  • A new report says multiple workplace safety violations contributed to the death of a wildfire fighter near Revelstoke last year. In July 2023, 19-year-old Devyn Gale was killed by a falling tree while fighting a fire in the area. Jack Morse has more.

    Ive fought forest fires and structure fires. Ive fell burning trees on fire lines. Its a dangerous job. Next thing will be no ground crews...to dangerous. A fire chief said to me, a few years back, WorkSafe is going to put us out of business. Its sad what happened but its the risk you take when working in a high risk enviroment.
