What a great way for Mel to finish. Didn't know he had six months left before the cancer kills him, but he finished his baseball days on a high note. "You can't fired me! I got a contract! I'M RANCH WILDER!"
Easy, Ranch. Less is more.
Not anymore you’re not.
(tears up Ranch Wilder's contract to shreds)
Now pack up everything that belongs to you, turn in your microphone and your headset, and get out! Your services here at Anaheim Stadium are no longer required. You’ll never work in baseball broadcasting again.
Your contact? We refuse to renew.
@@Frankie-O (tears up Ranch Wilder’s contract to shreds)
My Favorite Part. Ranch, You're Fired. Haha. 🤣
Ranch: *angrily* YOU CAN'T FIRE ME! I GOT A CONTRACT! I'M RANCH WILDER! 😡😡😡😡😡
Me: Oh, shut the hell up, Wilder! You never believed in this team at all!
Yeah many will disagree with me but this will always be my favorite baseball movie of all-time. A movie bigger than the game of Baseball.
this aged well for the 2002 angels
Omg I can remember having this movie on vhs 😟 the good old times
Reg when Mel caught that ball: “I don’t know if I’ll be putting this headset on again”
love at the very end ranch getting fired from his job, and the co announcer gets his time in the lime light as the new official voice for the angels
He refused to believe it.
I remember when i caught a line drive like that when i was a pitcher. It was such a quick and clean catch and i couldnt believe i did it it was like an out of body experience
2:10 - Oh wow, never noticed before. When the players are walking off, the catcher (on the far right); he starts limping badly after another player tries to jump on his back.
Wow good catch lol
@LOTR_RTTF If I remember correctly, didn't he have a bad knee, or something?
Uploaded on my birthday! Still love this film, and this scene in particular!
Ranch, you're fired.
Karma personified
Not even a “reason why I am firing you” speech? Cause that’s what real employers do.
@@puterboy2 No need. The comments over his radio say it all.
Thus entire movie gets me every time
Ranch probably bet with a bookie saying Angles would lose again that season ! Why he was so angry they won! 🤣
In the movie, it's explained that when ranch and knox were players, ranch was involved in george's career ending injury. Whether it was intentional or not, they had been at odds and ranch just wanted george to fail as a coach.
It would be really great if this Classic Movie was on Disney+ 😀⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
🤔⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
It's now on Disney plus!!!!
What a great way for Mel to finish. Didn't know he had six months left before the cancer kills him, but he finished his baseball days on a high note. The angels that helped the team throughout the season did so to help get their confidence up and restore their faith in each other as a team. It was that faith and confidence that led the team to win the final game without divine intervention. The work of the angels was done and it was that exercise of faith that led Mel to end the game with that catch.
Here's me as the landlord of Howard Stern's studio in California from 1:48-2:02
Howard: [frustrated over the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA championship and looking on as his crew celebrates in excitement and does a karate chop on his desk in agitation] "I can't believe it!"
Me: [walks in the door] "Howard?" [Howard waves and grins innocently but I'm not impressed on how many young women he had show him their naked bodies] "You're fired, buzz!" [Walks out slamming the door]
Howard: [angry with me] "You can't fire me! I got a show to run! I'm calling Kim Kardashian!"
Robin: [smiles in confidence] "Take it easy, Howard. Better start looking through those "want" ads."
one of the greatest mysterious has always been if the Angels went on to win the World Series.
They got blown out unfortunately
@@YTW-rw6pr lol. is that canon. and who swept them?..
1994 right? They beat the Expos in the WS.
I believe it's just a Fanfic about the 1994 MLB Season as told by Disney 🤣🤣🤣
I loved 90s baseball movies as a kid, especially this one. I always wondered, though, why the movies end with the main character’s team winning the pennant instead of the World Series.
😇 angel wins
The Pennant is the ALCS and the NLCS. . . . This game was the last game of the regular season. . . . Technically, they won the division
I was just about to say 😅 They only won the division. They still had to get through the ALCS since this came out the year before the Wild Card and Divisional Series was introduced to baseball.
I’d like to think the Angels riding this momentum they go on to win the World Series.
@@jameslisle7775 I would too.
Rookie of the Year had the same problem but even worse because we're supposed to believe they won the WS even after their best pitcher and best reliever both suffered horrible injuries on the same day.
@@bigbearkat2010 and they made their besy pitcher look like a bum. LoL
"there are angels!" I didnt realize thats what he said before we never got to see the angels but Mel did and he earned his wings amongst everyone
At Least Wally finally got to be the sole broadcaster because ranch wouldn’t let him be the sole broadcaster but keep the broadcasting for himself
Baseball, and this movie, are beautiful.
Hmmm Less is more? I wonder if I could convince my boss at work of that?
You can't fire me!! I got a contract!! I'm ranch wilder!!!!! Easy ranch, less is more. And the angels have won it!!
Hank Murphy? THANK YOU!
Ranch: I can’t believe it!
Murphy: Ranch.
(Ranch Smiles)
Murphy: You’re fired.
Ranch: You can’t fire me! I GOT A CONTRACT! I’M RANCH WILDER!
Wally: Easy, Ranch. Less is more. And the Angels have won it!
Not anymore.
(tears up Ranch Wilder’s contract into shreds)
Now pack up what belongs to you and get out!
When Cowboy Hank Murphy turned off his radio, I was immediately thinking, "bye bye, Ranch. You just called your last game."
Tell me if this sounds really crazy, but it is believed that I looked to this movie as an inspiration for the Phillies winning the 2008 World Series.
The man fielded his position.
1:49-2:09
*Ranch Wilder:* _(takes off headphones in frustration)_ I can't believe it! @ 1:49-1:53
*Hank Murphy:* _(enters commission booth)_ Ranch? _(Ranch turns to face him, grinning as though he supported the play)_ You're fired. _(exits commission booth)_ @ 1:53-1:56
*Ranch Wilder:* _(yells in range)_ You can't fire me! I got a contract! *_I'M RANCH WILDER!_* @ 1:56-2:03
*Wally:* _(cheerfully turns off Ranch's microphone)_ Easy, Ranch. Less is more. _(turns on his own microphone)_ And the Angels have won it! @ 2:03-2:09
Angels winning? Excellent news! Ranch Wilder booted? Satisfying.
Ranch Wilder is the villain in this movie. Like For Real.
I can’t believe that kid is John Blake from The Dark Knight Rises.
Don Jon actor AND director.
And that adult from the Sin City sequel along with Christopher Lloyd.
They just needed the confidence to believe in themselves
Faith, the most powerful thing!
1:52 Ranch......You're Fired
You can't fire me, I GOT A CONTRACT, IM RANCH WILDER!!!!!!!
Easy, Ranch. Less is more. (Switches on his own microphone) And the Angels have won it!
Love this movie.
I hate how Ranch just sat there while everybody was assisting Mel.
2:03 love this scene as well for Ranch Wilder what goes around comes around
He couldn't believe it? He didn't believe it.
I always wondered why they didn't end the movie with the Angels winning the World Series
Rip Mel Clark this made me cry so bad because I lost my grandpa in 2020 rip grandpa😭😭😭🥹
angels need to bring these uniforms back
1:52 Vince McMahon: “Ranch Wilder, YOU’RE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” 😡💢🔥🔊📣📢
Hey Ranch...YOU'RE FIRED
