    Thanks Lynden. How amazing that you lead us through the process to reach the Blues scale and then to find ways to improvise in it. Plus, that you illustrate to us how to use the SessionBand App in an effective and practical way. Your videos are truly inspirational and easy enough to understand and to follow. I have gained a lot of insight from you.

    How does it work in the context of a song with different chords that I might not know what they are? Wouldn't playing the lick in the same chord get a bit boring if the song changed chords and the sax didn't?

    • @lyndenblades
      @lyndenblades  Месяц назад +1

      Hi Vic. The idea is that you’d learn a lick like this in all keys, then you can use that lick as the basis of a phrase that you can develop. It’s like learning a new language, if I practice the phrase” Hello my names Lynden and I’d like to hire a car” I can use and adapt this phrase to rent a room, or book a flight by changing the words at the end. You do the same with your musical phrases, but first you need the basic phrase and you need it in all keys. Does that make sense?

      Hi Patricia. Thanks for your feedback. It’s always possible when you make unscripted videos like this to talk too much, on the other hand I’m aiming to spell things out super clearly so that everyone gets it and so that’s a thing. I’m open to improving what I do and suggestions so can you be more specific please about where I’m talking excessively? Thanks 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷

      I'm looking for more teaching from you than hearing about personal things.
      You are very good at you're teaching. And you are very personable. F 5:05 or me it's just too much personable. It would be great if you would use all of your time for teaching.
      By the way the app that you use for backing tracks in only accessible for apple users. Would you be able to use an app that all can use?

    • @lyndenblades
      @lyndenblades  Месяц назад

      Thanks for your reply, but when I go to the time stamp you mention I’m not talking about anything personal I’m playing a blues scale, is that where you mean?
      The SessionBand app will be on android soon by the way, but you can find lots of backing tracks on RUclips too. 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷

      I find it interesting (and a bit depressing) that two of my favourite - and truly exceptional youtube music instructors (Brian at the active melody guitar channel and now Lynden) have been hit with the kneejerk “too much talking” comment. I find it astonishing that when deeply experienced, personable instructors like this choose to give away their incredibly valuable insights FOR FREE there will always be someone ready to jump in and complain that they’re not giving away their free stuff fast enough… these channels take so much time and application to put together to this standard and the value of Lynden (and Brian) is that their personalties create the impression that they really have invited you into their homes for a private lesson. It creates a sense of community which is what keeps people coming back. Anyone who thinks Lynden talks too much probably wouldn’t appreciate him putting the kettle on if it were a private lesson
