- Did you know that in Ratatouille, Pixar paid such incredible attention to detail that they even animated a scene no one can actually see? When Skinner finds Linguini and Remy in the pantry, he turns off the light, and Remy seems to disappear. But in that brief moment of darkness, they actually animated Linguini catching and hiding Remy under his hat.
That just goes to show just how much work animators do
***used to do
@@tomtheravenclaw8661They still do
However they're a lot more overworked and underpaid nowadays
It's called poor management lol
That rat got rizz for that lad 😂
@@tomtheravenclaw8661 animators still do a lot of work unnoticed. Work that get covered up by smoke, cloud, Fx. Work that get cut because it doesn't fit the story. pre-production work to just test the show. Work in the dark, shadows, far away, crowds, etc. That the majority of audience won't notice. every shot there could be a 20 different version of the shot being rework just because the client might not know what they want and want options. So yes, they still do a lot of work.
You can notice it if you look at his hair before and after Remy Disappears, it slightly changes
His other hand is lifting the hat simultaneously
@@Skankhunt6990I know that, but I'm pointing out the hair because not everyone is brightening up the screen just to see him do the motions.
Tell me why humans value hard work?
What people dont know is Practice makes Perfect and that Success are actually Linear ... on your way THERE WILL BE MISTAKES and that are Part Of Life.
You learn from mistakes, ofc easier said then done.
The hat is also out of place a little bit
If you really watch you can clearly see the left arm moving through a patch of light on its way up.
this whole movie was gaslighting that poor man😭😭😭😭😭
"Huuuh Da Rrat! *screech* *reverse car*
But i..ee...
"I just dropped my keys"!
Always kills me he str8 up thinks hes losing it 😅
It was necessary gaslighting tho😂
poor man?
@@willwall9725Nah
I mean, the guy tried to ride on Gusteau's fame and turn it into selling frozen foods, instead of honoring him and making the restaurant better, so he probably deserved it 😂
Man's got the reflexes of a god 😂
If ya look at the scene, you can see the flashes of darkness as he hides remy under his hat*
Edit: I Am so incredibly lost
Yeah
Yes
Some people may say
How do you see flash3s of dark out of sarcasm
But don't mind them
The only flashes of darkness going on around here is the saint in your profile picture 💀

What makes me a good Demoman? If i was a bad Demoman i wouldn't be sitting here discussing with you now would I!
Me and my brother used to rewind that part the most when we were younger because it was funny asf🤣🤣🤣…I miss you brother 8/6/2024
I’m sorry for your loss
That was so recent. I’m sorry.
🕊️
Hahaha damn how old were you guys? I would have never caught that as a kid😂
That’s my birthday rip to your brother
That's because pixar always learns from his mistakes
Why has this become a meme😭
Ah yes John Pixar 😂
They probably didn't know it won't show with the lighting and rendering.
I literally remember being a kid still seeing it and laughing in the theaters. I definitely am glad to grow up when I did. Despite the darkness behind the scenes in Hollywood, they gave me a lot of happy memories
Linguini is super fast to hide Remy. He's very smart.
I always saw it in the dark
Edit: thanks for all the likes 😅
Same
Same
Bro is not Batman ❌🙅♂️
Same
Ok but he still saw it@@pwrcaelenx
I bet alot of people noticed it when they watched the movie, and also how before, his hair is a bit tidy, and after he hid the rat (I always forget it's name) his hair is a little bit messier than before
the rats name is remy it literally said the name in the video
Bro thinks he unlocked the secret of the universe with this one
you guys didnt know but he was doing some crazy tongue action during that kiss, the animators went to such lengths that we wont even able to see it
You definitely can see it if your tv brightness is up though 😂😂
animators are the unsung heroes of the film industry
This feels like a similar idea to drawing a whole entire body before the clothes over top so you know just how it'll lay on them
It’s so appealing to see things like this in a time where everything is made to be so cost efficient and shrinkflation is everywhere
this kissing scene got me destroying my vocal cords and it almost killed the vocal cords
This was my all time comfort show as a kid. I have rewatched it in adult hood it’s so good.
As a kid I admired his fast reflexes in hiding Remy away
Yeah..totally saw that growing up. I saw the movement of his arm and of his hat while watching the movie. 🤷🏻
Remy experienced 12G with that kind of speed lol
Love it when people put their hearts out and people notice, makes you wanna make something yourself
I remember noticing it even at a sorter young age. I looked closer and felt like i saw movement in the dark
Finally the person who animated those 10 frames can rest in peace 😂
I saw it before you posted that I was watching ratatouille, and I literally saw it
no I noticed that too. I always really liked that detail, even as a kid. It makes it so you don’t have to wonder how he did it, which is really nice 😂
I was watching a movie in the classroom and we had to end it in the middle of the movie, but where it ended was the ugliest ending before we went to lunch. The kissing part 😭
Had to turn my brightness up all the way but I can see it and that just proves how much work and effort they put into that movie
Not only that, Linguini did that FAST but SMOOTH!
Did you know they put in so much attention to detail that the meal they make isn’t it ratatouille
That is one of the most terrifying things ive ever seen
I feel the same lol I had to look to see if anyone else commented about how unsettling it is
?
