- A bicycle ride on the 5th Street raised cycle track in Courtenay, BC (July 2024). Highlights include a raised cycle track, updated paint markings, crosswalks, rain gardens and a connection to a multi-use pathway.
Our ride begins by connecting to the 5th Street raised cycle track from the Rotary Trail. You can also walk or roll Southbound on the Rotary Trail to connect to another raised cycle track on 17th Street.
Riding Eastbound on a raised cycle track towards downtown Courtenay we pass crosswalks and a bus stop. We also see updates paint markings at intersections and landscaping in boulevards including rain gardens. Our Eastbound ride ends at Fitzgerald Avenue, where we hop off the bike and explore Market Day which is a car-free day with music and lots of great food. Next we turn around and ride Westbound to the end of the bike lane at Menzies Avenue.
