When we wrote this song decades ago it wasn’t clear that Sony Japan would use it for a video car racing game. The same applied to Second Chance which we recorded with Joseph Williams lead singer of Toto. However I wrote Freedom to Win with the knowledge it would be used for a video game. If we had’ve known all the songs would be used on the game soundtrack I probably would’ve written different lyrics! 😊. Amanda Cooke, lyricist
such a pleasant surprise. the lyric perfectly captures our emotion, relationships, as well as the connection between men and their ride one might do a double take. the subtle romance, perhaps, is what drove them (pun intended) to acknowledge and peruse; something that is somewhat ubiquitous in their music scene, past and present. and for that i'd say, Thank you Amanda for gracing us with such lovely piece i, for one, wouldn't have it any other way.

Gran Turismo gets no respect for quality of the soundtracks throughout the series this being an example of it! This and Second Chance on GT1 Japanese soundtrack get me emotional becuase they have the passion of the game
