Wow, looks like you sure had a nice beach location there...and no tides to have to worry about! ;-) Always enjoyable to watch your exploration and adventures! Have a wonderful week! Bruce and Otis
Ah! Cheers Bruce 👍. Thank you so much for your continued support, it really does mean so much to me. I wish you both a wonderful week too my friend. Take care buddy. Atb, J 👍.
Great work on the filming and editing. Always enjoy your posts. Glad the pack frame is working out. Since I love my hammocks, I made to hard choice to invest in a down under and top quilt a few years back.Super light, super expensive, and you need to baby them. The upsides are no cold spots and very compressible. Paddling in that area would be fantastic. Thanks, again. Cheers!
Thank you so much my friend. I always appreciate your comments and support. The down under and top quilts sound like a really solid investment and could be a consideration for sometime in the future. The Loch would be a great place to paddle and I'll definitely be going back there with the packraft. Many thanks again. Take care. Atb, J 👍.
Oh boy, now that is my type of camping 👌 your pitch had everything. A woodland for shelter, access to water, peace and quiet, great views, you couldn't ask for more👍 Do live close to that area? It's a long old drive from South Wales for me. A winter camp would look awesome there👌 Take it easy J atb Taff 🤠👊
Hey Taff, it really does have it all and your right, it would make for an amazing winter camp. It was a 5 hour drive from where I live but it was totally worth it and I'll definitely be going back again - maybe in the winter, now that you've pitched the idea to me 😉. Cheers Taff. I hope that you are keeping well my friend. Atb, J 👍.
It's an amazing area Trev. I highly recommend paying it a visit sometime. It's so quiet and feels really quite remote. Many thanks as always buddy. Take care. Atb, J 👍.
Hey Sandy, That was a great video! I've fallen in love with that area after seeing this! Glad you're still getting out and about! I'm out this weekend and I may make a video ha ha Cheers mate Atb Mike.
Hi Mike, yeah it really is a truly stunning area. You'd love it. Hope that you make a film mate. It'll be good to see you out on your adventures again. Take care buddy. Atb, J 👍.
Really enjoyed that Jason. Good to see the pack out and working heavy or not. I checked out the location and could see exactly where you were on the North shore. Absolutely superb. Nirvana even. Well, good going. Mark
Thank you Mark, I really do appreciate that. It really is an idyllic location. I often crave the solitude which is so hard to find in modern life these days here in the UK but this place delivered in bucket loads. I'll enjoy returning even more next time, now I know what a wonderful location it is. I hope that you are keeping well my friend. Atvb, J 👍.
Cracking video Jason, liked the hike in and the pack. Weather was carp but thats Scotland hey lol. I am to old, to tall and to broken for hammocks, unless they are strung between two palm trees in the BVI with rum in hand lol. The scenery was breathtaking, what a spot. Keep it up mate, this type of content deserves a lot more subs and views. It will get there, no doubt about it.
Hey Moose, thank you so much for such a wonderful comment buddy 👍. I really do appreciate the support and encouragement. Typical Scottish weather but it's all part of the fun. I hope that your recovery is still going well pal and swinging between two palm trees with a glass of rum sounds like a pretty damn good idea to me 👍. Take care Moose and I'll hopefully catch up with you again soon. Atb, J 👍.
Great content and ethics. That's part of the Training Estate that we cover from Kirkcudbright and great to see it so unspoiled unlike many places the "uneducated" folks are let loose in. I rarely visit a spot for fishing or whatever other reason without leaving with some other "silly persons" rubbish . . . . Bloody hell I'm being polite today. Again, great video and keep'm coming 👍
Cheers Dene for your kind words and encouragement. Appreciated mate 🙏 Unfortunately I still see far too many beautiful locations abused and like you I end up disposing of other people's crap. Yeah, the air gets pretty blue when I come across an area like that. Many thanks again for the cool comment buddy. Atb, J 👍
I tried looking for that beech last year when I did a week Scotland but it was a mission to find so gave up and moved on. Great spot tho Jason, would be nice to divvy under that pine tree looked a decent shelter build. Take care mate 👍🏻
Cheers Sonney 👍. I definitely wouldn't recommend doing it on foot. Instead I'd plot a route from the Big Water of Fleet Viaduct and head for the south shore with an inflatable kayak or packraft. Absolutely stunning location. Can't wait to return. Many thanks again mate. Atb, J 👍.
