This is my machine. As expected, it came back awesome! TNT has sold me 3 machines and refurbished this one. Their expertise is evident by the quality of their work. Thank you, Todd and crew!
A.....a WHITE WATER?????? Oooooooooooh can't wait for that! One of my wants for sure. As for this one, that's a sharp looking Cleopatra! Well done as usual guys! Oh, and that cheesy green screen was your best one yet Todd.
When you opened up the back, to access the boards..there's nothing there!!.Well almost. Amazing how things become miniaturized. Haven't seen the definitive Cleopatra, with Burton and Taylor. Must add that to the list. Another TNT hit, keep 'em coming Todd.
Fun demonstration. Ed Krynski was a great pinball designer and the clever scoring on Cleopatra is another example of his creative ability. Amazing that the EM version of the game accomplishes the same complex scoring as the solid state. I never liked the bloops and beeps of early solid state or video games and if this was my game I would put the chimes back in. Go Go Cleo. 🙂
I just picked up A Cleopatra for nothing from a game hoarder. He had to much work. I have had to replace all the terminal pins which were broken and replace the Battery on the CPU Board, which was damaged from the battery acid. I modified and installed all Board grounds and that 1 amp fuse for the small transformer that you suggested. I recharged all the display boards and they are bright as they were from the factory... I did a start up and unplugged all the boards. Cabinet Board tested good and the power supply as well. Checked the Voltage on the CPU Board which tested 5.1v and -12v which are also a go. I then tested all the coils (OHM Reading) which are also fine. I then hooked up the Display Boards one at a time and all light up. Then I hooked up the Driver Board and checked Voltage. Voltage is good. I then fired up my Cleo and it started the 5 second delay and booted up just fine. Then I try to start a game. It went Directly into Slam Switch Mode...I powered down and when I restart there is no 5 second delay. The displays light up immediately and have that slam switch flicker to them. I checked the slam switch, Tilt switch and the tilt relay. All check out fine... Is there something Im missing that would keep the game in Slam Switch mode? The paint on the Cabinet is completely peeling So I have had to strip all the paint. Ive primed the Cabinet, but I can't find info on what exact colors they used. What kind of paint and color is it. The playing field is also very flaky. How do I keep the paint from flaking off anymore than it has.
We now completely remove the slam switch circuit...a simple jumper on the back of the board jumps the slam wire that goes to the front door right to the ground. Try that and see if your issues go away.
Great machine I have a problem with mine the green drop target , blue lanes and all rubbers won't score anything you might know that might be the problem. Thanks From Australia Leo Spruch.
if some drop down again you may need to take apart the drop target bank and clean everything. its possible some of your drop targets need to be replaced. they are $3 each at marco specialties. for your rollover lane issues, clean the switches and make sure they close when the rollover is pushed down
Great video as always, someday I'll start repairing more pins. just got an 1959 Gottlieb Hi-Diver that is going to a good home for restoration. You guys work on them old wood rails?
B Dawg We could work on mechanical games...but I am the only one who has done them...all our other guys work on 1977 and newer. I really do not have time myself...they are very labor intensive!
Great Video! i've got a cleo i'm trying to fix. i defeated the slam switches, but after five seconds the scoreboards come on and player 2 and 4 show six fours and two back lights blink. The service switch, credit switch, and start button do nothing. weird.
bumgahdna Thanks! It sounds like you have logic board issues. But you should first put a new power supply in, so you know the logic board will get good steady voltages.
That is the most expensive movie made and did not do well at the box office. You just can't get any service when you need a drink. Maybe you for got to tip the server. :-)
Now, I know that I'm only 13, but that is not a good business practice if you ask me. I would always ask my customers before doing anything to anything that they didn't ask for. Just saying...
My take: someone that is so thorough when it comes to restoring machines like Todd and his team probably doesn't need permission to do much unless the owner specifies ahead of time not to do certain aspects which I have seen in previous videos but these people do amazing work and I buy his very valid reason for removing the piece.
Got to play this when i was a child in the 80's ... Good memories. 👍

Beautiful game man!
I don't know if I have seen them do to many EM style pins in fact this is the first I can recall. But cool machine.

Paul M Waiting for someone to order the Whitewater!!
You chose wisely, Todd, with the Indiana Jones cup! Beautiful work on that Cleopatra.

dvddmc Thanks!
Nice job on this one. Definitely better with chimes, but that first gen sound board brings back memories of the arcade :)

That green screen joke was actually pretty funny! :)
***** Glad we made you laugh!
All of his green screen jokes are funny, he is Todd Tuckey after all!

yes...the old fashioned chimes seems best for this game!

Cleopatra is a great game. I prefer the EM version. That machine turned out great!
Can you please provide a link to the Dosin connector part numbers you used?
Great machine I have a problem with mine the green drop target , blue lanes and all rubbers won't score anything you might know that might be the problem. Thanks From Australia Leo Spruch.
Oh and another problem I have is some times when the drop targets reset some drop down again.

I want that pinball.
Haven't had one since This one went out!
Todd, your so funny man, I love the green screen stuff you guys do, nice machine too :-)
Kris Rosk Glad I made you laugh!

Already replaced power supply. I agree, looks like I'll be picking up a ni wumph
Thanks!
You should do a "the making of a green screen gag" video
Mike Bradley its a good idea!
I love this movie. But Wallace you make this video.
Jen Pease Wallace will be in some upcoming videos!
Awesomeness insues. He is a pleasure to watch. Very talented sweet man.
How's Frank is he back soon?
hollow1 Frank is possibly due back tomorrow (Wednesday)...he is still not feeling well...and its been three weeks...

I'm hoping that you asked him before cutting out that metal part, as a lot of people like to keep things origanal.
Nope...never said a word to him...
Now, I know that I'm only 13, but that is not a good business practice if you ask me. I would always ask my customers before doing anything to anything that they didn't ask for. Just saying...
this man was simply thrilled with it...his comment is below!!
