Carnival opened up cruising to a lot of people that never would have cruises before, my first two cruises were Carnival Elation and Carnival Legend, I’m older and my kids are grown so I like a more relaxed cruise now but when my kids were young Carnival was amazing. Disney cruise line was still brand new and didn’t do west coast cruises, so carnival was great for families especially on the west coast. When you take kids on Princess and there are no go carts, no water parks, no water slides, it’s boring for them. But it’s perfect for people like me that my kids are grown. And guess what Carnival owns Princess, Holland America, Seabourn, Cunard, Aida, Costa, P&O so they know what they are doing, they are the largest (by far) cruise company in the world. So there is something for everyone. Good job on your channel.
There’s obviously the big 5 cruise lines- Norwegian / Royal Caribbean / Disney / Carnival / Princess - but some great cruises can be found on cruise lines like Celebrity, Holland, Cunard, Costa or P&O. We all get tired of hitting the same ports in the Caribbean so try smaller cruise ships that are able to dock in more remote ports. Get off the big ships every once and awhile to try smaller ones.
We were on the Panorama in March for the 50th anniversary sailing. Had a great time. We've done the Mexican Rivera several times, love it. Carnival is our line of choice. The Vista is our favorite ship. TBH, don't know why people hate on Carnival, the price. itineraries and food are worth trying. So glad you haven't given up on them. Take care and happy cruising. ❤
Because people have a right to like and dislike whatever cruise line they want...I sailed Carnaval when I was in my 20's...they were my first few cruises but after a bit I out grew the line, that is just me...I now like a more calmer adult like cruise which is why I sail with Celebrity and Oceania...
Every cruise line has a different feel and I think it is okay to have a favorite. It doens't mean you can't cruise them all. Sometimes I choose the cruise by the ports offered. You guys give perspectives for many different cruise lines and that is helpful for watchers to make better decisions on what they want from their cruise.
You will like the Panarama. It’s a real cool new ship. My wife and I did that itinerary in January 2020 ( right before the pandemic). Also, do have a meal in the restaurant that serve ramen noodles (can’t remember the name). We had lunch at the restaurant on the last day. If we had known how good it was, we would have eaten there several time throughout the trip. Overall, it’s one of Carnaval’s better ship.

To be honest I am not a fan of Carnival. My very first cruise was on the Carnival Legend in 2004, I just never felt the need to go back after cruising w/ NCL (my favorite) or RC. I want to try Disney and/or Virgin next.
We found an awesome deal on Carnival where we got a suite for less than a balcony on RC. You can bet we jumped on it. Being seniors, we don't know how much longer we can cruise so we are going to jump on it. We would love to try NCL and Celebrity as well. Our next cruise is Alaska in September on RC. I don't play favorites, but when we find a deal, we will jump on it. I am really glad we found you channel.
Look forward to seeing your videos on the Panorama. We are going on the Navigator of the seas in November.The best part is we don't have to fly!!! Haven't been to the Mexican Riviera in a long time. It is great to see cruise companies investing in cruising on the west coast. I have been on many of the cruise lines and now we mostly go on Royal. I have been on Holland America, Carnival, princess and Celebrity along with some cruise lines that don't exist any more. However, we have been talking about going on one of the edge class ships of Celebrity. Enjoy your west coast cruise! Hope you can take some time to enjoy my home town of Long Beach.
Yes you do read that alot many are totally 1 cruise line abonnement you could say 🤷♀️ Not daring to try an other 🤔 but prices / time of travel of course could play apart . We were going to do one to Norway. But sadly due to health issues we won’t be booking 🥹 But who knows maybe next year . Well said. I have been on many cruise lines and have to agree that each can be fun if you leave your high expectations ashore. No cruise lines are prefect. Some are down right wild and crazy, others top notch services, great entertainment, delicious cuisines, lovely Staterooms, the list goes on and on. Love you guys so much always appreciate you giving us the facts on the ships you have been on. I agree as long as you are cruising who cares what ship it is....I am a carnival most of the time cruiser because on my next cruise I will reach platinum. Once I reach that milestone I will probably go venture onto other ships just to see what they are like but my motto is "Just Cruise". Thank you guys for being true to who you are and spreading the LOVE!!
Great video! I totally agree with you. Each cruise has something different to offer. Just got off the Carnival Radiance and she was beautiful! I will suggest when cruising this summer to take extra Covid precautions. The ships are much fuller and more crowded, as I experienced on the May 30th sailing. I had managed to be Covid free through my last 2 cruises in September and March, but this time it got me and my 2 boys. Luckily we are all vaccinated and boosted, but it’s no fun that’s for sure. I tested positive 3 days after disembarking. I wish I would have worn a mask in the crowded areas. At least now I will be more immune if I go again. I’m looking forward to hearing when you plan on sailing the Panorama! I can drive there and meet up with you if the time is right. Take care!

