They don't do many open days so if you get the chance to go I'd say go for it, it really is a lovely place. Especially with that 1 in 13 gradient, no engine would want to take that lightly! :P Ta for watching and commenting :)
After 6 days you tube are letting me comment once again. I have watched your previous films Kris all excellent as usual and today I can finally comment. Lovely sound coming from the loco. Nice one. All the best...Tim.
That it was, glad I got the chance to go. Although strangely it was my dad who suggested it, usually I'm the one who suggests railways to go to :P Thanks for watching and commenting Dave :)
Thanks very much :) No it was all taken on the same day, they just swapped around the headboards. Also some of my shots aren't in time order, so the continuity will be a little off.
Hmm. Very interesting. Always wondered what his railway was like. If they have another next year, might try and go. And I can see where the HILL comes into the name. :)
Hello @SpeedToTheWest I wanted to ask if I could use a couple of clips from this video (credited to you of course) in an upcoming podcast where we mention the Fawley Hill Railway's incline? If so I would be very grateful.
Well wonder no more! It really is a nice place there, I'm sure you'd enjoy it. But then again who wouldn't when you've got an engine barking away like that every twenty minutes :P Ta for watching and commenting Dan :)

Certainly looks an amazing place to visit on an open day! Amazing to hear an engine working hard like that!
Is that track really that steep?! 😮
Really enjoyed the vidio, thanks for posting.... must go to next open day!
Parts of it are 1 : 13 ... steepest standard gauge railway incline in Britain...
Brilliant just pure brilliant sound! That loco is the most hard working loco in preservation. Very nice film

Why must I live so far from Henley? What an excellent event that looked like, and brilliant footage too. Thank you for sharing it.

Next open day is the weekend 16th - 18th May 2014.
Lovely video - was it perhaps including some footage from another day when No31 had a different headboard?
Quite bizarre - but what Fun!!
Thanks Dave :)