This is such a cool and beautiful parkour map
Only proves how fast our eyes react to light. Its definitely visible if you expect the light change and your eyes aren't over exposed. Doesn't take away from the point of the video but i think that's more what pixar was aiming for.
Keep in mind the animators typically don’t know what the render post effects is going to look like. They probably didn’t even know if it is going to be visible or not, but it makes sense to animate it for other reasons beyond that.
Imagine working a month for a scene no one can see lol
I actually did notice this when i first saw the movie, it was such a neat detail.
Thanks for the minecraft parkour on the bottom. Really needed that🙂
Ratatouille man. Good ol' Pixar days.
When companies actually cared about the stuff they put out
I cant unsee him doing it now
Wait, if you stare at the darkness for a second, you can actually see him hiding him
They definitely did this for those type of people that would edit the scene to be able to see everything and then make a video saying that they were lazy and didn’t even animate that scene.
"No one," but i actually caught a glimpse of it a second time watching, and it had me rolling
I guess the brightness on my TV was high because I saw it😂
Great short One Pixel Media :]
This is giving How to Train your Dragon vibes, with the animated giant dragon and the water that was added in after effects haha
It’s because animators and lighting departments are separate so they simply do their job
After many replays, you can see the action in the darkness, and holy hell that is creepy.
Ratatouille Just EASILY The BEST Animated Movie Ever Man. I FUCKING LOVE This Movie Man. ❤
I mean in reality the animation was done far before the lighting was decided. It was likely always the intention to have it be hidden as a goof but it’s always better to achieve effects in the least destructive way possible
That is because the animation department doesnt actually know how it will turn out when they send it to the visual effects department
I saw this movie so many times and i've always been able to catch this scene. My brightness must be maximum when i was a kid lol
They have to do that because they know they are some obsessed people out there that would analyze every pixel
Linguini is fast as fuck, ngl, no wonder his coordination is that good with Remy
And that is why Ratatouille is the greatest Pixar movie of all time
I had to turn up my brightness just to barely see it
I always saw that. Amazing movie. One of my favourites
Ah yes, ratatooie, my favourite movie
I never would of noticed but now that I know I can kind of see it but only because I know what to look for
I distinctly remember seeing that being animated
I mean that’s there job, because if you own the movie you can digitally brighten the scene and adjust contrast and such so they gotta animate it fully. Hence why animators sometimes hate CGI artists cuz most of there meticulous animation is “wasted” but it’s not really wasted at all even if it’s covered by particle effects or whatever
Attention to details such as, Rats being able to talk and being able to see through cloth well enough to pull on a persons hair to help them cook better ;)
I LOVE that attention to detail
I remember my old professor would sometimes say just to design or animate the full thing as if you're seeing it because sometimes you have a change of plans, trouble-shooting, or there is an error that can be used as back-up.
Did you know that rats are incontinent. They cannot hold their waste in. So that rat has been relieving itself all over the food
I feel like I always remember seeing him do that
they probably did it so they could still get the perfect timing
Pixar used to be something until disney went down with it(corrupted)
As soon as the darkness comes you can see linguini moving his hand to his hat
When pixer cared
I missed my childhood, and my brother deliberately explained that scene to be by using previous remote functions over 5 times. 😊😊😊
Mrbeast is just a hollow shell without any relatability or life, he had some in his old videos, but now he’s just a puppet in a video and never stops talking about the algorithm and his money
when he gets electrocuted, if you pause it at just the right time, you see his entire skeleton
Once you see it you can’t not see it
I’ve actually never missed it and could always see it
Another amazing thing about this movie is the art style and character design, it would work very well for 2d animation as well in classic Disney style.
Hence why his chef hat goes from straight to crooked.
2000s-2010s Pixar was so freaking goated
I cant believe they gaslit this poor man 😂😂
I could already noticed it when I first ever watched the movie-? I mean, what else are they going to put there? T-posed linguini and floating t-posed remi
The animation comes first before the darkness in the animation process
You can actually see it once you know what to find
Oh you can see it on the actually tv screen. Its awesome
first pin ples
Im edging to you 😩
Cringe
You finna be my opp
Pin of shame
@@virgilpatrickdelossantos7904"u finna be my opp🤓☝️" you are NOT hood bro
The fact that I seen that scene the first time I watched it is crazy
Linguini is so scary in the dark.
It’s the fact that you can see the animation, even in this short 😂
They definitely had fun animating this
Wow! Ratatouille is such a great movie
Thats very creepy. I WATCHED THAT MOVIE YESTERDAY
if it was done nowadays they'd just teleport the rat out of view
Actual if u look where his arm was u can see it moves
My guy these movies are meant for theatres first and home viewing second. You can definitely see that in a theatre. Trust me, no-one in the Animation and VFX Industry does anything more than it's needed and I'm speaking from experience.
Now I can’t see the scene without looking at this detail
The fact he look at skinner menacingly even at dark and catching remy and having a fast reaction to hide remy is CRAZY 😂
If you really look in the dark as well you can see his arm movement
You can quite LITERALLY see it all happen
back when these kid movies were actually goood
