I am getting some Zone of the Enders vibes from these new kits from The Witch From Mercury. The Beguir Beu might be the first Gundam kit I paint rather than use the decals. I want to try the silver paint under the clear pieces and actually copy the details that overlay them with metallic colors. I want to get some Zeon purple for the panel lines of the purple parts. I don’t know but I haven’t been this excited for a new series and kits for a long time.
it looks cool, although tbh its the generic kind of cool it reminds me of an enemy grunt suit from gundam age, plus the assortment of accessories and the lack thereof is meh, I wouldn't even count the funnel balls to be accessories since they are part of the suit itself like they complete the look, all it has is swords like that mobile suit could have benefitted from at least a ranged beam weapon not a built in 2 in 1 weapon especially when its designed to take out gundam units capable of sniping their a55e5 with just a beam rifle and a couple shield bits
@@kakarot197 yeah I did mention the 2 in 1 aspect of the sword having 2 beam guns on each sword, although I doubt they would be that good at actual range combat, they seem more like a last resort or something for close range like the twin vulcans on a gundams head unit basically they are pistols , like I said it could have benefitted with a ranged weapon, like an actual ranged weapon although Im sure there's a variant for it that actually uses ranged weapons in the future hopefylly, im sure this one is just like specifically designed for like really close range encounters especially considering the ball funnels are attached to a really short wire, I doubt it would be engaging any mobile suit at long range any time soon, but it just looks just cool and it would have been really really cool if it had like a separate weapon that's vaguely shaped like a rifle because ngl the swords don't really fit the look on the mobile suit especially when they are of a different color, its like the beguir just found some unused green gn swords lying around and just happened to pick it up
@@traphimawari7760 This suit's sole purpose is to counter the Gundam. The anti-Gundam system doesn't work from afar, so the melee weapons are a good solution.
so apparently hardly of the Witch from Mercury model kits aren't on Amazon, but on a different hobby site called USA Gundam Store, and they're all on pre-order, how long is that gonna take until that label is gone?
The wings on the back makes me hope that there's a transforming variant in the future (Cour/Season 2), even if i won't expect it too much. Maybe like Airmaster but no need for head removal.
Given the lack of success from antidote systems, I wonder what could installed in the pods's places. Or if just leaving the hard points bare to reduce mass is better.

I would recommend you to compare this to a few 00 kits, like the GN-X or the Quanta, maybe the Portent too. And I would also put an Astray next to the Lfrith.

I don't think it used them in the anime, but the swords have 2 beam guns each.

My favorite part of this MS is its EMP attack. That's a big brain move for a mecha war.
technically emp has been done before in gundam. in seed, there's a battle that is won because the prototypes had no emp protection.

I do wonder a bit if the lack of color on the balls was to keep weight down, but even then, some stickers would have been something.