I think you can have a favorite Cruise line and allow other people to have their favorite Cruise line without trying to rip apart their choice. People have different likes and dislikes. A family traveling with young children might not be happy with the same Cruise line as empty nesters who want a quieter atmosphere. Live and let live. I love all the cruise lines too.
Yes, we completely agree that it’s natural to have preferred cruise lines and be loyal to those lines for great perks! That said, belittling other lines or cruisers for liking other lines is where we find ourselves rather put-off and, honestly, okay with ending conversations with people onboard ships right then and there. Spreading positive vibes not hate. 🫶
Do you all have a video or will you make a video about the casino comps? How much should you plan to spend to get comp offers, etc. That might be a good way to cruise more, I don't really gamble but... if it got me offers I might.
To each his own. I can cruise one line and may have a fantastic time..jump on a sister ship and it's lousy..it just depends on the cruise. When you leave home remember to pack your good attitude.
We have done 9 cruises with Princess and have decided to try different cruise lines starting with Carnival Panorama - Mexican Rivera in October. So, I will be looking forward to your videos on the Panorama. I have met lots of people what have tried several cruise lines with the same thought of wanting to mix it up. Thanks for sharing :)
It says good things that all the cruise lines have their loyal cruisers. Means they do things well. I cruise across all the lines and have never had a bad cruise. For me I like the variety of changing things up . I do know to expect a different experience on each line.
tip... the panorama has a very unique food experience, particularly bonsai sushi. bonsai sushi has it's own menu that you won't find on any other ship and the food is AMAZING.
Great video! I would sail all of the cruise lines but at this point .. I am about just starting to get back to cruising/vacationing again and getting to the fun fast! Living in Texas, that's the Galveston Port and that means there are not many options for now (but new ones are coming soon)! I have only been on one cruise line and haven't had a bad experience yet (Carnival) and sticking to it to get reward status to one brand. But yes, when we are on a land vacation and mention cruising Carnival always gets put down and that we should sail Royal Caribbean. LOL! We just say .. it works for us and we love it so far. BTW so glad I found JJ Cruise. Going to costa maya soon and your video helped me a lot with deciding to stick around the port or going to a beach club. YAY!

Carnival has some pretty incredible Mediterranean, Baltic and Norway cruises for this summer and next summer. Including a rare stop in Greenland 🇬🇱 Super rare for Carnival to expand their cruising market overseas and the prices are great! 💓
OMG love this and couldn’t agree more with "my favorite cruise is the one I’m on". I’m on Odyssey of the Seas right now and feeling like I need to cancel my cruise on Carnival Magic because I need to do Royal and only Royal in the future. But I know that I need to take a breath, go home and let the cruise high come down so I can continue planning and getting excited for the Magic in 2023. This happens to me every single cruise!!!! Why?!?!
I think if the other cruise line lowered their prices to match carnival, we would sail other cruise lines. Currently the other cruise lines are out of our price range. Ex: we are going on a 7 day carnival Vista cruise, a balcony for $800 (for 2 people) The other cruise lines are waaayyyyyyy higher
Great show guys. We prefer Carnival since we are a bit on the "out going" side. However I agree, there is a cruise line for everyone's personality and likes.
I primarily cruise Royal and Princess. I went on Carnival Freedom but, for me it was a bit too much of a Vegas party. The ship decor was loud and not relaxing or luxurious. However, the service was 👍 great. I would like to try Mardi Gra. It looks much different than Freedom.
Hi guys, I cruise on Carnival a lot due to their "casino" program perks. There MDR menu is the same on all ships, basic meals, lasagna, beef tenderloin, a very skinny prime rib, short ribs. No lobster or escargot on four and five nights, no white linen table cloths on the tables. unlike RCI. So if you are not there for better dining in the MDR, Carnival fits the bill for an economical and "fun" cruise. When my wife cruises with me, its always a RCI ship with a balcony; cruising solo, an interior or oceanview cabin is fine. The stateroom stewards and MDR wait staff are friendly and cordial.
My husband and I also will be on the Panorama (on the 03-Sept sailing) in a Havana Suite. We originally booked it for Sept 2020, but pushed it off till now due to COVID. We're looking forward to this new-ish ship and nice Havana hot tubs in our area of the ship! Will you both be booking a Havana room? It doesn't seem worth the cost on the Mardi Gras, but I think it's a good choice on the Panorama.
Negativity always creates animosity. Equality is key to amity. The way I have found to elude the haters are, (example)... the five things I liked about the cruise was... and the 5 things in which I was disappointed are.. As in life, if you show nothing but bad about anything, it appears prejudice.

