Lemforder have made a lot of OE parts for Volvo, specifically ballpoints and can last 10+ years, so I was pleased to see you had some Lemforder parts in your box.
I have the exact same rear links on my car right now

You are right. The original links were made by Lemförder in a German city with the same name. I saw their mark in the video Yuri made when replacing the original parts with IPD. The mark is a triangle around an stylised owl. Most likely you will only notice the triangle with some kind of filling. Lemförder is part of the ZF company as well as TRW. So, maybe those marked TRW are identical.

The best rear links for the P3 are Polestar S60 rear links with an elevate sway bar to match the bigger diameter top

Quick tip in torquing down Volvo P3 suspension if not on the ground
Raise suspension(with jack) until center of wheel hub is 381mm to the top of fender well, then torque to spec
That is the resting position Volvo P3 and keeps all bushings from tearing prematurely over time as its always under load and not
    in resting ride height

This is interesting, I replaced mine around the same time you uploaded your IPD video, and I trusted them because you used them, but unfortunately they didn't last a year, and now I will have to replace them.
For reference, I reside in a hot humid city in Saudi Arabia.

@@volvosweden Were they the same grade and greasable? Any ungreasable part is bound to fail sooner or later. I did have one part fail prematurely (I have 12 Moog greasable parts on two cars, so 8% failure rate is not bad), and they were really responsive and easy to deal with. Anyways I hope these new part will be better than IPD!
      Thanks for sharing you experience!

For higher profit, some companies replaced rubber boots with plastic ones, which in our winter won't survive. Once ripped, the joint is junk! Stay away from blue boots!

Thank you for this update. I was about to buy their subframe poly inserts but since there isn't a lifetime warranty on their products I will try the Proparts from FCP. Have you done any subframe poly inserts in any of your Volvos? Do you know if it's worth it?

Lemförder is in a different league compared to TRW. The latter one is playing the lower end of the ZF product / price portfolio.

Hi. Is the rear axel adjustebl with negative camber? I have 2007 S80 D5 AWD and the rear wheels have negative camber. Is that even possible to fix? Thanks ahead.

    • @AnthonyS80-V8
      @AnthonyS80-V8 9 месяцев назад

Both your L&R rear trailing arms bushings are shot.
Replace with Lemforder, they are excellent quality and well priced.
The job is painful in every way!
Common fault on P3 and fail around 60-70k miles, even earlier in hostile salty conditions
The rear wheels with not be able to align and cause this.
There is also upper rear control arm which offsets the lower rear control arm.
With negative camber check the top control arm and ensure the bushings aren't crushed
If so it will compound the problem
