The Simcoe Bug has been a staple lure/fly for ice fishing perch and other panfish for decades. The fly is simple to tie and offers loads of chances for variation. Even if you aren't an experienced fly tyer this is the type of bug that even a novice can have a very easy time making with limited supplies. Don't overlook this fly for fishing panfish in open water as well!
At Drift Outfitters we have everything you need to plan your next adventure, get in touch with us or stop into the shop and we'll be happy to help you outfitted!
We're a proudly Canadian fly shop, serving fly anglers from coast, to coast, to coast.

Man...I could just sit and watch this stuff all day. If only my eyes and hands still worked.

    Thank you for this!!
Love the multi-season blending of fly tying and ice fishing.
Last year's Matt Martin session for dressing up ice fishing rigs was my first introduction to the concept!
