This year was a bust for me, and I already started pulling mine out to get ready for a fall garden. I love seeing more of Brent helping you! You work great together 😊 It's nice of you to wear Janey's shirt to help promote her merchandise. You and Brent are getting so much done, and I can't wait to follow the process ❤
Spiders are the worst part of gardening. I’m terrified of them and sometimes just give up on some areas of the veggie garden when a spider seems to have taken up residence. It makes complete sense for you to take out the veggie garden because of spiders and not enjoying the veggies. I’m such a wimp and wear gloves, long sleeve shirts and pants, a hat, and pull my socks over the bottom of my pants because I’m so scared of spiders. I’m sure to have nightmares now. You are Brent sure make a great team!!
I totally get it. Spiders and mosquitoes are a huge deal breaker for me. I’m always the first to get bitten 😢 Love the choice of music and the editing while working ❤
I'm just being a realist here. It looks great cleaned out, but if you pack it full of flowers, it's gonna be the same problem. Spider mites, spiders, all different kinds of insects. Whether it's vegetables or fruit, it's still gonna have the same outcome. The maintenance program is what needs to change in order for the space to be successful. I love your shows.❤❤
Looking good! I love a good clean up, so satisfying. Maybe you could put down some pea gravel instead of mulch, and some gravel under the bricks by the chicken entrance, that would level them for you. I just love your above ground planters, the color is so perfect! Again, good job Robbie and Brent too! 🥰
Veggie gardening is a challenge im kinda over at this point ,between the weather and the bugs , its not worth it some years ! I decided last night I am giving up a whole bed ( or 2) to cut flower gardening ..
Good morning Robbie . So envious of your beautiful squash plants!!🌸 They look beautiful . Of course squash , pumpkins, cucumbers are my favorites and of course it’s a struggle for me to keep them healthy and alive . Without trying you have done a magnificent job 🩵 Have a beautiful day .
Hi Robbie. Spiders love the cool spots on our property like the garage concrete, screens and such. I spray a spider spray on those surfaces and it keeps them at bay. Just a thought for maybe reducing their desire to be about an around a bit.
Hey Robbie, wear gloves then you can forget the heebee-geebees. I’m not a veggie gardener either so bring on the fall plantings! Excited to see your progress.
Good morning Robbie and Brent! WOW Major clean out! Do the Chickens eat all those herbs as well as a lot of the different veggies? (I know that is way too much for them but, just curious what they can eat?) HI Brent 👋 it is ALWAYS so WONDERFUL to see you! What a team you two are, 👏 love it! 😊 YAY! You can see your beautiful raised garden beds again! 😍 What a fantastic job ya'll did 👏 Can't wait to see it all come to fruition! A good little summer rain to help wash away the old and welcome the new 😊 I bought a hula hoe 3 years ago and my hubby won't even try it 🙄 wish I was able to get in the garden and work! Ya'll take great care. Zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast here. 🥵🥵🥵
Hi Robbie. Great transformation by you and Brent and Freya. I was cringing at those spiders. Why don't you wear gloves when you are doing chores like this. Sticking my hands in dark places skeezes me out. Watching you was hard. Haha Love your channel.
Robbie, you are so funny, LOL! Such drama in the veggie garden, haha! I bet the day it rained there was the day that we had a very hot and humid day in the Bay Area caused by a monsoon storm in the desert that somehow made its way here. There was a gorgeous sunset AND a rainbow at 8:00 PM! It was pretty wild. 🕷🌈
Robbie, you are so funny! Love watching you with the bugs! I’m the same way, don’t hate them, but why must they invade our spaces?😂 stay in the woods, please! Anyway, it looks awesome! Good job, can’t wait to see what you do there!❤
I know you have chickens but before you plant anything else back there you need to spray those spiders! I'm an organic gardener but spray around the base places where spiders are. I'd never gardrn with those monsters!!!!
I’m so glad you are thinking about fall planting! I too want to plant the cool season flowers. I’ll be watching to learn from you and Brett! I bought the book Janey recommended - Cool Flowers. As to veggies, this year I decided to plant only what we eat. I did a salsa garden - tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, onion, garlic. Also planted dill and basil. The tomatoes did great, although some were mushy - too much rain. Garlic and onion didn’t get enough sun - they were tiny and I only got one pepper. 😐 I’m in Zone 7B in Western North Carolina. We are technically a rain forest because we average between 60-70 inches of rain per year. It often goes even higher. What cool flowers will you be planting and will you plant any edibles?
Praying Mantis sometimes kill Humming Birds. So I would not worry about those baby’s! And I do not like spiders any shape or form lol! Nope Lol Love your videos! Have a good day!😊
Veggie gardening is rough so I only do a few different plants in large grow pots and cukes in the ground. Flowers everywhere else. Spiders luv flowers too right?!!!
I totally understand! I have tried to grow veggies and my only success was squash and luckily I love squash! I even had a truck load of soil brought in and it didn't help. So now I am flowers, trees, shrubs, all do well for me. I have failed with hydrangeas but I am going to give it one more try with a new area, new bed using no till method and see what happens! I am excited for your changes and watching your progress! Stay cool!
Robbie you really need some gardening gloves so you can pull things without the mini heart attack each time you touch a bug or spiderweb
I like the music you played while you were cleaning your vegetable garden area 😁
It's so freeing to dispose of plants we no longer want. Good work, Robbie and Brent!
Glad to see Brent a little bit more on the videos!!! You really do make a great team. Looks terrific!!
Wow, looks great, Ihave had a veggie garden 10 yrs now but even though Iscaled back can not keep up with the harvest, getting older and don't have the time to can and cook like I used to, so also thinking cut flowers with a very small scale veggie garden in so cal.
I agree with you Robbie! Tear out all the veggie stuff! We are flower gardeners! We must plant and enjoy our flowers. ❤❤
Hanging baskets are dead to me! I will never ever ever never ever do another hanging basket! I appreciate your videos your honesty thanks for being you!
I agree, Melinda! I hate hanging baskets and will never do them again either-same for veggie garden! No thanks
OMG, I love your channel so much! You crack me up! "You're dead to me." LOLOLOL, I snorted coffee out my nose!!!
😂 I was eating almost swallowed my piece of salmon 😅love it. Be great at what you know you are Robbie!! We're here for it. ❤
A good cleaning gives you a breath of fresh air!!!❤
Hi Robbie! It's always good seeing Brent and Freya, too. That has to be so satisfying for you. It looks great and I'm looking forward to you turning it into a cut flower garden. Thank you so much for shring!

