well it never do
Yes it never changes no matter how many updates
Is it me, or does Dr. Nathan Foster and Raptor sound alike? Isn’t it supposed to be Dr. Nathan Raptor then?
whats the name of the game?
The mountain is called Olympus or Olympus Mons I think
"Per Aspera Ad Astra" is a Latin expression that means "through difficulties to the stars" more or less... Nice gameplay thank you!
I thought it was KSP's motto, "through asparagus staging to the stars" :P
Isn’t that the motto of the RAF
@@charlieh9725 correct... It's a bit different... Per Ardua Ad Astra but the meaning is the same
@@tango8210 thank you! I knew it was something along those line
so here we are observing the ancient beginnings of the Adeptus Mechanicus
No matter how many times the game tries to tell Raptor that "Worker Hubs are the best way to expand" and "Workers go back to their Hubs" he stubbornly refuses to play the game the way "The Man" wants. This is a hallmark of all Raptor playthroughs. Does not paying attention to basic gameplay elements every single game throws in his face make it harder for him every single time? Yes! Does it make me click madly on my own screen to try and take control of the game? Yes!! :D
Never change.
The name of the mountain is Olympus Mons. And remember, with A.I., "Keep it simple, keep it dumb, or end up under Skynet's thumb."
Seems to be a really nice game. You should do more episodes 'cause it looks really promising :)
i hope he does, i love watching his videos but he doesn’t follow up on them very often
Agreed this game looks interesting definitely need more videos of it.
Yes very good game! More episodes for sure!!!
Guessing they went for a part of the saying as a name, which is "Per Aspera ad Astra", which means through hardships to the stars. I mean it's pretty accurate.
Looks like a pretty cool game though.
And areology is the Mars equivalent of geology.
Ares = Mars, and "-ology" means knowledge (or science).
Olympus Mons. And I only know this due to the kick ass show. Exo-squad back in the 90s.
Yes! I miss that show. Cant find a copy anywhere
Ended on one of the most annoying cliffhangers ever.
@@MacClay8 yeah. It was the first taste alot of kids got at that type of cliffhanger ending.
@@vaevictis6990 yeah. They did like i limited run like 1st season DVD set, but it didn't sell so they didn't finish out the series. Mainly cause they didn't advertise it whatsoever. I only heard about it like 3-4 years ago.
I love:
1. AMI
2. workers making their own roads (like in Foundation)
3. how kind you are to AMI in your commentary, seriously made me smile!
4. seeing Yong Yea in the intro
Amusingly, the distance to Mars is so great that, even when it's at its closest proximity to Earth, the time it takes for a radio signal to travel between them is about three minutes.
That means the time it takes to make a comment, and hear a response, is never less than six minutes.
When at it's furthest distance, it's a 22-minute delay, or a 44-minute wait to hear the response.
I know you can't really model that in a computer game, but that initial conversation with Houston made me laugh. :)
Maybe we can pretend there's a space relay in between the two planets making comms easier
It's called lasers.
@@richardmorse5568 Yeah, unfortunately, the speed of light isn't just a good idea -- it's the Law. :)
The law dictates round-trips of 6-44 minutes, no matter what current or near-future technology we use.
Lasers can't go faster than light because, well, nothing can -- and besides, the beam they shoot *is* light. Coherent light, but still light. :)
@@thomashiggins9320 it was more of a sarcastic comment because this is a scifi game. The most logical real answer is the game skipped the 6 minute time it took to travel.
@@richardmorse5568 I don't even worry about it, really. It's a game, and playability matters more than tight adherence to reality.
In games, the most important rule is, frequently, the Rule of Cool.
I wasn't annoyed, and I didn't intend to disparage the game. Like I said, it just made me laugh.
PLEASE make a series out of this
Olympus Mons (Mount Olympus) is the mountain you're looking for
I'm still waiting for a planet-builder that let you build below surface several floors deep - beyond harsh surface weather. Having housing, eating and entertainment below ground, allowing inhabitants to walk around in civil indoor-clothes makes sense. The fokus should be on a "big station" rather then trying to recreate a "city".