Like you guys, we been on several different cruise lines. Our favorite, RC, we are diamond plus. But agree exactly what you state in this video. Different cruise lines and ships have lots of different things to offer. And like you, we have been in the Caribbean more times then we can count and we are starting to venture out to different parts of the world when it comes to cruising. I have had a wonderful time on Carnival. I am celiac and need a strict gluten free diet. Carnival has always gone above and beyond to make special things for me. Always yummy GF cake in buffet. Just got off an Alaska Princess cruise. They were not so accommodating. I was concerned a couple of times when a server didn't seem to know what "gluten free" meant.
The problem with Carnival is that they generally just sail around the North American continent so if you want to try other parts of the world you have to choose other cruise lines. At the time of writing this according to Cruise Mapper all but one of their ships are sailing on the American Continent.
Keep in mind that they own other brands.... (Princess, holland america, seabourn P&O australia and UIK... and a couple others) so.. tech... they are in other markets.
@@mandywalker3393 That's true including Cunard!! As an European cruiser I've never sailed on Carnival but I have sailed P&O Cruises (UK) but I am lead to believe the experiences between them are totally different.
Have you checked out Carnival’s cruise destinations? North America is not the only place they sail to. Hubby and I are taking a transpacific to Australia in September out of Seattle. 23 days no cooking, no cleaning YES,YES,YES! Personally we stick with place/ cruise lines that give us the most perks. Our gratuities will be our biggest expense (besides Casino).
Whole heartedly agree - It all depends on how and where you like to cruise and how much you love cruising. It's a very subjective and personal choice. For me Carnival can be a great cheaper way to go but I find I prefer the larger Carnival ships with longer itineraries versus the older smaller ones on shorter itineraries. Its a completely different vibe imo. But I have been on Panorama - MX Riviera AND LOVED IT! It was one of our last cruises before the pandemic hit. We celebrated New Year's 2020 on her and they really did it up. She is a gorgeous ship, great design with lots of space, a great crew, and the itinerary is a ton of fun (We had a blast on the Salsa and Salsa in Mazatlán and Tequila Tour in Puerto Vallarta shoreXs). We absolutely loved staying in the Havana area, seems way bigger than the newer class ships like Mardi Gras.

You will never get heat from me from any cruise line. A cruise is a cruise. We all know cruising is better than being and doing our every day life. Getting excited to try quantum of the seas to Alaska in three weeks. It would be my first time on Royal.
I totally agree! There is a cruise line or cruise lines for everyone! It doesn't mean one is better than the other, it's about what is better for YOU. Also, as we've been getting older, we've been less about excitement and more about quality dining and entertainment options instead. So, we've shifted from doing almost all Royal to more Celebrity and Princess. We've often gone with the good "deals" ourselves, which of course means the cruise line giving the good deal gets your repeat business, exactly as they intended! :)

I'm so dome with carnival after my free one on 2nd celebration sailing the food the conquest at the buffet was absolute garbage and thank God th celebration will have alternative food options I had to live off guys burgers on conquest