Totally feel same as you on the spiders! They give me the heebie jeebies 🕷️🕸️.

Robbie, you are hilarious.Bye bye vegs. Plant what you love!
This was so satisfying to watch. Looking forward to the cut flower garden. Love your personality, you make me smile. 😊
Yay, flower gardens are always bring you joy!
Veggie gardens can be messy and difficult to manage in containers, especially ones like squash. I love fresh tomatoes, so I have chosen to add my favorite varieties to my flower beds. Brent is so good. You picked a keeper! Can't wait to see the cut flower garden in bloom.
We have bad spiders too- wear gloves- spray water also
Spiders mites live dry flowers too!
When u cleaned your garden out u should have on long sleeves pants and gloves And sprayed 😄😄😄 have good day ❤️❤️
Agree that was my comment also you said it first
What a transformation Robbie! I can’t stand spiders, even mini tiny ones! Your garden will be so beautiful! Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻💕
That needed to be done! It has been an unusually unpleasant summer weather wise. Ready for fall.
I have the worst problem with spiders too! I feel bad knocking them down but they are creepy lol This is such a great reminder that if something doesn’t bring you joy, change it. The flower garden is going to be gorgeous! Great job Robbie and Brent!
Music has been on point lately! I’m loving it. Very satisfying video!
lol! I love the music!!
This is how I’m feeling about my veggie garden this year. Love this and it’s giving me strength to do the same.
I am also flower gardener not veggie gardener. Good work Robbie n hope to see more flower plants in your garden.
Great video, I had a big smile the whole time watching!! Nice shirt, I'll be looking for Janey to wear some of your gear 😃
Yeah, that spider is NOT fine! I feel your pain. He gots to go!
But I'm over it...I will grow what I know I can grow , and save time and money !
We saw Brent wearing gloves, just curious as to why you don’t? I wouldn’t stick my bare hands into any thick vegetation! ☺️🇨🇦
Have heard to try putting used peppermint teabags all around to deter spiders
Pulled some plants yesterday. Some veggies are done or eat by birds. So pulled most. Left some spinach for the birds. They seem to love it. Next year I’m going to do cut flowers as well as some tomatoes for sauce making.
Spiders, they are freaky 🕷️😬 I don’t like bugs, period ……..! What a difference removing all of those plants plants made. You guys are going to have so much fun designing the entire area, the videos are going to be amazing 🤩 💚
I don’t even like squash 😂😂
I’m feeling your vibes in my garden as well… over it 🤣
Yes!! I also just pulled some long time plants that were past their time/neglected care 😞. I dont feel too bad because an empty spot is like a blank canvas and change is good.
The green beds are so nice looking. Loved the music on this video.
Thank you for the spider warning. I have a life long phobia and seriously jump even just seeing them on the screen. But for some reason I looked for a second anyway 😂
I love my garden veggies and flowers both. But I'm all for growing what you love, and can't wait to see yours in bloom!!!!! 😍
Flowers will bring insects also.
And of course if you don’t get rid of the spiders, the webs will also be back.
😂
It would keep the dust down if you put in gravel or decomposed granite in. That’s what I have in my veggie garden and it also keep the weeds down. Love what you did. You can breathe easier!!!
Ooooof, so much BETTER! And I would say, "Frig the spiders, I'm getting rid of them!"!!! You could have fried the Squash flowers. Apparently they are absolutely delicious!