Olympus Mons, which is an extinct shield volcano measuring 21km (13.6 miles) above the Martian surface. Which is about 2.5 times taller than Everest.
Yes please a follow up. I was waiting for the next dust storm to hit and witness disaster as so many buildings have been in a critical state, unrepaired for the second half of the video. 😜
Definitely make a series 👍🏽
All I ask for is a good ancient city builder, none of the games out there right now truly deliver what I'm looking for. Let us build carthageeeee
I can't wait to see what AMI does with the squishy humans. Martian bbq sauce?
Can't wait to start playing this game myself.
Olympus Mons I believe is the correct answer, and there is a larger mountain on the asteroid Vesta called Rheasilvia. Love the work. Much respect from Canada, stay safe everyone.
I haven't watched u in years now I'm back
Back Again
Huumans? Are you going to start quoting the Rules of Aquisition? 😂
This game gets very interesting very quickly ...I hope you do a full series
18:40 in Britain lays are called walkers and they’re called crisps (the correct way)
If he's on about Labarinthus. That is a valley the opposite to mountain. The largest canyon in the solar system. Olympus Mons is the largest mountain in the solar system. Or highest may be more accurate.
Interesting wee game you found Raptor, defo want to see more :)
I really am liking how you are playing a lot of different games right now as it seems to give options for you to continue based off the response to the game.
GLORY TO RAPTORIA
Needs to be more than simply slapping down buildings to be an interesting game.
Plenty of other options in games for you taste.... not everything will be to your liking then again we are talking about the times today where people either think and like the same things or they are attacked by the one who doesn’t agree.... please click your heels and look at the other options presented by raptor
This looks like an awesome game. I would love to see what happens with AMI / Skynet.
you should put the drone hubs at the edge of your current reach to expand it. hope ya keep playing ;-)
Glory to Mars Raptoria. At this point I'm just wishing kerbal 2 comes out. Although the idea of this is fun. Play Mars horizon first and then this just makes it feel like you are following a path.
Wondering if there is or if there will be a more realistic looking landscape instead of the topography lines. Looks like building on a paper map
And so begins the colonization of the Mars during the age before the Dark Age of Technology.
Wo Yong Yeas in this!!
Make Mars Great Again!
I would never play this game. But it definitely is entertaining to watch.
I usually like your videos, but this one is just too fast-paced. And after hearing "like and subscribe" for the fourth time it felt like you're just showing the game to boost the channel instead of actually enjoying what it has to offer.
I feel like this is how NASA will find the best civil architects to build on Mars.
I can’t wait for this game to come out, really looking forward to playing it
i would LOVE it if you did a full playtrought in this game
I would love a first person city builder game. Doing this yourself as an astronaut in first person with AI vehicles helping by bringing required parts would be awesome.
So essentially a Minecraft in space?
Name of mountain- Olympus Mòns
Looks beautiful...
Olympus mos
Olympus mons
Olymlunpys moons
Love the game play more please.
1 minute in and Raptor saying new phone who dis is just one of the reasons why I subscribe to him.
More Episodes please
hey raptor this game is absolutely amazing!
you think the devs will be handing out keys for you to give?
Ive already got the game on my steam wishlist and hope to get it when it releases
The tallest mountain in the Solar System is Olympus Mons. "Mount Olympus", if you prefer English. Truly, the sciences are a veritable wellspring of creativity.
It does translate to Mount Olympus if you directly translate it, but mount Olympus is a mountain on earth in Greece so it is better to call the Marsian one Olympus mons to create distinction.
ah yes per asparagus
Really enjoying the game, I can't help but wonder what would happen if you did the paranoid a.i. play through?
15:16 by splitting the water into hydrogen and oxygen, hydrogen can be used for rocket fuel
Olympus Mons. Huge mountain.
