One thing that I enjoy year round but especially in the summer (I'm in Georgia) is Greek yogurt with frozen berries. To cut cost, I buy them in season and freeze them myself. I take the spoon and kinda mash them up to disburse through the yogurt. Since they are still mostly frozen, you end up with something that feels like ice cream or fro yo minus the sugars and costs. Lately, I have taken to mixing in a bunch of tajin so I get cold, sweet, spicy, tangy and a little tart. Lol I had it twice yesterday

Thank you for all the ideas, sometimes we just forget how many cool foods we make. Pasta salad is a big one for us. Add chicken and shredded cheese veggies and ranch dressing is a favorite of my grand kids. Your three bean salad was one my mom made every summer and kidney bean salad. Rinsed drained beans, a little onion (or 20:00 onion powder) celery and a diced hard boiled egg with a mayo, cider vinegar, sugar, s&p, and a bit of milk dressing.

Hi Maria, we've really been enjoying this type of thing, like your first couple of recipes, this summer. As you said, we add some sort of granola or grain (for instance oatmeal) to keep us full all morning. When you made the bean salad, it reminded me of my late mum. I've always hated bean salad lol but she loved it. I totally agree with what you said about loving having handwritten recipes. I inherited my mother's and still make my favourites from 60 years ago. BTW, I've been away from youtube for a while and it's great to see you again! Love from Ontario, Canada 💗

Adding honey to the yoghurt breakfast helps with allergies and immune system. Also, kiddos will scarf it down 😉💞 Try to buy honey from local bees as that honey will have the pollen from local flowers etc. Buying honey from Brazil might taste good but doesn't have the properties of healing you need. Thanks for great ideas.

That chicken salad looks delicious!! I’m totally going for it. My mom used to stuff tomatoes with tuna salad as a cool meal. It was one of my favorites, and she was a so so cook.

I'm a true believer in using celery seeds if recipe calls for diced/chopped celery. I love the flavor but hate the crunch and the strings. I always have celery seeds on hand...and they don't wilt. 😊

I read a hint to place your diced red onion in the dressing and leave it till last to add and it "tames" the onion. I love red onion but the bite of the yellow or white can be too much for me. It worked!

This video couldn’t have come at a better time! I absolutely LOVE cooking and baking, but my hubby is always telling me it’s air fryer or grilling for hot summer days. Bums me out, but he’s got a point. A lot of times I’ll even use my dash mini waffle maker for quickly making a biscuit or a cinnamon roll 😂 it cooks up in like 5 minutes and I don’t have to run the oven!

I watched this video earlier and thought the chickpea salad looked great. I actually had fresh dill. I just made it. I've made a salad similar and had just used Italian dressing, and it was ok. I made this one, just like the recipe and that oregano/dill dressing was absolutely amazing. DH and I went wow when we tasted it. It's a keeper. It tastes like summer!! Thank you for finding it!!! I would recommend anyone trying it to use fresh dill, because the dried is definitely different.

Does anyone else hate the chickpea “skins”?? I find myself soaking them in a bowl, swishing with my fingers and skimming off the skins that float to the the top 😩

Make your own croutons! Cube any bread products (stale slices, English muffins, wheat, rye, etc). Toss with oil, spices/herbs. Spread on sheet pan. Place in a slow oven, toss periodically until your desired "crunch".

Waldorf salad, to my knowledge and experience, has apples, raisins, celery, walnuts and mayo, sometimes chicken. There are none of the other things you included. So you did not make a traditional Waldorf salad.
My grandparents grew up during the great depression, my mother leaned the recipe from my gram, so I'm just sharing the old time traditional recipe as I know it.
Grapes, although a great addition, were not a thing.