We probably won't cruise Royal Caribbean again because of the fiasco with protocols on our Alaska cruise. It was bad enough to completely turn us off that cruise line. I felt safer on a Carnival cruise.
So jealous you get to cruise so much! Though I’ve only sailed on Princess and NCL, I can honestly say I love Princess. During 2020-21, our time planned to travel, travel travel (d’oh!), 8 canceled cruises were on RC, Carnival, Holland, Regent and Princess. One’s perception equals one’s reality. Those who are seasoned cruisers will have a Like and Dislike list. No worries. All good. Each line has different price points and marketing strategies to appeal to different segments of the universe. Let’s compare it to cars. Lamborghini will not attract Yugo customers and vice-versa. Our first Carnival adventure will be at the end of the year on Glory. Cannot f**king wait! Just bought my NYE outfit (hopefully I don’t get fatter!). I’m expecting a different crowd than will be on an Oceania cruise we have scheduled late 2024. You mentioned a Trans Atlantic cruise. We’ll be doing that this October on Holland. Our first TA and first Holland. Though fiancée is world-traveled, this will be my first time to Europe. Thank you for an honest presentation. We were on the inaugural carnival Radiance. We did not care to much for the ship, the only exception being, Big Chicken and there awesome sandwiches. On the other hand we absolutely love the Carnival Panorama, it is so much nicer than the Radiance. So your lucky to be going on the Panorama instead of the Radiance.
Cruise on an Excel ship. It really raises the bar compared to the rest of the fleet. Mardi Gras out of Port Canaveral, Celebration out of Miami starting in November of 2022 and Jubilee out of Galveston starting in November of 2023.
The clientele on Carnival, in most of my sailings, has not been to my liking... However, I still sail when they send me a comp deal 😂 mama didn't raise a fool. I go where my comps take me. Royal sends me the most deals but Carnival stepped up post pandemic.
We love a comp cruise as well! We’ve had great interactions with most cruisers on all lines (minus a few during the pandemic who criticized us for wearing masks) so typically it’s the cost, itinerary and ship that matter most for us! 🥳
Strange to see you guys on dry land! I love NCL but that doesn't mean I expect everyone else too. Everyone has their favorite and that's fine. I wouldn't turn down a cruise on a different cruise line.
Everyone has a right to like or dislike a cruise line..I have been on over 30 cruises, I started cruising in 1991. I have cruised Carnival, NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Oceania and Regent. I am basically done with the Caribbean, been to every Island, did all of Mexico, Panama Canal, Alaska, Bermuda, I lived in Hawaii, so no need to go there..I also did New England and Canada, On my most recent cruise I did Italy and the Greek Isles which was one of the best cruises ever. I toured the entire UK by land...My next couple of cruises will be Norway and Galapalos one day the Antartic....I do not sail with Carnival anymore, more of a free for all kids cruise line...I am not into the roller coaster rides so I am done with NCL and Royal as well...I found that Celebrity Cruises is my go to cruise line...The food, Service and entertainment is top notch...hardly any kids on board if you don't cruise the Caribbean. I believe there was one child on board the Edge and it was a officers child..We also ONLY cruise in May or Sept when school is in session...Each cruise line goes after certain clientele, I find Celebrity to be much more adult like, much more chic....My first choice Celebrity, 2nd choice Oceania....
Completely agree! Likes and dislikes are okay and natural based on experiences. That said everyone’s experiences and likes are different so we hope there is less bashing and more of just being okay with not liking a cruiseline personally. You definitely have a wealth of experiences and some exciting new cruises yet to explore!! 🥳

