This is how I feel in AZ .. Whew...🔥
😵💫
Me too
Texas and isn’t so cool either right now. God bless everyone ♥️🙏
One thing that I enjoy year round but especially in the summer (I'm in Georgia) is Greek yogurt with frozen berries. To cut cost, I buy them in season and freeze them myself. I take the spoon and kinda mash them up to disburse through the yogurt. Since they are still mostly frozen, you end up with something that feels like ice cream or fro yo minus the sugars and costs. Lately, I have taken to mixing in a bunch of tajin so I get cold, sweet, spicy, tangy and a little tart. Lol I had it twice yesterday
Yum! That sounds so good! Thank you for sharing!
Yuk! Avocados….😧
Thank you for all the ideas, sometimes we just forget how many cool foods we make. Pasta salad is a big one for us. Add chicken and shredded cheese veggies and ranch dressing is a favorite of my grand kids. Your three bean salad was one my mom made every summer and kidney bean salad. Rinsed drained beans, a little onion (or 20:00 onion powder) celery and a diced hard boiled egg with a mayo, cider vinegar, sugar, s&p, and a bit of milk dressing.
Great summer cool ideas!
Thank you! So glad you like them!
These are great ideas. Thanks, Maria
You’re welcome!
Hi Maria, we've really been enjoying this type of thing, like your first couple of recipes, this summer. As you said, we add some sort of granola or grain (for instance oatmeal) to keep us full all morning. When you made the bean salad, it reminded me of my late mum. I've always hated bean salad lol but she loved it. I totally agree with what you said about loving having handwritten recipes. I inherited my mother's and still make my favourites from 60 years ago. BTW, I've been away from youtube for a while and it's great to see you again! Love from Ontario, Canada 💗
Hi Paula! Always happy to see a comment from you! So glad your back and liking the videos! ❤️❤️❤️
Adding honey to the yoghurt breakfast helps with allergies and immune system. Also, kiddos will scarf it down 😉💞 Try to buy honey from local bees as that honey will have the pollen from local flowers etc. Buying honey from Brazil might taste good but doesn't have the properties of healing you need. Thanks for great ideas.
Great idea!
That chicken salad looks delicious!! I’m totally going for it. My mom used to stuff tomatoes with tuna salad as a cool meal. It was one of my favorites, and she was a so so cook.
I want to try that tomato hack!!! Glad you like the recipe!
Thank you for the awesome ideas!!
Chick pea salad is my go to at least weekly. So delicious.
I'm a true believer in using celery seeds if recipe calls for diced/chopped celery. I love the flavor but hate the crunch and the strings. I always have celery seeds on hand...and they don't wilt. 😊
Thank you! That’s what I’m talking about. I have been into using the air fryer to make cinnamon buns using biscuits. ❤. Love you and thanks again.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing ❤️👍❤️👍❤️
You’re welcome!
I read a hint to place your diced red onion in the dressing and leave it till last to add and it "tames" the onion. I love red onion but the bite of the yellow or white can be too much for me. It worked!
Fantastic recipes!
Love your summer meals they are very healthy and delightful. 😊 I also like to do chicken or turkey meat spinach wrap 🌯 or make a 5 layer dip pair it up with quinoa chips or nacho style
You had me at banana split...
Yes!!!
This video couldn’t have come at a better time! I absolutely LOVE cooking and baking, but my hubby is always telling me it’s air fryer or grilling for hot summer days. Bums me out, but he’s got a point. A lot of times I’ll even use my dash mini waffle maker for quickly making a biscuit or a cinnamon roll 😂 it cooks up in like 5 minutes and I don’t have to run the oven!
I love no lettuce vegetable salads. I make them all summer.
Yes! 👏
Thanks for all these ideas. The feel like temp in S.W. Georgia today was 108. That chicken salad was my fav. Stay cool!
These recipes all look so yummy **and** healthy, which has been super hard to find on YT. I always make sure I have watched your latest video before I place my grocery order. 💖
Using the crockpot big time... Many blessings. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Thank you for all these great ideas
Thanks for that Video ❤❤❤ it's so hot in germany these upcoming days
Home made Cesar salad dressing is easy to make and probably less expensive. Taste better than store bought.
I watched this video earlier and thought the chickpea salad looked great. I actually had fresh dill. I just made it. I've made a salad similar and had just used Italian dressing, and it was ok. I made this one, just like the recipe and that oregano/dill dressing was absolutely amazing. DH and I went wow when we tasted it. It's a keeper. It tastes like summer!! Thank you for finding it!!! I would recommend anyone trying it to use fresh dill, because the dried is definitely different.
Does anyone else hate the chickpea “skins”?? I find myself soaking them in a bowl, swishing with my fingers and skimming off the skins that float to the the top 😩
Add some chickpeas to that bean salad for some extra fiber.
Amen! I’m in AZ but it’s a dry heat! Fabulous ideas!!
looks delicious~
Thank you!
My mother liked the 3 bean salad so much that she made it and kept a jar of i in the refrigerator.
Love it!
Very hot here in Florida. We need these recipes 😂❤
Stay cool!!!
great video...as usual!!!
I made the hamburger/tortilla that you had in a recent video, it's really good.
Add tuna to that garbanzo salad.
Or canned chicken yummy😊😊
❤I remember when the kids were that small and you still always lifted up that sleeve and tried not too... Lol. I remember you saying you didn't see him get the banana when he did. I remember the reno of the kitchen too! 😉
Love these ideas!
Yay!
Sure is it's 115 today
😅 hope this helps!
Girl!! These are excellent ideas! I live in Illinois and mother nature is so bipolar here 😂 one day kinda ok the next she is like ready to kill us all. Love you, your family, and your videos
❤❤❤😊😊😊
❤️❤️❤️
I use the air fryer, slow cooker and microwave a lot.I don't use the oven.
🥰🙃😋
👍🏼👍🏼
Wait, there are people who think cottage cheese tastes salty?
Make your own croutons! Cube any bread products (stale slices, English muffins, wheat, rye, etc). Toss with oil, spices/herbs. Spread on sheet pan. Place in a slow oven, toss periodically until your desired "crunch".
Then you turn on the oven.
No oven recipes.
Good point!
They have 3 Bean Salad in a Can Already in Stores .......
HAHA--you said it was super hot but you are wearing a sweater! Go figure.
Waldorf salad, to my knowledge and experience, has apples, raisins, celery, walnuts and mayo, sometimes chicken. There are none of the other things you included. So you did not make a traditional Waldorf salad.
My grandparents grew up during the great depression, my mother leaned the recipe from my gram, so I'm just sharing the old time traditional recipe as I know it.
Grapes, although a great addition, were not a thing.
