This is really beautiful - your fabrics are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your method with us. I have made one Kawandi quilt, and I plan to make more. Your video has really helped me to understand better how to enjoy this beautiful craft.
Thank you! You may consider skipping the batting and use 2 layers of backing instead. That way it’s easier to do the stitching. You can check my other video where I made kawandi pillow ruclips.net/video/BW5WqnT4QrY/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Yes, you are right. The difference with boro is in kawandi we don’t prefold or pre arrange the pieces. It’s quilt as you go method. Thanks for watching!
Thanks!

would have loved to see how you started out or handled the border .
I will take video when I do my next kawandi :)
I love this so much!!

How do you decide what fabric will have horizontal vs vertical stitches?
the quilting is done by stitching round and round starting from the outer border towards the center.

Beautiful give give starting video
Thank you!
It’s beautiful 😍. How many layers are you stitching together?
Thank you! I am using needle punched batting here, but IMHO without batting is best. The first kawandi I made with 2 layers of backing

The small triangles are symbol of flowers. It’s for decorative purposes. Thank you!! 🙏

Can I ask please, what kind of needle do you use?
Hi Karen, I am using local brand needle (jyoti needles). I showed it in my other video ruclips.net/video/BW5WqnT4QrY/видео.html
Thank you.
Las cuñas en las esquinas porqué se colocan? Gracias ❤
The wedges in the corner are a symbol of flowers, it’s (traditionally) for decoration purposes to make the quilt more attractive. 😊
could you please show how to make the corner pieces? for got what they are called.
We just call it flower 😀 It’s basically just a small piece of square fabrics folded diagonally and then fold it again to make a small triangle.
👍👍👍💟💟💟
Thank you!
Es la misma tecnica que la del boro, solo se diferencia en el tamaño de los trozos de tela ,en esta técnica los trozos son mas grandes
