As much as I still enjoy jake Tran videos, the vague/clickbait titles that change even periodically whenever a new video is released, has been turning me off from many of the recent uploads. Their outreach compared to his previous uploads of about a year ago racked in much higher views. Along with a slight bullet point title pertaining to the content within. Now it’s WOW. I can’t believe this happened-This is truly evil/bad-Unbelievable. There’s no way this went through. Lmfao

I can explain why (I think). Some creators temporarily make the title super clickbaity because a newly uploaded video getting lots of clicks is good for the algorithm. So renaming it later just gives it a nice headstart.

Just an FYI even Graham Stephen does it, because the RUclips algorithm picks and chooses recommendations based on some specific criteria. Controversial channels like this one need to keep changing their titles to avoid being singled out.

I won’t lie I really did think similarly when I watched the video. I watch videos on this channel from time to time, and I love some of the thorough anti-establishment content, but being born and raised in Boston, this video title rings hollow because the content in this video really isn’t consequential to today. Not at all. The era of the Irish dominance of Boston is long past, and it’s a gentrified university city.
Imagine how much more successful his channel would be if he outsourced everything but the voice.

- Clickbait videos (The titles nowadays are brash and don't tell us anything).

As a long time fan of this channel, I'm unsubscribing. I hope Jake can learn from the valid criticisms because he still has the opportunity to change things around.

It quite interesting and even as a long term sub i can listen to other guys dubbing. They do a good job at doing it and the info they present is still interesting. Now that he's grown his channel he got other things to do. Do you really think what he wants in life is just to do RUclips videos by himself? It doesn't work like that and gets exhausting. Like a small business you start by yourself and then expand by the help of others. Today marks the end of my membership perks as it’s the last day of the month, crazy because Jake’s channel is the only one I’ve ever “joined”. I always love the topics being covered here as well as the style of presentation. However, when so many channels covered the same topics, it was always Jake’s Charismatic narration and authenticity that kept me hooked throughout, the changes over the years with the narration and cheeky endorsements have really severed the quality of the channel. If Jake started a separate channel or renamed this channel, maybe it would be different but it almost feels like the loyalty of long term subscribers is being taken advantage of by maintaining Jake Tran as the brand and removing all the ‘Jake Tran’ elements that attracted the viewers in the first place. I will remain a subscriber of course but I do acknowledge that the content has been changing and not for the better. I would hate to see a lesser influential channel post their “Rise and fall of Jake Tran” video in the near future but at this rate, if things don’t change, that may be the inevitable reality. Mad respect still

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way about Jake Tran right now. Clickbait and everything, even the narration by Jake in his videos started feeling like they were clickbait too. It made me dislike watching his videos so I only watch a few rather than all. Jakes narration honestly became pitiful and I personally like the other narrations because they actually feel genuine rather than what Jake is currently doing. The titles of the videos don’t go into depth unless you click on them which is corny. RUclips has an add problem with 30+ second add breaks a plethora of times in the video and I’m not wasting my time with it just seeing or reading the comments just to know what they video is rather than seeing the title from sub notifications or seeing on the channel.
That's just ads in general. Ublock origin and whatnot would do you good.
Jake's narration is what actually pulled me in. These other people he has narrating isn't doing it for me. I used to watch his videos all the way through. Now it's either halfway or a quarter of that cause thier style of narration isn't engaging enough for me.

I grew up in the Same projects in South Boston as Whitey. My uncle Brian Watson was murdered in 1984 and his body was discovered along the highway 93 in Manchester NH. They just arrested a 60 year old man for his murder this year (2022) after 37 years and they say it was connected to Whitey. Also my father was killed in 1992 five months before i was born & i think he was murdered but police ruled his death an accident. Like many others were/are saying, this style of spamming out content that is nowhere as good as the old content isn’t for me. Like come on its even got click-bait titles like “wow I can’t believe this happened!” And it’s just so strange to see a channel that a few months ago was one of my favourite on the platform and now it’s almost a parody of itself. I don’t what the change was but it needs to be reverted. The re-naming thing is so weird, it’s like we went from a solid home-grown channel to a min-maxed channel designed to pump out as much and make as much money as possible. Very jarring.

Lately, something is very off with the recent uploads. The videos uploaded in July are good but they are not as good as his previous uploads.
was great then, even at work i would rush to watch his new vids now all his vids are advertisment for his premium channel.

The changes that have come to this channel have steered me until a conclusion that I cannot continue to support Jake Tran I know I’m just one in a million plus people but this channel used to be SOOOOO good with no clickbait type of title nowadays it’s just pumping video after video with the most pick me titles I’ve ever seen. It’s almost like Jake just stopped putting his own input on his own channel it’s just run by his team with a little bit of him on the intro and a paid advertisement. I gotta unsubscribe it’s just not the same anymore. I hope this channel continues to still thrive
One problem I have with this video is nobody is putting out a 100 grand but I’m a shop owner. And I highly doubt the shop owner has 100 grand to pay
You know it's ridiculous Wall Street doesn't count small businesses until they do a hundred million a year in revenue
I only know two guys that break 10 million that I've ever met in real life and that's not year over year consistently

The story of James Bulger wasn’t just about a criminal in Boston. It was also about how the feds tested LSD on a guy, then let him basically be a serial killer and mobster.
(Just my opinion and not in the video) The feds also let him hangout in Santa Monica while on the run. The reason I say that is because after he fled, there were media reports and people from South Boston that lived in California, that had said he would hanging out in a bar in Santa Monica that showed every Red Sox game. Supposedly Bulger would sit at the end of the bar alone, have no more than 2 beers, and when approached by anyone he’d be cranky.

@@InteloPL Honestly, I can't say. I don't know for sure. But the fact that these documentaries vary a LOT on their quality and content makes me think there's no way its a single team doing this because theres too many inconsistencies with voice, performance, and presentation of the videos at hand. A small team would still be consistent across uploads even if it's a few different presenters. The intros are always enticing, but then when you get to the main part of the documentary you can tell quality really drops as he switches over to the video that was made by someone else. Like a dropshipping model, but with youtube videos. Outsource video content to produce more. More videos = more viewers = more ad money and subscribers.
