Hey guys can I use this with a laptop and if so am I able to hook it up to multiple laptops? Because I have multiple computers and hard drives that I'm trying to back up.
Sure, it connects via USB, so you can connect it to each laptop when you want to back it up. Try to use a USB 3 port (red is fastest, or blue) for good transfer speeds. Might want to have a fan blowing over it if you're doing a large data backup to keep everything cool. Don't forget to subscribe and tell your friends to help us grow! Thanks for your support!

If you buy it in your own country it'll come with the correct adaptor; if you use our links to buy, just get the one for your country. If you're in the EU, buying one there should come with the right adaptor. For us we grabbed ours from AmazonUS, worked fine for us here in Taiwan, which is compatible electrically. You can but this kind of drive, you have to be really careful with it on your desk, if it's on and it gets hit/bumped/falls, you're really rolling the dice if the drive and data will survive the shock. HDDs are not like older laptop HDDs, which are bullt to have some kind of shock/drop tolerance. Plus the drive is SMR type, so a bit slower to read/write and a bit shorter lifespan too. TLDR- yes you can. But an internal drive is a better choice. Please subscribe, thanks for your support!
It's decent storage. You should Google around to see if there are any compatibility issues, but as long as the PS5 accepts most hard drives, it should be fine. Don't forget to subscribe and tell your friends to help us grow! Thanks for your support!

@@Techspin Depends for what usage if it's for 4K/8K video you are looking at around 16TB, this is for video's and temp files. If it's just for HD video's a 4TB is enough.
For PC, use an internal drive, though you could remove this one from the enclosure and use it as an internal. Better still is an internal SSD. If it's for console, search drive recommendations to see compatibility/reliability. Don't forget to subscribe and tell your friends to help us grow! Thanks for your support!
Really recommend AGAINST this for a few reasons- you really want your primary files in a much safer, non-mobile device, in case of bumps, hits or falls, and a fall while spinning will likely kill the HDD read/write heads or damage the spinning platters. Unfortunately this portable HDD does not have feet to keep it from falling over, also bad. And I saw reports that this is a SMR drive, which increases read/write times, and decreases drive life. Instead, you should get a proper HDD to install in your PC. Please subscribe, thanks for your support!

Hello, I just bought this HDD in 6tb but when starting it makes a weird noise, does yours make a weird noise (other than the noise of the ventilation )?
Ok, so just listened to mine- there's a whirring noise as the drive spins up, then some tiny mechanical ticks/sounds as the drive head does seek operations. These sounds are normal. If you have any loud sounds, especially ticks or knocks, try to backup any data immediately, but it may already be too late. After this is done, you can check the SMART status of the drive to see if it's near death, but usually any loud sounds will indicate it's on its last legs. BTW, portable hard drives are terrible for constant read/write operations, like torrenting for example, because of the heat produced. Also, be super careful not to knock it over, if you're writing to the drive and it gets a sharp knock, it's probably gone. One of the reasons we mentioned that this drive really needs a base stand in the video. Hope it's not too bad for you there. Don't forget to subscribe and tell your friends to help us grow! Thanks for your support!
How would you individually turn them on or connect them? Perhaps you're thinking more like internal drives or a RAID array? But for stacking, no we didn't see that in our episode research. Anyone?
I can't let the secret die with me. Actually, it's no secret, Seagate makes the crappiest drives of all. And yes, I'm talking from experience. But if you don't believe me then search on line for 'hard drive failure rate comparison chart' or something similar. Check the failure rate results from server farms. Don't believe best-buy user reviews. Toshiba, Hitachi and others are more reliable by orders of magnitude. If you don't value your data then go ahead buy Seagate.
1) It's incorrect to state that all HDDs from one manufacturer are poor when it's one or two product lines. 2) Orders of magnitude implies a 10x or higher, this is factually incorrect. 3) Hitachi, acquired by WD, is currently the best with Toshiba a close second. Check the Backblaze report- just don't buy Seagate 18TB drives! www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaze-hard-drive-stats-for-2020/ I had the same opinion about Seagate actually, having two drives fail on me about 15, 12 years ago, and having a failure of a primary drive certainly colors expectations.
