In the sixth and final part of our adventure, we arrive in the champagne region for an overnight stop on a campsite before heading for home. Join us this week as we camp next to a beautiful lakeside beach, enjoy some epic local beers and of course taste fabulous champagne!

Enjoyed your tour, made us want to get back to France and the Champagne region, we stayed in a Gìte at Montier-en-Der many years ago and it was the Lake there were we watched the parked up Motorhomes and thought, we should do that!
Oh wow that's exactly what happened to us too 😂 Sat in Normandy watching the motorhomes coming and going exploring all the beaches we decided we wanted to get one too 😍 It was our first time in the Champagne region apart from passing through Reims once and we were blown away by the beautiful landscape and scenery, definitely one we will return too soon. The only problem with France is so much of it is fantastic 😂
Really enjoyed sharing your road trip with you. It made us so excited about getting our autotrail expedition 67 pop top, when it finally arrives, ordered last September, due March, then June, then September . . . Now January next year!!!! None the les, seeing your travels fills us with so much excitement of what’s to come. You captured such beautiful sights, campsites, and atmosphere. The scenery was stunning. I bet you’ll be glad to get back to Millie!! Look forward to more adventures back on British soil with our favourite border collie. All our love, Carl, Jackie & Daisy xxx

Hi Guys, I work in Cumbria a lot and when I'm driving between appointments I don't really notice the surroundings as it's work possibly the same for your bus driver. I think Tolls are a necessary evil if you only have a couple of weeks, we use a municipal site in Chalon' En Champagne when we are on our way back using our beloved folding camper but in our Cali and our new van when it finally arrives we rely on free Aires possibly something worth exploring next time. That's a very good point, if you see it every day guess you get used to the scenery 👍 Will take a look at that site thank you, sounds ideal we struggled to find many sites in the area so handy 😁

Been good watching you tour round France don't have a motorhome but go to France twice a year with kids use eurocamp holidays toll roads aren't cheap but best way to get from A to B fast one day we will buy a motorhome ☀️⛱️😀
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the videos, we are currently finishing planning this year's trip, back to Europe but not as much in France this time. We used to stay in mobile homes in France on sites and kept looking at the Motorhomes too, it was good inspiration 😁👍

Ha ha it's still smarting now 😂 The big question for next week is what will be more expensive part of the trip - the campsites, the fuel or the toll roads 😬

Not sure if you have been that way before but Dinant is a beautiful place to visit with a citadel, it's the home of the saxophone but also the original Leffe brewery, it's not brewed there anymore but there is a museum and tour with lots of beer tasting, it's well worth a visit if you are in the area, we haven't been yet in the van but will be hopefully soon 😁👍
@@VantasticAdventures . Thanx guys for the recommendation, it could be another detour . So much to see and do. I think it will take 6 weeks to get to the Spanish border. 8 weeks might not be enough 🥴
Hope you enjoyed your trip to France. We are back there in August after not going for 2 years due to Covid so we are raring to go. We’ve just downsized from an A class motorhome to. 6.36 m campervan and looking forward to being able to get into more locations
Oh Fantastic Steven, hope you have a lovely time, they cater so well for motorhomes but with the campervan you can go into places without worrying you might get stuck etc. We didn't struggle parking anywhere either which was really handy if you just see something and what to stop 👍😁

Thanks for the brilliant videos guys over the last few weeks. France is amazing, I am a big fan and my family and I tend to go back year after year. Looking at your videos has kept me going with excitement for our own road trip (by car) to Southern France for the last couple of weeks of August..........and to an area also with lots of Flamingos! Keep up all the fab videos, love them!

I’m wondering how you found living in the van for two weeks? We’re looking at buying one very similar to yours to tour Europe for an extended period, possibly up to 2 years. Maybe you could cover that issue in a future video? Thanks again.

That's a great question, this was one of the longest trips we had stayed in the van but we both said we could have easily carried on for much longer, in fact we missed the van very much when we got home 😂 Once you get into a routine it becomes very easy to manage and we had a good process for set up or packing up which made it easier moving around. Also with the Adventure having the pop top you have almost a separate room if you do need your own space or one of us was tired and wanted an early night - this is a great benefit 👍 Will try and cover off in a video soon as it's a great question so thanks for asking 😊

I have a question about the bikes. I was looking at getting a Brompton as I am typical bike geek who thinks that I should be paying loads for quality. Would Iain recommend the Carrera over Brompton?
Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed the videos and yes it was the longest time away from Mollie and she was very pleased to see us 🥰 That is a very good question, originally we started looking at Brompton as they have a fantastic reputation and excellent build quality but we couldn't justify the price for the spec comparison - the other main factor was wheel size, 20 inch wheels make a big difference which were standard on the Carrera bikes. Normally wouldn't entertain buying a bike from Halfords own brand based on previous experience but they started to become more credible when they launched the voodoo MTBs a few years back and genuinely we were pleasantly surprised by these, they have come a long way! Full review on the bikes should be in 2 weeks 👍😁

It was a debate before we set off, COBB or Weber..... We like to use the fuel blocks for the COBB but weren't sure how readily available they would be in France and didn't want to carry lots for weight so decided to go with the Weber as a "lighter" option and buy light weight charcoal as we went... We ended up donating a big bag to get campsite when we left Annecy 😂 low weight was key for this trip so Caroline could get more boxes of wine 🍷😉
Thanks and I agree with Caroline on the logic 🤣 more room for wine 🍷 we are learning a lot from those who go before us on these trips ! We enjoy our Friday watch of your vlogs! I’ve been practicing on the COBB at home.. even cooked a whole chicken on it in an hr and 10 mins ! It’s fab but it is quite bulky to take all the bits you need. We won’t have long enough in France to need it but will deffo take it when we can take long trips ( just work getting in the way of our fun !! )
Oh wow your chicken sounds fab! The COBB is so versatile it opens up many options normal bbq can’t offer 😀👍 We are glad you enjoyed the videos, we are already planning the next big trip but like you need to find the time off work first 😂
Why are you booking sites in France? Occasional nights only for us, much prefer aires.
Love the Aires Jason, can see why you use them so much - our main reasons were the locations we wanted to visit we wanted to stay for more than a night or 2 which made the campsites a better option plus as it was not peak season they were very reasonably priced (circa 20 - 25 euros per night) so it worked well. Although when we return we will definitely use Aires for overnight stops in future, the one in Oradour was a great taster 😁👍
