Somehow I literally thought you were going to say "We unboxed it hour and a half ago and it's installed." If you had I really wouldn't have been surprised 😂
BREW2L, I just received my new April Hemmings Motor News and it has a Foxbody GT on the front cover. You know when you hit the cover page of Hemmings the Foxbody is really starting to make it big and gaining the respect of all car guys throughout the world.
After watching this video 2 years ago, I set a goal for myself to get a fox and turbo it. Got me one, and Friday I picked up a vs racing 7875. It’s too much for the car but I got a deal on it I couldn’t pass up. Thanks for the inspiration to get back into my dream car!
Measure twice, cut once! I am so stoked to see not only a power adder, but a turbo going on the Calypso!! Looks like you guys are making great progress as well. Cant wait to hear it fired up!
Here’s some tips that I was told/ did for mine. Crank over first with the coil unplugged to prime the turbo with oil for the first startup. You should tune with no boost controller at first. Keep it at the spring psi then get a good tune going and then install the controller and increase according to what you want to run. I bought a 90 intake tube off Amazon and a few t clamps and couplers , that silicone coupler felt cheep. The sn95 upper rad hose fit great and directs away from the turbo. Watch the steel oil line near the alternator wire bolt. Good luck my friend, certainly worth it.
I removed my bumper and then later installed a fabbed up tubular bumper because of the fear of the front bottom of the bumper cover being caved in at high speed. You claim to be a novice, but your doing excellent work.
I am swapping a bone stock 5.0 and aod from my 91 Gt into my 91 lx 4 cylinder car. The body on the lx is completely rust free and in really good condition. The plan is to swap “everything” from the gt which has some rust issues and install the On3 turbo kit and leave the engine completely bone stock from oil pan to throttle body! Should be a fun little build but I’m sure time consuming! Thanks for the info!
One tip, if you are keeping your swaybar, change the bushings if needed BEFORE installing the passenger side header. You don't want to know the struggle that was with that header & turbo bolted up
I have the 4 drawer Harbor freight black roll cart which I have had for about 6 years just last week my bottom drawer lost all of its ball bearings but its my fault I use it everyday and I kept overloading it but it still works
You said 3 weeks I knew better than that all of them parts laying around knew you had itchy fingers like I said before you have pride in your work best channel keep the video's jumping
Looking good man. Make sure you disconnect the vacuum line going to the oil fill or you will be pressuring your crankcase. A catch can is the best way around it.
Yikes! Between you and all the others who have put these kits on makes me think twice about ever doing one. LOL!!! Seriously though, awesome stuff and I can't wait to see it perform.
Man u make quick progress..I surprised u had to cut that much around the intercooler..I have the 4" intercooler and the same kit same car same bumper didnt have to cut a thing..looks great though!
Excellent work I like the approach mock, cut, fit, that’s just how it’s gonna go adding a turbo to a car and sometimes just adding a Front Mount to a car that had a turbo you will have to cut. Off topic: Do you want a Cobra intake for the clone? I have one and several other 5.0 parts I’m actually pretty close to your location too...
Move the the alternator turn buckle one bolt towards the passenger side. The alternator will basically be laying next to the turbo. Mine actually touched
Before you get to terribly far it might be a good idea to swap out the on3 header gaskets with some copper style gaskets. Saves a lot of time in the long run!
Every car is different really. I’ve done a couple of these installs and never had that much bumper trimming. I’ve got an LX and outside of cutting the lower part that is it. I’ve also got the 4” upgrade
Just a heads up on your throttle elbow. Mike was having problems with his cavitating under boost. May check out his video on getting his tuned after the install. I think that’s when he figured out what was happening. Just trying to give you a heads up.
Just earned a subscriber! I watched all the same channels for installing this as well, I have a 92 notch in the process of installing. Pulled motor and trans to repaint block and upgrade to tremec
Great you tube channel!!! My advice is to move the rubber hoses away from the turbo. It will burn so fast. We installed the same into my car. I will send pics if you would like to see.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY my husband and I are very private. He has a 93 red cobra with a huge block and turbo. I have a black lx with cobra side skirts. I have an One 3 Turbo with a 302 engine. Ask me anything my husband will know what to do.
