So glad I was alive during this great process or movement. Where you know in your bones you are part of something special, unique. I remember getting my first car mid 90's... Where you driving with the windows down, this music playing and you get almost home. And you just get there but keep on driving, as far as you could to get every song chord, lyric memorized. Holy shit epic times that defined me as a person. Right out of Britian! You can take my last brain cells and not take a bit of this band from me. Watching any concert you can see I'm not alone. Nothing will ever come even close to what this band did.....God get togerher you guys, forgiving world, make another quick four albums. They will. I have to live that code of belief.....or code to get by.
Other than Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova being played on the radio I had never heard of them until 2019 when I accidentally found out about them on RUclips... i can't believe a band with this much music amassed and I never heard of them... true and I'm an avid music fan all of my life !
there will never be another time like this, so glad I was alive, saw them when they were small-time, and saw them when they were massive, everytime the same band , excellent
Whatever......fukn magic song......was the song that hooked me in '94.....13-14 year old and never been interested in music before...heard this on the radio in the car into town and BAM......fukn mad fer it for the next 27 years
considering this is an american doc, and creation let sony take over the international side, AND later bought out creation, for the purpose of conciseness the documentary is right
Noel: “As long as we didn’t make another wonderwall” Also Noel: *releaes D’ya Know What I Mean? as BHN’s first single with exactly the same chord progression*
Imagine if the Masterplan album was actually their third album. Yikes. There's a place for BHN (which I personally love) but I don't think it was 1997.
Be here now had potential it just needed better production and trimming, song lengths i mean, leave a few songs off and the album would of been really good...
They SHOULD'VE beat Radiohead to the punch with the "Pinkfloyd" hyper psychedelic experimental trippy sound. They were definitely on the wrong drugs. I actually enjoy "Be here now" these days. But I did think it was "off the tracks" back then. It did need better production.
Casual as fuck for a northern band, most relatable mob of individuals ever to grace the music scene then and now, stood the test of time, pity Noel ain’t these days.
Being an American documentary I'm impressed they didn't put more subtitles up. I'm English and can barely understand what the Gallagher's are saying half the time.
Media has the power. They raise you up, even if it’s crap. Then they take you down. Just look how they universally praise Liam’s solo albums. We all know they’re just ok. But they want the rivalry between NG and LG and it can’t happen if they slag LG off.
Bands with 'A' Levels that don't do drugs will never ever generate anywhere near the level of interest and support Oasis had. Qualifications are for office workers not Rockstars! True Rockstars are naturally talented and unique people. You can't learn how to be one in a music college or a classroom, they're born with it. You either have it in you or you don't. You can be taught how to play instruments well and train vocals to an extent but that will only get you so far. Without natural attitude, swagger and credible disregard for abiding by rules it will only result in exposing yourself as fake wannabes. Oasis weren't great musicians but they had natural attitude and swagger and genuinely didn't give a fuck what haters thought cos they knew deep down they were the real deal, they believed in themselves 100% and they lived like rockstars because they were Rockstars, not because they were trying to be Rockstars. If you have to try to be a Rockstar you ain't a rockstar and never will be.
Totally agree. And on the subject of not being great musicians just look at the sex pistols.recently debating with a guy in comments that being a more technical player does not equal better music.Guy seems to think that musicians will always b better than who came before them. And when it comes to technique he is right. But as for his claim that he’s written better songs than any oasis song is so wrong. But as I say feel over technique.
@@darrenstopper1806 People who study scales and chord progressions and sit down to discuss what key the next intro should be written in are basically middle class doctors children that have been forced to learn instruments and wannabe rockstars to rebel. Proper rockstars pick up a guitar, teach themselves enough to make a tune, listen to no one, do as they please and blast raw unpolished filthy passionate attitude in your face and couldn't give a fuck if they play a bum note or get a bad review in a magazine. They'll roll up the magazine and shove it up the editors arse. Real rockstars haven't really got a clue what they're trying to achieve or write about, they just get smashed, get in a practice room, crank up the guitars and belt it out and if it sounds good they run with it and do it naturally. If a band is having a sit down discussing the musical direction and band image then straight away they're fakin it. Oasis just stood there playing simple barred chords with distortion and attitude and blew up because they were exactly what you saw in front of your eyes. If i stuck a fin on my back and started biting seals it wouldn't make me a shark. Can't be doing with stage names, costumes, theatrical performances, make up, band images, band meetings, management involvement etc. If Axl Rose fronted the band in normal clothes with his real name William then Guns n Roses wouldn't have been viewed as the lunatics they were creating themselves as. Alex Turner started raw with a local Yorkshire accent writing songs like 'Fake tales of San Francisco' taking the piss out of local bands attempting to be americans and now he's the worst I've ever seen. His yorkshire accent disappeared after 2 abums and he's now a freaky mixed up lost lunatic who dresses like an elvis impersonator and dances like Morrissey. I'd enjoy hitting him in the face with a brick several times

They were special
The way they came from absolute crap backgrounds and were just ordinary lads makes them all the more amazing.
I love how they gave Liam subtitles

After king tuts wa wa hut they were NOT signed by Sony records they were signed by creation records Alan McGees record label
Yeah that bugged me
they never signed to creation they actually signed to sony
Yes, then Sony bought out Creation.

exactly the same!
And? Its a differnent song. Chord progression mean shit
he has also said that he can get another two songs from that chord progression, xD
That’s only for the intro the rest of the song follows a progression of F#, A, E5 and B.
should of left the third album and took time on it. Still the greatest band ever for me too. God love em

Noel cracks me up tbh, the strangest mix of this sort of feigned vanity, dryness, self deprivation and a good heart.
Star Dust I think you mean “self-depreciation” and I totally agree!
It's self-deprecation. Deprivation is another term for poverty, and depreciation is an accouting/finance term.
Not many people have watched this considering this video has been up for nearly 6 years and Oasis was huge.
Probably because it’s American. I dunno. Most Americans are unaware of the influence the band had on pop culture in 90s Britain
Casual as fuck for a northern band, most relatable mob of individuals ever to grace the music scene then and now, stood the test of time, pity Noel ain’t these days.
