This is, I believe, my favorite Comfortably Numb cover ever. I have seen and heard Pink Floyd perform this song so many times. It always brings tears to my eyes. Watching James Bell perform Comfortably Numb in that square for the first time brought me to tears as well. I love how his voice has matured. This particular performance I found his voice to be haunting and chilling. Powerful and beautiful in that way. He tips his hat to Gilmore but does it differently and more successfully than so many others. It works. The guitar again tipping his hat to Gilmore but playing so many personal tidbits into it. It has that Gilmore power but he puts his own personal stamp on it. I especially love the.....They'll be no more .......Aaah, Aah, Ah....being delivered on guitar. It's so different AND perfect. And how he let's his body fall into the power of emotion that's being played. He feels it all and it delivers that emotion to the listener. His stage presence is professional, emotional and so cool to watch. I agree with so many others here. We should be watching this man in an arena. I will be honest....I do prefer the Floyd, UFO, Prince, Trower, Bonamassa type stuff over the more easy listening offerings, which do have great playing in them as well. I'm sure with his recent health conditions these most recent offerings are probably a lot easier on his ears and mind. I do hope that he'll be able to give us his own classic offerings in the vein of Comfortably Numb/Rock Bottom/Purple Rain. God knows he has the talent. He's releasing music at a pace artist masters of all mediums do.
I really enjoy watching and listening to all of your stuff Mr. James Bell. I constantly share your offerings with other music lovers. You have brought a lot of happiness to people. In this world of turmoil and question we need people like you here with us to open up our hearts so we can spread that ripple out.
A challenging piece to play, and one which so many people have heard often. But James handles it, he has the skills, the control, the feel.

NO SHIT!!!! This song does the same for me. When I first heard this version I was brought to tears as well. He nailed it. The voice perfect. The emotion displayed in total groove with everything coming from those strings. He feels it.

Nat King Cole thought he couldn't sing very well and he had one of the best voices of all time, up there with the likes of Sinatra. Comfortably numb is strange in that the vocals are initially almost spoken, before being sung towards the end. I don't have to say anything about your guitar playing that I haven't already said many times in the past.