So we have or had luggage tags but they are solely a blank slate that you can add your address onto with permanent marker so we don’t promote them much. I think there comes the realization one may actually age out of Carnival. I have nothing against Carnival but after experiencing Celebrity, Princess and Royal we've landed on both Princess and Celebrity as our favorite experiences for a variety of reasons.
Financial resources make a difference and sometimes that grows with age but sometimes it does not. We know plenty that had the same roadmap as you but also plenty that are older and love sailing Carnival! 🥳 As long as we all are cruising, we all are happy 😊
Have to fully agree. The only Carnival ships I'll sail on are the Excel Class. Otherwise, it's the newer builds on their competitors. Have 3 sailings booked on the NCL Prima.
We were on Carnival Radiance 2 weeks ago and have officially sworn off Carnival. Horrible customer service on board on shore side. I tired to give them a few tries, but have had nothing but issues with them so I am out.
So sorry to hear this! And of course, poor customer service for any cruise line should ultimately result in you as the customer going elsewhere. So we completely understand given your experiences!
We are subscribed....love your channel! When we are looking for our next cruise we find those that do not cater to children. All of the kids stuff is not for us. Otherwise we are open to different companies. So far for this year Celebrity twice and Princess one.
We have taken 31 cruises in the last 8 years! We took one cruise on Carnival ( Sunrise). That was our first and last Carnival cruise! The ship had just been out of drydock and we took it for a 14 day cruise. The ship was in terrible shape! The plumbing was faulty, the air conditioning in many areas of the ship did not work, the ship had rust in so many areas, the ship had leaks by the Lido deck! The crew had buckets around the Lido deck to catch the water! The ship was not clean… lack of hand sabine’s stations, lack of paper towels in bathrooms and lack of soap in bathrooms! We certainly will not cruise Carnival in this pandemic! We have taken cruises since restart oNNNCL and Celebrity and have been very happy. IMO. SAIL ON CELEBRITY AT YOUR own RISK!
We are sorry to hear you had such a bad time on Carnival! There is definitely a difference in price points between them all and that sometimes comes with different levels of service/updates but for many Carnival is their best cruise. That said, we love us some Celebrity as well! 🥳
Sorry I meant SAIL AT CARNIVAL at your own risk! I forgot to mention one last thing… Carnival draws a different crowd that the other cruise lines. They had a midnight buffet and the crowd acted like animals that never saw food before! There was a party in the atrium which has 3 levels. Someone threw a knife down near the stage from the upper level! Luckily no one was hurt. Security barely investigated! Do what you want but we would rather pay a bit more and cruise with NCL and Celebrity!
You sailed on a ship that was 20 years old. Don't you know about the saying "You get what you pay for". Cruise on the Mardi Gras or the Celebration once it comes out and see how your opinion of Carnival changes. And I've cruised on Carnival, NCL, RCI, Celebrity, Princess and MSC.
@@greggm6614 . We sail on an OLDER ncl ship out of NY and an older Celebrity ship out of Bayonne often. They are well maintained, unlike Carnival ships. The crowds they draw are quite a bit different than the crowds carnival draws
I saw the original video. It was specific to Carnival's lax attitude toward covid. However, they all have pretty much dropped the mask and social distancing rules. I cruise all the lines and would love to cruise the Panorama or the Celebration.

You will like the Panarama. It’s a real cool new ship. My wife and I did that itinerary in January 2020 ( right before the pandemic). Also, do have a meal in the restaurant that serve ramen noodles (can’t remember the name). We had lunch at the restaurant on the last day. If we had known how good it was, we would have eaten there several time throughout the trip. Overall, it’s one of Carnaval’s better ship.

Royal is my preferred cruise line but Ive sailed on Carnival 5 times. I was on the Panorama in Sept 2021. Beautiful ship.
To be honest I am not a fan of Carnival. My very first cruise was on the Carnival Legend in 2004, I just never felt the need to go back after cruising w/ NCL (my favorite) or RC. I want to try Disney and/or Virgin next.
We found an awesome deal on Carnival where we got a suite for less than a balcony on RC. You can bet we jumped on it. Being seniors, we don't know how much longer we can cruise so we are going to jump on it. We would love to try NCL and Celebrity as well. Our next cruise is Alaska in September on RC. I don't play favorites, but when we find a deal, we will jump on it. I am really glad we found you channel.

It is great to see cruise companies investing in cruising on the west coast. I have been on many of the cruise lines and now we mostly go on Royal. I have been on Holland America, Carnival, princess and Celebrity along with some cruise lines that don't exist any more. However, we have been talking about going on one of the edge class ships of Celebrity. Enjoy your west coast cruise! Hope you can take some time to enjoy my home town of Long Beach.

Great video! I totally agree with you. Each cruise has something different to offer. Just got off the Carnival Radiance and she was beautiful! I will suggest when cruising this summer to take extra Covid precautions. The ships are much fuller and more crowded, as I experienced on the May 30th sailing. I had managed to be Covid free through my last 2 cruises in September and March, but this time it got me and my 2 boys. Luckily we are all vaccinated and boosted, but it’s no fun that’s for sure. I tested positive 3 days after disembarking. I wish I would have worn a mask in the crowded areas. At least now I will be more immune if I go again. I’m looking forward to hearing when you plan on sailing the Panorama! I can drive there and meet up with you if the time is right. Take care!