Love the build. Sick car also. That 90 coupler from the throttle body can’t be right. If the couple was shorter it may fix the issue with the next joint in the fender by moving the pipe rearward
Hey man I love watching your videos for a while love them I just inherited my dad's 1990 GT convertible it's an aod car I bought a set of GT40 heads in intake off of a Ford exploder it's already got the BBK shorty headers cold air underdrive pulleys x pipe a 6A l ignition 70 mm throttle body when I purchased the heads and intake I also bought the rear end out of the exploder it's got 373 gears the transmission shifts out great it stock do you think I'll be okay running a b cam or better off with an E cam not really wanting to put a stall in it right now in order to spend money on this car got to keep it where my wife can drive it she's a Gearhead herself but want to keep it a daily driver with attitude
I had to use a fabbed up elbow with v bands welded on the TB, I ran an accufab 90mm so it didnt want to fit mine either. I love v bands and their design so I used quality plasma man clamps Im pretty sure or vibrant or something, but it worked much, much nicer! Quick question, what MAF did you go with 05+ slot style? A slot style is very nice and give great transfer in a 3 inch cold side.
Getting it done man hell yeah! Question about the paint: Is that just the factory Calypso color? Or did you add a little something? The color just looks so damn good in your videos. Better than other peoples.
When I had my on3 kit I wasn’t happy with fitment and how many parts I had to upgrade so that I could get everything tight and right. It was an early kit tho
I'm wondering if moving the battery to the rear of the car (getting better weight transfer and traction as part of the deal) and spinning the upper intake manifold 180 degrees like a Lincoln or 351 lightning setup, and then running piping from the intercooler in the space vacated by the battery would have helped with the plumbing? I had a 1986 turbo t'bird and know the extra length of plumbing from an SVO front mount intercooler really didn't help boost lag from the factory T3 hairdryer below 3,000 RPM. Also, on a low deck Windsor, if you ever have an oil filter clearance issue, Ford's 300cid Inline 6 used in the 1960's for vans and pickups has an oil filter housing that rotates the filter 90 degrees. they go for over $100 new, tho. you may want an external oil filter and cooler setup, since the turbo needs oil that won't coke up if you aren't using a turbo timer.
That rubber intake elbow is very soft and will collapse on itself when you stab the throttle and create a bog. Id continue to the throttle body with the aluminum pipe and then cut the ends off the boot for couplers. frozenboost.com has polished intercooler tubing in case you cant source something locally
this makes me never want to look at a turbo kit, terrible fitment and all the piping under the hood just looks so crammed in, i dont like it. But good luck on it and hope you get it all sorted out and dont burn anything up, looks like alot of work to do after all the work you already did!
Any idea what exact kit this is? A link would be nice. There’s multiple on3 lots I’m seeing and would love this setup! Thanks for the videos I love them!
Good information. It definitely looks intimidating but you seem to be figuring it out. I bet the wife is loving the mess getting drug into the house. Lol.
Awesome video, I hate to rain on your parade, but your gonna smoke a hole in that AC line that’s sitting on the compressor housing. The compressor side gets just about as hot as the exhaust housing. Just and FYI.
I just ordered my kit and watching these install videos to get tips and tricks. I noticed your car was mass air. However didn't see you do anything with the mass air when installing pipe. Curious do you delete the mass air. My kit says it has maf matching injectors. Thanks
Hey man. I got a 92 gt. I'm looking on lmr for new heads and a b303 cam. I'm not sure what heads would be good. I'd get gt40 heads but can't find a good pair. I got a cobra intake. Any help? Just looking for a good boost in power. Thanks!

28 min video=awesomeness. Love the progress, great work. I can confirm that installing an intercooler on a lx front end is way easier
Its great, the progression o the on3 turbo has been quick. Best of all makes the engine bay show quality with all the shine. I really love this car!

This makes me think about finally doing a turbo build. Look pretty easy
The kit itself fits great! It’s the cutting that’s the aggravating part lol

Sorry to keep popping up in your comments wth suggestions! A hole saw to the lower bumper support for a smidge more air flow over the cooler!

Thanks brother! It’s the factory calypso green. I think it’s just the fact it’s resprayed. I’ve noticed that on a lot that have been re painted.
Awesome progress! Question: are you going to vent the valve cover on the drivers side? Or do you not find it necessary?
Use a 94/95 GT upper rad hose. Clears the turbo beautifully
