Holy crap I miss Dorchester. I’m from Sacramento but lived in Dorchester for a year back in 2014/2015. The life and culture was just so much different. From trees to food to architecture to the people. I give all of you the most respect for handling the winters lol
Ive lived in Fields Corner ten months now. I Iike it here..im moving because i have a crappy housemate , but im hoping to find another spot in Dorchester!
It's happening in every city brother and there's literally nothing we can do to stop it. I mean maybe violence is the answer. That first group of gentrifiers comes through. You gotta rob the shit outta them everyday and they'll be gone in a month. It's the only thing we can do to buy some time. Otherwise look at every major city. All the locals who made it what it is and gave it that culture are becoming extinct.
@@brownjatt21 No doubt Fam,it's like where the fuck do all these yuppies come from. They are like roaches you see a few around and you can tolerate it then before you it it's a problem that can't be fixed.Im 40 and a familyman now but back in the 90s when we started noticing these roaches we would smack em up and shake em down but when everyone gets evicted, neighborhood home owners get offers they can't refuse to sell and rent prices are out the ballpark there ain't much that can be done. Its a designed system and there is nothing that can stop it.Much Luv Bro I appreciate your comment 💯
@@Familyman5657 Lmao you you hit the nail on the head boss. And it's like man i ain't hating on them at a personal level it's just the kicking out of locals part which sucks. Like nowadays you hard pressed to find a dude speak with a thick Boston accent actually in the city. All the blue collar got pushed out the city limits to surrounding towns. Same goes everywhere. I live on the west coast small medium size agricultural town. It was a old school Chicano vibe to it and you'd see lowriders everywhere all the time in town. Median house prices here are 700-800k dawg. We an hour south of bay area town called Watsonville probably where you get your strawberries from. But Yea pretty much everyone moving out the bay cuz it too expensive and they moving into all surrounding cities which includes ours. A lot of people even where i work are being forced to buy houses 30-40 mins away cuz its just too damn expensive to live here. Feel bad for young ones growing up who'll never have a chance to buy a house in their hometown.
Used to go to Vaughn on a regular back in the late 90s had a ball with them every time stand there talking shit and eat the whole order and sometimes get a second one.
As a black Bostonian I love the exposure but Vaughans, Pit Stop can do better ie better ambiance/INVEST SOMETHING BACK INTO YOUR BIZ,better customer and all around service.
Dorchester, roxbury and mattapan the most lit and black part of Boston. It’s amazing and ain’t to violently anymore. Boston a great city to raise a family. Almost perfect!
To those in the boston area . .beautiful city ! . . Are you ready for the LORDS coming? So good to see a city that's not filled with so much crime. . Jesus is coming soon
All these places have great food, but next time your in the dorchester area please stop by the legendary Chez-Vous Skating Rink, they have delicious food for a roller skating rink.
Has anyone ever heard of Mt Calvary Holy Church of America in Dorchester I use to spend summers in Boston at Mt Calvary Holy Convocation I love Dorchester ❤️

Vaughns fish and chips maybe easily the most under rated fish place in Boston! And the price is so reasonable!

What Chez vous is still open? Use to skate there in the 60s. Is it still in Mattapan off of Blue Hill Ave?
Back then they didn't sell food.
Legendary bro!
lmaooo gotta be careful in the dot but you savage homie
One of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country!
Love the review of these gems. Hugging people with no mask was cringy for me though.
Definitely. Who's hugging anything in a pandemic?? 😄
Masks are the problem!
Funny how it used to not be this way. These masks are changing our way of living.
