This has to be one of the best faction wars EVER. Almost every single match was such a sweaty, knock-down, drag-out fight that it felt almost unfair. A normal tourney would maybe have one or two matches this good, but instead there were only one or two that weren't absolutely amazing.

One thing to notice in conquest is that there are more 'swing' moments where the (mis)fortunate of a player drastically alters the win probability. That can make it a bit more of an adrenaline rush for the viewer compared to dom, where these swing moments are less common and it's easier to predict the outcome of matches based on the points and what army there is remaining.
This tournament was crazy good! Can't wait to see more conquest tournaments. I love the lategame desperate scraps between the battered remnants of 2 armies
Just recently got TW3, absolutely love it. Played M2TW my whole life until now, such a fun game for me as I used to love going to games workshop to play LOTR, then when I realised everyone was playing warhammer I switched to warhammer and 40k. This game combines two of my favourite games I've ever played. This guy commentating, kudos fella! You do an amazing job. Absolutely loved this, despite not really knowing anything that was going on I sat and watched all 6 hours of it haha. I still really struggle with the campaign battles on medium difficulty, often have to auto-resolve. So I watch this to try and learn and give myself tips for my own gameplay. Is there a community or tournament for newbies trying to learn how to play battles? I'd love to take part in some of these domination games you talk about, I just have no understanding of other factions abilities, spells, strengths/weaknesses etc. I've only played as dwarves, khorne and grimgor so far. Would love to play online against people my own level so I can try and get towards these guys's level some day! Once again, incredible job on the commentary!
Regarding battles in TW you really need to focus on rock, paper , scissor. So look at what units are good vs and use this. Dont watch too much YT videos of people playing legendary difficulty campaigns as they learn you how to cheese which only kills the fun imo
@Turin Highly recommend testing out damage reflection with Nurgle! I usually cast curse of the leper or use the Chaos Lord of Nurgle's ability on them right before they get charged by light cav and they usually trade very well into it. Also pretty unexpected from the opponent.
Would you do more tournaments in this game mode? Domination is fun, but sometimes it starts to feel like players just throwing troops at each other, love the more dynamic games.
in the Counts vs Tomb Kings match I can only assume it was the combined health and freshness of the spearmen that weren't fighting in the last minute the kept their moral high enough to prevent mass crumbling from causing army losses
Really great pairings. I feel like elves always play on handicap tho, except for fire larry bowborn build. Like that cav wait 3 warhammers to get armour piercing ffs...
"It's not French, it's Wood Elves" If anything, Wood Elves are a subtle (by Warhammer standards) stand-in for the Swiss: small isolationist nation with the French on one side and Germans on the other, protecting their borders and not getting involved beyond that.

So, for someone who doesn't play competitive, here's a question: (SPOILERS) How can Cathay be up in value by over 1200 but the balance of power is 80% in favour of the Skaven? Surely it should be in favour of the faction which has done more damage? Did Cathay just start with a 3000 value deficit or something? Does the value counter not reflect the DoT damage the globadiers (OP pls nerf) do?
did they change the sepulchal stalkers in the new world? Turin says they are terrible, but I felt like their initiative dmg from old fantasy was great against certain factions like Dwarfs or Lizardmen.
Domination might be the sweaty, e-sport, like pvp mode. But landbattles will always be, imo, THE TWWH spectacle! They are always just actiined packed and this faction war did not disappointment!
Hello Turin, I really like your content and this tournament was great! Only downside is that anything above 480p had loading problem and I do have very good internet. Not sure why that is happening.
@@turinRTS I do have options to switch it higher resolution, but it was not stable and auto option would switch it to 480p. Though it might do something with AD blocker, so I tested it again and it is working properly now. Runs on 1080p with any issues. Not sure if anything changed in the meantime, but I suspect witchcraft! Tested 1440p as well, runs smoothly.

Routing units and healing do exactly that. Access to magic while the other does not also do that.