I think you can have a favorite Cruise line and allow other people to have their favorite Cruise line without trying to rip apart their choice. People have different likes and dislikes. A family traveling with young children might not be happy with the same Cruise line as empty nesters who want a quieter atmosphere. Live and let live. I love all the cruise lines too.
Yes, we completely agree that it’s natural to have preferred cruise lines and be loyal to those lines for great perks! That said, belittling other lines or cruisers for liking other lines is where we find ourselves rather put-off and, honestly, okay with ending conversations with people onboard ships right then and there.

We have done 9 cruises with Princess and have decided to try different cruise lines starting with Carnival Panorama - Mexican Rivera in October. It says good things that all the cruise lines have their loyal cruisers. Means they do things well. I cruise across all the lines and have never had a bad cruise. For me I like the variety of changing things up . I do know to expect a different experience on each line.

tip... the panorama has a very unique food experience, particularly bonsai sushi. bonsai sushi has it's own menu that you won't find on any other ship and the food is AMAZING.

Great video! I would sail all of the cruise lines but at this point .. I am about just starting to get back to cruising/vacationing again and getting to the fun fast! Living in Texas, that's the Galveston Port and that means there are not many options for now (but new ones are coming soon)! I have only been on one cruise line and haven't had a bad experience yet (Carnival) and sticking to it to get reward status to one brand. But yes, when we are on a land vacation and mention cruising Carnival always gets put down and that we should sail Royal Caribbean. LOL! We just say .. it works for us and we love it so far. BTW so glad I found JJ Cruise. Going to costa maya soon and your video helped me a lot with deciding to stick around the port or going to a beach club. YAY!

I think if the other cruise line lowered their prices to match carnival, we would sail other cruise lines. Currently the other cruise lines are out of our price range. Ex: we are going on a 7 day carnival Vista cruise, a balcony for $800 (for 2 people) The other cruise lines are waaayyyyyyy higher

I primarily cruise Royal and Princess. I went on Carnival Freedom but, for me it was a bit too much of a Vegas party. The ship decor was loud and not relaxing or luxurious. However, the service was 👍 great. I would like to try Mardi Gra. It looks much different than Freedom.

Hi guys, I cruise on Carnival a lot due to their "casino" program perks. There MDR menu is the same on all ships, basic meals, lasagna, beef tenderloin, a very skinny prime rib, short ribs. No lobster or escargot on four and five nights, no white linen table cloths on the tables. unlike RCI. So if you are not there for better dining in the MDR, Carnival fits the bill for an economical and "fun" cruise. When my wife cruises with me, its always a RCI ship with a balcony; cruising solo, an interior or oceanview cabin is fine. The stateroom stewards and MDR wait staff are friendly and cordial.

My husband and I also will be on the Panorama (on the 03-Sept sailing) in a Havana Suite. We originally booked it for Sept 2020, but pushed it off till now due to COVID. We're looking forward to this new-ish ship and nice Havana hot tubs in our area of the ship! Will you both be booking a Havana room? It doesn't seem worth the cost on the Mardi Gras, but I think it's a good choice on the Panorama.
Negativity always creates animosity. Equality is key to amity. The way I have found to elude the haters are, (example)... the five things I liked about the cruise was... and the 5 things in which I was disappointed are.. As in life, if you show nothing but bad about anything, it appears prejudice.

Like you guys, we been on several different cruise lines. Our favorite, RC, we are diamond plus. But agree exactly what you state in this video. Different cruise lines and ships have lots of different things to offer. And like you, we have been in the Caribbean more times then we can count and we are starting to venture out to different parts of the world when it comes to cruising. I have had a wonderful time on Carnival. I am celiac and need a strict gluten free diet. Carnival has always gone above and beyond to make special things for me. Always yummy GF cake in buffet.
Just got off an Alaska Princess cruise. They were not so accommodating. I was concerned a couple of times when a server didn't seem to know what "gluten free" meant.
The problem with Carnival is that they generally just sail around the North American continent so if you want to try other parts of the world you have to choose other cruise lines. At the time of writing this according to Cruise Mapper all but one of their ships are sailing on the American Continent.
Very true! I know they are trying to branch out more but until they do, cruising the world on different lines makes sense 🥳
Keep in mind that they own other brands.... (Princess, holland america, seabourn P&O australia and UIK... and a couple others) so.. tech... they are in other markets.