Great idea taking out the veggie garden can’t wait to see what you do with fall flowers.

Luv a good garden cleanup , looks better
I would extend that reddish brick you have at the entrance to chicken coop. Makes it a mini room sorta! Spiders freak me out also!
Good morning. Enjoy the summer rain. I live in the West Coast of Canada and we have summer rain and boy is it a pleasure. Then I do the happy dance as I don't have to water the gardens. Good for you Robbie! My husband enjoys veggie gardening so I can't remove it, but oh, what I would do for more cut gardening space!

The rain is blessing your decision ❤
Robbie, you crack me up "they're dead to me" so literally accurate! My husband just put in 6 new raised beds for cut flowers, the biggest mistake was giving 1 of them to baby pumpkins & cucumbers (pressured by hubby), they've taken over my sunflowers!! I agree do cut flowers!! My zinnias, snapdragons, celosia, amaranth, salvia are amazing in the other raised beds. You will love it!
❤ Don Corleone of gardening “ dead to me”
I can’t wait for all the flowers you’re going to plant there
Love the music choice. I'm over in VA zone 9a now. HUMID. Teach me your ways i want to do the same to my veggie garden.
I agree, no more veggies. Too much time and effort for too little produce. Since you have all those brick, would you consider brick paths in the flower garden?
It’s looks great after the cleanup ❤
Love your attitude on the veggies 😂

Excellent idea! Looks great! Transformations are always so exciting!
“They’re dead to me!….I want this garden to burn!”😂 We’ve all felt that before in our gardens! 💚💐
Hi Robbie & Brent!
Woo-Hoo! Such a good idea to use the veg area for cut flowers. BIG sigh of relief - the veg are gone!
Nice work! Looks so tidy now. 😊 I'm not a spider fan. Maybe you can find a natural spider 🕷 killer 🤔 😳
I totally get it. Spiders and mosquitoes are a huge deal breaker for me.
I’m always the first to get bitten 😢
Love the choice of music and the editing while working ❤

I know you have chickens but before you plant anything else back there you need to spray those spiders! I'm an organic gardener but spray around the base places where spiders are. I'd never gardrn with those monsters!!!!
You’re funny. This video made me like you even more. “I’m a great farmer.” LOL…
Yeah!!! Got to see Brent in the video!
Harmless spider but wicked scary. I think a cut flower garden is a great idea
Praying Mantis sometimes kill Humming Birds. So I would not worry about those baby’s! And I do not like spiders any shape or form lol! Nope Lol Love your videos! Have a good day!😊
Your intro is the best. You are so funny. How much does Brent crack up in the background or as he watches the play back? 😂
Stay cool!