Awesome video.
The trench is called valles marineris. The deepest canyon in the system.
Interesting gaem
The voice actor for Nathan Foster sounds like Keener from DIV2
Olympus mons
Top ten
This game looks really good, just looked up the specs but don't quite understand why this game asks for "Certified ISA Comms Protocol Security Level IV"
Does anyone read the description and actually do the glory to raptoria? I'm asking because I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually do it.
Ganna have to get this game seams cool
Is the voice actor for AMI the same woman who plays Micheal in star trek discovery?. Sounds like her
I love this one 9 out of 9
Yes
what if the nukes was asteroids?
SpaceX plans to be doing this stuff in the next 10-20 years...this game was probably very long in the making that it mentioned 2077, instead of I think SpaceX's planned permanently settled colony in 2036?
Great videos BTW. Well done Raptor.
I THINK the dev team played it safe.
We saw the in-universe facts about the more recent project. If you click the other, they will _probably_ say that the first successful outpost was started in 2077, after an even earlier unsuccessful project which was hit by a disaster / evacuated after irreparable issues. And they won't give a date for the failed project.
2077 leaves enough room (heh, _time_ actually) for a prior project; after all, some of us might live long enough to see the first Mars outpost.
@@achtsekundenfurz7876 good point. 👍👏😎
wow, this is a cool game will there be a part 2?
Wait this is not the demo but the actual full game? I can't wait to play this myself
We need more aluminium - while sitting on a 14 stockpile and having 0 silica :D
good game
I believe the biggest volcano, which raptor call's "the biggest mountain", is Olympus Mons.
Olympus Mons is still a relatively young volcano. Although it has taken billions of years to form, some regions of the mountain may be only a few million years old, relatively young in the lifetime of the solar system. As such, Olympus Mons may still be an active volcano with the potential to erupt.
-Google (This is not a quote, this is an informative paragraph by Google.)
@john smith which makes Olympus Mons a dead ass volcano
i need this game....
Yesss we wonna see more🤩🤩
I didn't see a real reason as to why not keep up with a biodome/micro farm as my main living arrangements it's from a yay or nay voting process but the minimalism lifestyle required my entire attention so good luck with your lifestyle choices thanks 👍
With being able to hire troy baker, developer should have resources to.make good game.
New here. Is this better than surviving mars?
nice Phill Lamaar
It is actually the largest volcano in our solar system it’s called Olympus mons
The name of the mountain is Olympus Mons
Who's here before 100 views
Me
78 views
wow there only 78 views (right now maybe later there more)
Mount Olympus. GLORY TO RAPTORIA!!!!!!!
Remember to avoid the Noctis Labyrinthus area of the planet. That's where the nonsense lives
The What
@@Bruh-hq1hx It's a bunch of canyons on the western edge of the whacking great trench just below the martian equator. Raptor'll want to stay the hell away from that place.
Well I know what I'm buying next payday!🤗
Olympus
Play this game more.....
Big Mountain
Olympus Mons on Mars on a planet, but largest is on a moon called Rhea, I think!?. It a wikipedia's question.
Olympus Mons
Olympus Mons is the largest mountain in the solar system
Olympus Mon
Yep, looks and sounds good. Just need to order a better computer, with Win10 :|
This looks awesome AF
I love the idea of being an AI. Slowly learning. A bit of roleplay potential. I love it.
I like’a dis. I like’a dis much
hey bro ...dont play the snow game at 10 ...play the space game get use to mars then switch to this game and put use on mars at the 4 pm live show ....
so where can i find the demo, found 2 links online but they don't work
Too many roads! Would have liked if they changed it to manually build them
Or at least build less. I.e. if connecting two old buildings to a new one, don't build a "V" but a T or maybe a Y.
I hope we can at least remove roads which are in the way, and build better ones. Even if we can't build them manually but only specify the two endpoints.
Damn under 30 mins
