for anyone having a problem with the audio length after conversion - convert it again, from mp3 to mp3 with any other program (dbpoweramp is recommended for any audio conversion). the ID3 tags will be correct after that, so players will read it as they should be. for anyone wanting to split the file into chapters, you can use mp3 splitter. not the most elegant solution, but easy to use.
I used NCH Wavepad. Weirdly slow for no reason at the task, but did work, and it was easy to set a silence level and duration to split on, which worked a treat.

I just uploaded it to google drive then preview it, says 'maximum size it can scan blahblah' but I slide the sliders back, press play and slide it back to the end and it continues playing past 16:39:04 and ends at 16:40:08 saying "You've been listening to audible, blehblehbleh hopes you enjoy this program" Only question remains is why does Amazon say 16 and 49.... and were those the last words of the book. I'm actually getting the physical copy so I'll have to wait T_T. This is a major confusion hassle.

Take Care: If you want to use this old version to convert to MP3, you urgently need to uninstall the newer versions. Even standard unistall is not enough, the user must be completely deleted manually. Unfortunately, this is not done completely during uninstallation. Delete C:\User\user\OpenAudible (user is your username)

This just converts files that you have already downloaded? I need to get them downloaded - I keep getting download fail whenever I try to download my purchased files. I can always convert them online - it's getting them in the first place, which it looks like the latest version of Open Audio does.

@@Lloyd_Christmas11 I thought the same too. My high school gave us iPads. I used windows as a main device (PC/Laptop) all up into year 12. Uni came and got a Mac just for the sake of it said why not. The design and simplicity is so f*cking good. My current performance on my MacBook Pro 2020 laptop is incredible too for work. Battery and performance is great with many projects running all at once. They’re terribly overpriced but the new Mac M1 Chip is incredibly powerful and they’ve come a long way.
