The player that made this young kid in Namibia fall in love with Liverpool. Remember coming to the UK for 9 months in 1996 on a gap year prior to university and being amazed by him and Nedved in Euro 96 and then watching him at Liverpool. Went to Uni in Australia and home to work for a couple of years before sorting out my ancestry visa and immigrating here in time to see his final six months at the club. Just all round solid player and person.
Thank you for that comment and thank you for all that dedicated support. YNWA
Idol of mine as a lad. Left footed like me & loved a shot from range. Goals V’s the Ev & the mancs, that free kick at Old Trafford! Hat trick goal at the Kop end V’s Chelsea & a member of the treble winning squad. The first team I really fell in love with.
Always remember the commentary from his long range goal away at Derby..
“That’s er, Barmby’s dummy… Berger… WOW!”
😍
Thank you. It was great to do this video and talk about those goals you mentioned. Appreciate your support.
Legend 🔥👏
My favorite ❤❤. Legend.

Such a charismatic and intelligent player! I still have that 99/00 home kit with your name. Thank you for all the great moments! 🙏🏻
Had his name on my shirt. From 98 to his ACL he was one of the best midfielders around
Class act Paddy !!

Thank you so much for making us dream !
Thank you for your support. It was a dream to play for Liverpool.
I got into football only in 2001-02, so late into your time at Liverpool. At the time I had little more than an abstract understanding of how badly injuries affected a pro footballer's career; it kinda just crossed my mind, seeing back all those amazing highlights and thinking "How does such an amazingly good footballer play so little?". Despite not getting to see very much of you, you fast became one of my favourite players (I didn't, and still don't, support any one team, instead I look at players), esp when you moved to Portsmouth, got to play a little more and scored what is still one of my absolute favourite goals of all time (the spinning volley vs Charlton).
Fast forward to 2019 and I busted my ACL and meniscus, then eight months into rehab the meniscus re-tore and needed a second surgery which, because of Covid and it being a non-vital surgery, took another year to happen, and throughout that time I found myself looking at all these players I knew who had terrible or serial injuries- Ronaldo, Ledley King, Roberto Baggio, Djibril Cisse, yourself, Hector Bellerin did his ACL around the same time, seeing how they would keep coming back to do what they do, and it helped me focus on getting it right and getting back on the pitch again. Obviously I'm not playing anywhere near the level of a pro, but football has always been important to me and getting that focus was necessary. I'm pretty sure I said to myself at least once "If Patrik Berger could keep coming back and hitting it the way he did, it should be possible for me to achieve even a fraction of that".
So thank you Patrik for being an inspiration. You deserve to be remembered much more fondly and much more than association with the at-times-great-but-often-messy Evans and Houllier years. It was a real shame how much injuries got in the way of having even more of a career and, having heard how much they have affected many players in post-playing life, esp recurrent knee injuries, I sincerely hope that you are okay, not suffering long-term effects and able to do everything you want to.
Thank you for your incredible message. I am sorry to hear about your injury but I'm pleased you recovered! Injuries are an unfortunate part of footballing life. But it's how we recover from them that makes the next chapter a positive one. It is great to hear you are still playing the game after such a bad injury. Thank you for supporting me, I really appreciate it and thanks for watching my video.

Thanks for watching!
Outstanding tribute video to Patrik Berger with the Reds! Some of these LFC goals I’m seeing for the first time, but most of them are classics I never get tired of watching. I’ve always been a huge fan, Paddy, and you truly deserve a video like this. It really brings back the good old days.
I was always hoping you’d make a comeback to Liverpool in the late 2000s because of your stellar performances with other clubs. Your partnerships with Fowler, McManaman, Smicer, Redknapp, Bjørnebye, Owen, and many others were a joy to watch, especially with the Mighty Reds!
You were extraordinary and well-known for your fabulous left foot, but you were also skilled with your right foot, even though it was your weaker side. You scored some beautiful goals with your right foot as well, which is impressive considering your reputation for your famous left foot.
I have a couple of questions for you: Did you like the song about your nickname “the ox”? You know, the one with the lyrics: “He's got long hair and he's strong as an ox, And he scores great goals from the edge of the box, His name is Berger, Whoa whoa Patrik Berger!” My second question is, would you have liked to come back to Liverpool? I was always hoping for that, even though it seemed unrealistic at the time.
Other questions about your career at LFC: What was your relationship with Vladi Smicer like? Would you have liked to continue/extend your contract at LFC and win the Champions League in 2005 with Liverpool? Did you ever regret leaving, or did you feel it was the right time to move on?
I also liked a lot your insights into your goals and big moments with LFC. A good idea for your next video would be to do a Q&A, so we fans can ask as many questions as we want about your career. What do you think?
As for the video, great work! I would have loved to see more of your best assists with Liverpool in the same video (I think we only saw one of your best assists to John Barnes). Your famous assists, like the one in the FA Cup final, deserve some spotlight too. Also, it would’ve been great to hear more commentary and the crowd’s atmosphere during your goals and celebrations. The energy and excitement from those moments, like your stunning goals against Leeds and Man United, are unforgettable. And a longer version of your celebrations in the red jersey would be awesome too.
There were also some funny moments during your time at LFC, especially at the beginning with Jason McAteer joking about you not understanding Scouse and needing to learn the language. You should share that great footage as well haha.
Thank you for this great video! Keep it up. YNWA Patrik.
Your biggest fan in Tunisia, Paddy mate.

Hi Rochdi. I'm Jay (producer of the video)
Thank you for such an amazing comment! It is great to read your support for Patrik.
I just wanted to reply to some of your ideas.
- We actually did a RUclips short about his pass to Michael in the FA Cup final, that is here right now on the channel. You will be able to watch Patrik comment on that pass and what he thought of it 😂
- Regarding more assists footage, it's a good idea and I will certainly take a look at it and see if we can do it. 👍
- As to the 'more commentary and crowd atmosphere', I completely agree with you here and we would have liked to my friend, but we have to stick to copyright laws and image rights regarding some audio of footage and image rights of others.
- We are currently working on a Q & A video, which will be announced soon on Patrik's socials, but as you have asked a couple here, we will make sure those are asked to Patrik and you get a mention in the video! 🤘
We've got so much planned for the channel and please keep these comments and ideas coming Rochdi 👏
You’ll Never Walk Alone ❤

As someone that grew up with being a Liverpool fan in the early 90's and seeing players like McManaman, Fowler, Berger, Smicer, Owen and all the others, I'm honestly feeling kinda blessed being the age I am. Sure, we didn't win all we could past the 90's, but there was a lot of players that I loved watching during this time.
I reallty LOVE the team we have now. I especially like players like Dominik, Mac and Gravenberch. All of which will hopefully be a part of our future. Will be really interesting to see what this team will bring.
Though I really miss you Patrik!
Do you wish you'd stayed at Liverpool
One of my favourite players as a kid. Hope he’s doing well
I am doing very well thank you! Thanks for your support.