Have you checked out Carnival’s cruise destinations? North America is not the only place they sail to.
Hubby and I are taking a transpacific to Australia in September out of Seattle. 23 days no cooking, no cleaning YES,YES,YES!
Personally we stick with place/ cruise lines that give us the most perks. Our gratuities will be our biggest expense (besides Casino).
Carnival have a season in Australia too so wouldn’t they do a repositioning cruise?
Whole heartedly agree - It all depends on how and where you like to cruise and how much you love cruising. It's a very subjective and personal choice. For me Carnival can be a great cheaper way to go but I find I prefer the larger Carnival ships with longer itineraries versus the older smaller ones on shorter itineraries. Its a completely different vibe imo.
But I have been on Panorama - MX Riviera AND LOVED IT! It was one of our last cruises before the pandemic hit. We celebrated New Year's 2020 on her and they really did it up. She is a gorgeous ship, great design with lots of space, a great crew, and the itinerary is a ton of fun (We had a blast on the Salsa and Salsa in Mazatlán and Tequila Tour in Puerto Vallarta shoreXs). We absolutely loved staying in the Havana area, seems way bigger than the newer class ships like Mardi Gras.

You will never get heat from me from any cruise line. A cruise is a cruise. We all know cruising is better than being and doing our every day life. Getting excited to try quantum of the seas to Alaska in three weeks. It would be my first time on Royal.

I totally agree! There is a cruise line or cruise lines for everyone! It doesn't mean one is better than the other, it's about what is better for YOU. Also, as we've been getting older, we've been less about excitement and more about quality dining and entertainment options instead. So, we've shifted from doing almost all Royal to more Celebrity and Princess. We've often gone with the good "deals" ourselves, which of course means the cruise line giving the good deal gets your repeat business, exactly as they intended! :)

We probably won't cruise Royal Caribbean again because of the fiasco with protocols on our Alaska cruise. It was bad enough to completely turn us off that cruise line.

Though I’ve only sailed on Princess and NCL, I can honestly say I love Princess. During 2020-21, our time planned to travel, travel travel (d’oh!), 8 canceled cruises were on RC, Carnival, Holland, Regent and Princess.
One’s perception equals one’s reality. Those who are seasoned cruisers will have a Like and Dislike list. No worries. All good. Each line has different price points and marketing strategies to appeal to different segments of the universe. Let’s compare it to cars. Lamborghini will not attract Yugo customers and vice-versa.
Our first Carnival adventure will be at the end of the year on Glory. Cannot f**king wait! Just bought my NYE outfit (hopefully I don’t get fatter!). I’m expecting a different crowd than will be on an Oceania cruise we have scheduled late 2024.
You mentioned a Trans Atlantic cruise. We’ll be doing that this October on Holland. Our first TA and first Holland. Though fiancée is world-traveled, this will be my first time to Europe.

We were on the inaugural carnival Radiance. We did not care to much for the ship, the only exception being, Big Chicken and there awesome sandwiches. On the other hand we absolutely love the Carnival Panorama, it is so much nicer than the Radiance. So your lucky to be going on the Panorama instead of the Radiance.

Cruise on an Excel ship. It really raises the bar compared to the rest of the fleet. Mardi Gras out of Port Canaveral, Celebration out of Miami starting in November of 2022 and Jubilee out of Galveston starting in November of 2023.
Gregg we will be going on an excel class of ship. The Celebration in January, so can’t wait.
The clientele on Carnival, in most of my sailings, has not been to my liking... However, I still sail when they send me a comp deal 😂 mama didn't raise a fool. I go where my comps take me. Royal sends me the most deals but Carnival stepped up post pandemic.
We love a comp cruise as well! We’ve had great interactions with most cruisers on all lines (minus a few during the pandemic who criticized us for wearing masks) so typically it’s the cost, itinerary and ship that matter most for us! 🥳

