The English and the Americans tradition of character actors that are not beauties but still have star quality and bring so much to their roles. This is not a contining tradition either in film or the music industry where a conventional pretty appearance is all that is needed.
Thank you very much for featuring the life story of Margaret rutherford she 2as the best miss Marple ever thank you to the narrator for posting this video rip 🙏 🪦 😌
I don’t really have a problem with Rutherford’s Marple, I think she was great casting, but the filmmakers decided to make these adaptations light-hearted “romps” and Rutherford played to that accordingly. If you watch the films more closely you’ll see she actually plays a lot of it straight and has some nice quirks and mannerisms that fit fine with Christie’s vision. Had the producers taken a more serious approach I’m sure MR would have toned down the more comedic elements and given us a more definitive take on the role. I still watch these if they pop up on tv, they’re good for a rainy Sunday afternoon and I absolutely love the theme music for MR’s films.

Inspiring! thank you 💖
yeah, it's a story that sometimes good things happen when you live for quite a while already (despite the popular idea that "if not now, then never")

Her last movie was Arabella 1967/68 not countess of Hong Kong.
You didn’t mention dawn Langley Simmons?
I didn't find much of Margaret's own statements/recollections about her(him), so decided to concentrate on her personal career
Joan Hickson was one of the best Miss Marples.
video about her is about to be uploaded!
Too dry. I prefer Rutherford
Joan Hickson is true to the books.