Ha ha, cheers Mark 👍. Yeah, definitely no skinny dipping for me lol. The only time I end up in the water is if I've fallen out of the packraft 😄. Take care buddy and I hope to see you out again soon. Atb, J 👍.
Thanks Jason, lovely video. Stunning spot, what was it that first drew your attention to it?, I'd not heard of it so from my point of view really nice to see. Good find with that low shelter that had already been made, looked really snug. Filming myself noise pollution is my biggest bane, dead quiet there, you did the place justice mate, very good weight too on the gear, thanks for the info👍👍👍
Hi Chris, I've been aware of the area for quite a long time now but often overlooked it when I've been wild camping in Scotland. Watched a couple of vids on the area, which were always about the south side of the loch and I was already sold. I knew that it was a location that I wanted to explore more. You would absolutely love it mate. So peaceful and quiet. It's also an official dark sky park, so would be amazing for some night time photography also. Unfortunately on this occasion, the weather gods were not in my favour but it was still an incredible trip and I'll look forward to going back again. Many thanks as always Chris for your support, I really do appreciate it buddy. Take care. Atb, J 👍.
@@SandybackOutdoors Thanks, you did well with the filming and the weather👍🏻👍🏻, good to know about the dark sky park, I'd never heard of that before, so many nice places up here and good to see another, cheers Jason
What a lovely location albeit, overcast. I bet you were wishing you could have pulled out a fresh Trout from that Loch. As is often said, ''Travel Light, Freeze at Night''. Personally, I'm not so convinced by the warmth factor of one single Wool Blanket as even in Barracks, I was issued with 3 plus sheets for my foam mattress bed. Together with the silk liner (is it real silk or nylon silk?) a BIVI, an inflatable mattress and the wool blanket, I'd still probably be chilly, but packing anything more adds bulk and weight. Using the same pack(s), bedroll etc. what would you change for the next camp before winter sets in fully?
Hi Robert, yeah a catch and cook would have been great. Something that I've not done for a long time now but I'm sure I'll end up doing it again in the future. The silk liner says pure silk on the label and made in New Zealand. A great little addition to any sleep system imo. My first platoon Sergeant in battalion was a "travel light, freeze at night" type of guy. Not heard that saying for a long time. It brought back some great memories. Cheers. I've recently acquired an unissued M90 DA bivvy bag. So going forward I'd probably pair that with my winter bag, silk liner and inflatable pad for some ground dwelling. I hope that you are keeping well mukka in these crazy times. Until next time, take care and I'll look forward to catching up with you again soon. Atb, J 👍.
@@RobertsBulgaria Ain't that the truth. Unfortunately even more of the big brands are moving production over to Asia these days. Well I hope that your liner serves you well once deployed. Great piece of kit 👍.
Mint film Jason 👍. I was out with my Roycraft pack and made a short film. Nothing too fancy but its great to see this film because I mentioned on mine that you had been using one and had an overnighter lined up so they should jump over here n givevyou a sub n see how you get on with it 🙂👍. Top location fella. I've not been there although I've spent a lot of time in the area so I'll put it on the list 🙂👍. Cheers Jason, atb mate Rick n Billy ( no better place for a single malt) cheers

It appears to me that you really are fond of bacon for several videos that you eat and you’re always eating it. But you’re doing a great job I’m glad you started doing RUclips. Keep up the good work I know you’re getting a lot of fans from American now.
Ah! Phillip, you got me 😊. I do indeed like my bacon. I think that it's a fantastic camping food. Easy to pack, cook and it tastes great. In fact a Sandyback is a breed of pig from my hometown here in the UK. I really enjoy getting comments from the US. You guys really know your stuff. Respect.

The arch bridge that you’re showing in the beginning is that left from when the Romans were in England?
Hi Phillip, the bridge is from the Victorian era in Scotland and I believe it appeared in an Alfred Hitchcock movie called the 39 steps in 1935.
This is the best end of the loch. seversl other mini beches.