Everyone has a right to like or dislike a cruise line..I have been on over 30 cruises, I started cruising in 1991. I have cruised Carnival, NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Oceania and Regent. I am basically done with the Caribbean, been to every Island, did all of Mexico, Panama Canal, Alaska, Bermuda, I lived in Hawaii, so no need to go there..I also did New England and Canada, On my most recent cruise I did Italy and the Greek Isles which was one of the best cruises ever. I toured the entire UK by land...My next couple of cruises will be Norway and Galapalos one day the Antartic....I do not sail with Carnival anymore, more of a free for all kids cruise line...I am not into the roller coaster rides so I am done with NCL and Royal as well...I found that Celebrity Cruises is my go to cruise line...The food, Service and entertainment is top notch...hardly any kids on board if you don't cruise the Caribbean. I believe there was one child on board the Edge and it was a officers child..We also ONLY cruise in May or Sept when school is in session...Each cruise line goes after certain clientele, I find Celebrity to be much more adult like, much more chic....My first choice Celebrity, 2nd choice Oceania....
Completely agree! Likes and dislikes are okay and natural based on experiences. That said everyone’s experiences and likes are different so we hope there is less bashing and more of just being okay with not liking a cruiseline personally.

I think there comes the realization one may actually age out of Carnival. I have nothing against Carnival but after experiencing Celebrity, Princess and Royal we've landed on both Princess and Celebrity as our favorite experiences for a variety of reasons.
Financial resources make a difference and sometimes that grows with age but sometimes it does not.
We know plenty that had the same roadmap as you but also plenty that are older and love sailing Carnival! 🥳

Have to fully agree. The only Carnival ships I'll sail on are the Excel Class. Otherwise, it's the newer builds on their competitors. Have 3 sailings booked on the NCL Prima.
We were on Carnival Radiance 2 weeks ago and have officially sworn off Carnival. Horrible customer service on board on shore side. I tired to give them a few tries, but have had nothing but issues with them so I am out.
So sorry to hear this! And of course, poor customer service for any cruise line should ultimately result in you as the customer going elsewhere. So we completely understand given your experiences!

We have taken 31 cruises in the last 8 years! We took one cruise on Carnival ( Sunrise). That was our first and last Carnival cruise! The ship had just been out of drydock and we took it for a 14 day cruise. The ship was in terrible shape! The plumbing was faulty, the air conditioning in many areas of the ship did not work, the ship had rust in so many areas, the ship had leaks by the Lido deck! The crew had buckets around the Lido deck to catch the water! The ship was not clean… lack of hand sabine’s stations, lack of paper towels in bathrooms and lack of soap in bathrooms! We certainly will not cruise Carnival in this pandemic! We have taken cruises since restart oNNNCL and Celebrity and have been very happy. IMO. SAIL ON CELEBRITY AT YOUR own RISK!

There is definitely a difference in price points between them all and that sometimes comes with different levels of service/updates but for many Carnival is their best cruise.
That said, we love us some Celebrity as well! 🥳

Sorry I meant SAIL AT CARNIVAL at your own risk! I forgot to mention one last thing… Carnival draws a different crowd that the other cruise lines. They had a midnight buffet and the crowd acted like animals that never saw food before! There was a party in the atrium which has 3 levels. Someone threw a knife down near the stage from the upper level! Luckily no one was hurt. Security barely investigated! Do what you want but we would rather pay a bit more and cruise with NCL and Celebrity!
You sailed on a ship that was 20 years old. Don't you know about the saying "You get what you pay for". Cruise on the Mardi Gras or the Celebration once it comes out and see how your opinion of Carnival changes. And I've cruised on Carnival, NCL, RCI, Celebrity, Princess and MSC.
@@greggm6614 . We sail on an OLDER ncl ship out of NY and an older Celebrity ship out of Bayonne often. They are well maintained, unlike Carnival ships. The crowds they draw are quite a bit different than the crowds carnival draws
I saw the original video. It was specific to Carnival's lax attitude toward covid. However, they all have pretty much dropped the mask and social distancing rules. I cruise all the lines and would love to cruise the Panorama or the Celebration.
