  • Changing things up a bit, I wanted to take a few moments to address two of my favorite lenses in my camera bag right now. As great as new tech can be, there's a certain feel you get from vintage optics that is difficult to replicate. Thankfully, these lenses can be had for a whole lot less than their more modern counterparts!

Very nice setup at that fine desk ! Yes the sound in the first half part of this video was a bit hard to hear your voice, the music was too loud, hope you find a good microphone 🎤☺
4:15 "everything was cheap to produce back then" if I heard right ? No, it was not cheap to produce back then, you did not get much for a week's salary compared with today, many amateur photographers bought third party Lenses or saved money for a long time to get the best brands, many only had one, two or three Lenses.
There are many really good analog SLR Lenses you can get for not very much, though the last ten years prices have risen a lot for some Lenses. 15 years ago you could get analog Lenses for near nothing on ebay. When I changed from Canon DSLR to Sony mirrorless, I challenged myself to see which Lenses I really needed, so I used my old analog Canon FDn Lenses adapted to Sony and that was a very good thing !

I found that Super Takumar 135 f3.5 in almost pristine condition (with its original case) in a thrift store last year for 12 USD... I was shocked how good it is and even though I could get a handsome profit reselling it, I am keeping it! :)

I can’t blame you! Mine is absolutely one of my favorite lenses I own. Regardless of sentimental attachment, I’m not sure I’d part with mine either!

Great video. I also shoot film so I use a bunch of my vintage lenses on my Pentax K5 IIs and my Olympus digital cameras too.

There's just something about vintage glass!
