Thanks for your reaction, Henning! I have seen the documentation on the day of its release. And I was completely stunned. A very personal view of Hans Thomann. Really impressive, what he has achieved. Great person.
I enjoyed the video about Thomann. Thank you for making it. I recently purchased a Taylor guitar and they distributed to UK, so I was concerned, but I have nothing bad to say about the experience. The B-stock guitar was genuinely a B-stock, which I understand to be with some minor imperfections, but still carries Thomann's 3 year warranty. The process of purchasing and receiving the guitar was so stress free, and Thomann were extremely helpful when I called for advice before purchasing. A+++, amazing considering UK exited Europe which must have made business between Germany and UK logistically more difficult. I am a 100% happy Thomann customer, and still have 20 left of the 30 day guarantee to try the guitar and return it if I wish. Thank you Thomann
I really enjoy more this kind of videos from you. I'm an old subscriber so I watched A LOT of your stuff and now is very interesting and enjoyable to...see a little more of YOU. It's a very nice surprise. Thanks, mate. As always, very good job.
The dubbing makes it sound like a commercial not a documentary 😎 in Denmark we have always had subtitles, which improved my English drastically, because you always listen as well. Today I can watch 30-40 minutes of a movie, before I realize the subtitles is missing 😂
What I really like about this docu is that when someone's name is on the screen for a second time, they have a different title/description. A small touch, but it goes a long way, people are not just one thing, brilliant.
I got 08 my Harley Benton SG style starter guitar. Bein 15 for a few weeks 🤘🤘 super starter Guitar Not fully thought through construction wise at the time (probably bc Gibsons trademark) always tangle my hand into the lower horn when try to shred. But what beginner is shredding above the 12. Fret 😂 nah in hind sight this was a super great guitar to start. And with a set up I still play it on the couch some days 🥰 Started with bass as I started to do records in 2019 and decided I’m goin to play a Harley Benton BZ-5000 because of my starter guitar being that good. Decided based on a review of Henning by the way, Thanks Henning 🎉🤘
I think a *little* bit more editing on the background music might have been a solid idea, BUT this was a cool video, smartly patterned off of the RT/Jazeera model and one that belies the love of quality at which Thomann operates, and it was cool to get your thoughts on the different points of the video As an aside, and since everyone else has been mentioning it, your reaction to Wilfer made me appreciate how easy-going and sweet Nik Huber is, and that I've never heard a bad word about him
Watched it now the 2nd time (1st time was on Thomann channel)! Absolute great documenatry! Maybe I will watch it also in english - just to see how they did the doubling...
Beautiful documentary. And I just watched the German version with the RUclips English subtitles. As a Dutch person I can understand German, but the subtitles help. 😅
It does work best in German and not the English dubbing like an episode of Heidi. You're right about the background music too. Its like the music in a documentary about alien abduction.
I do agree with how there is "data loss" when films get dubbed. Aber ich habe vergessen alles. If the video remained in German, much would have gone way over my head, and many others. This reminds me of an interview between Ola Englund and Ola Strandberg, when both could have just continued in Swedish but instead both spoke in English for the audience. Does that count as playing to the crowd? Ich weise nicht.
Couldn’t agree more regarding dubbing it completely ruins the original. Can’t see the problem with subtitles. Audio description is another matter entirely.
he has been a rather controversial figure ever since the moved to Markneukirchen in former east germany right beside the czech border and reestablished the company there. It's a region with centuries of musical instrument manifacturing tradition and there were a lot of well trained craftsmen there after reuinification who - from what the press wrote in the 90s - felt underpaid, underappreciated and basically taken advantage off by the west german boss.
As a lifelong (some 40 years now) Anime fan, I can categorically say, I f***ing HATE dubbed. I refuse to watch any dubbed anime, it literally destroys the 'Japaneseness' of the medium. Subtitles all the way.
I am impressed by everything Thomann, but I can not imagine why he expands in Germany. Why all his logistics all his service teams are still located in Germany. He could be in Czech Republic within a 1 hour drive or something, having the administration in Germany, the expensive buildings in Czech Republic. I am not complaining, not at all, but I am scratching my head.
Thanks Henning, but I'm going to watch the English VO version. I'd rather focus on the video, as opposed to predominantly reading the subtitles throughout the entire docu.
What's with dubbing recently, it's absolutely terrible, you're 100% right on that, Henning. Just recently I'm getting YT videos dubbed into my mother tongue for some weird reason. I don't even know if it's AI generated or actually manually dubbed.
As an avid movie watcher, I have to say, these days music ruin everything* in movies. I mean, listen to all of those stingers they insert for no reason. You don't have to punctuate every... single.... statement.... with a stinger. If it was a computer game I would have turned the music off a long time ago. 🙂 (* of course it doesn't ruin _everything_, but you know what I mean)

One of the rare few that's so honest about reviews and demos', we need more like him.
You are right. It works best in German. THANX for todays Post it was both informative and entertaining.😇
Spot on with regards to sometimes doing certain things for parents, regardless of whether they’re still around or not. It’s hard not to.

Thomann is probably the only large company that I have respect for, especially their customer service which is becoming a thing of the past elsewhere.
and from what I hear from people from Bamberg they are a good employer - which is a even bigger plus in my book.

Thomann Docu looks like it's made in the style of RT Docu's which are amazing. I wouldn't slam it too hard Henning as it's a freetainment release...
14:35 Can somebody explain why Warwick's founder shouldn't be in the video? I'm obviously missing some context here.
It's a looong story, but I had my issues with the man.
C'mon, who cares about Warwick?

Fair point with the business spending, but I have massive respect for them for keeping their iobs in Germany.
I missed the reason behind the beef with Warwick 🤔
Long story

I prefer watching in the original language with English subtitles :)
I watched the german, coz I can. The english version sounded stiff
Native voices, subtitles for non. 👍🏽

I enjoyed it, even if it looked like a giant trailer. Too much background music. Storytelling lacks cohesiveness
ich verstehe eines nicht, du bist deutscher, warum sprichst t du nicht deutsch?? nur so eine frage halt

It is also dubbed in Italian 😁
I love you Henning but I don’t wish to read Subtitles for 25minites. However I do get what you’re doing and I respect the reasoning behind it.
Bloody hell that 'background' music is irritating. Distracting, inappropriate and completely unnecessary in a lot of places.

It is actually very honest and real. I was pretty impressed.
