Dayseeker is one of those underrated gems in the scene. Holy shit the talent in these guys is unbelievable. Rory's vocals is one of the best I've heard. Fucking beautiful.

This was filmed and recorded live. Everything you are hearing is them actually playing and singing. Everything was done in one take. There was no studio.

And rhythm guitar. What I mean by "one take" is they never stopped. No "punch ins". They had to play the song all the way through perfectly while they were being records and filmed. Then we went back and did the same thing with harmonies and a second take of rhythm guitar. pretty cool process actually, its like in between live and tracked. so it still has that live feel with the small flaws here and there. But because each instrument is recorded separately it allows for better sound quality.

Well the original song had a lot of screaming in it. A lot of this is new melody. His voice is beautiful, I really enjoyed hearing this in comparison to the original.

What do you consider not horrible?
it's not a one shot recording people - they obviously recorded this in studio and just acted it out on camera with the recording dubbed over. Who do you think does his harmonies - and there is no mics on the acoustic. No this does not matter, its how you should do it, but it was bothering that so many people were congratulating them on recording it all in one shot lol.
Not a studio recording, we recorded it live. Every member tracked individually but had to get one perfect take. Once everyone had recorded their individual tracks, we mixed and mastered the live recording together. And yes, there are mics in front of the acoustics.

Rory isn't using harmonies, its called a voice octaver, and if you look at the other acoustic stuff they do like Resurrect that's actually on Baldwin Media's channel which is accredited here, they say all recording is done on location, not in studio. But either way its an amazing acoustic version weather its tracked in one take or a thousand.
Horror Harmonies recorded after the main vocals were done. Definitely not using a voice octaver, just a heads up!

I love this version - I just wish they didn't slow the tempo - it makes the chorus feel a little off. Really beautiful rendition though.

i mean.. i get it, i've been through it, unfortunately, it seems all humans have to deal with this thing.. but its just.. tired. real emotion, real pain, real feelings, i get it. but.. doesn't mean its still not tired. we can, seriously and literally, we can learn from example. sure, feel what you do from something, but move on. this is common.. common.. and very typical especially to a certain class or race of people. We rely so heavily on some other person to objective and validate our experience, or life, this is a huge mistake. we ourselves must have worth and value 'intrinsically' if we are to find it externally. end
+Swansen03 the songs 'great' sure, i'm not saying that, but, still doesn't invalidate anything i've said. there are ssssssooo much more to life than the social construct of a 'romantic relationship' our society projects into us as being all important.
I believe this song is not a about a girlfriend but rather about his mom giving up on their family and leaving due to her drug addiction. As well as giving up due to her husbands parkinsons

This song just drags on for 5 minutes. I don't understand what you guys see or hear in this song. The vocalist just doesn't change it up and sounds boring.
Nice job though on the whole recording process and just nailing it in "one shot" It really doesn't look very difficult to me. Just my opinion though.
