A great movie with a stellar cast. As usual Christopher Walken owns every scene he is in. Fun fact: The real Abagnale made a cameo in this movie, playing a French police officer taking Dicaprio into custody.
There was a TV series that ran for several seasons based around this story called White Collar. A young and very talented forger/con man gets arrested and then is released into the custody of the FBI agent who caught him to help solve similar crimes. It was a truly amazing show I'd highly recommend!
😎👍 In the early 2000s, Steven Spielberg was on a major roll: "A.I." (2001), "Minority Report" (2002), "The Terminal" (2004) and "War Of The Worlds" (2005) are all films that everyone should see. 😄 You kept mentioning how "young" Leonardo DiCaprio is in this film and now I can't wait to see your reaction to "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" (1993). 😉
The two best actors of all time in my opinion. The dream team. I heard rumours the movie was made up nonsense but it's still a beautiful masterpiece ♥️
Such a great movie. Had the right amount of humor but still was serious (and based off a true story). One of my favorites of all time. Great reaction, Emma!
Early Di Caprio: WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE. 30 years of working with learning disabled adults and no one has ever been better playing learning disabled adult who wasn't a downs actor. Period. It's an AMAZING performance.
While the movie is great with great acting, we now know that Frank Abegnale? was lying about 90% of the exploits he claimed. Once a con man always a con man.
I'm not a big DiCaprio fan, but he did a good job in this movie. Hanks is typically good. But it's beyond laughable that a complete novice could study for the Bar Exam for two weeks and pass. Law school graduates commonly study for months. Yet overall, a very good movie. It was better than Titanic in my view, which was way overdone. Release the trolls.
You mentioned that they don't care about the prisoners. In France, if one is accused and arrested, they are guilty by default. One has to prove their innocence in the French legal system.
The opening graphics are great! A couple of other movies with great opening graphics: Monsters Inc. (Pixar) and City Slickers (comedy)…both have Billy Crystal.
He watches Perry Mason tv series to learn to be a lawyer. The actor (Raymond Burr) playing Perry Mason was the man who killed his wife in the Hitchcock movie Rear Window.
An interesting fact is, the Montrichard exterior scene was filmed in the old Québec city. Big studios often come to Montréal (for many American (like Boston, Buffalo, Cincinnati) and European cities filming) and Québec city (mainly French cities filming without crossing the Atlantic, plus the city is walled). Many studios come here because of currency exchange and lower cost due to proximity and we have filming studios on Montréal south shore (X-Men were filmed there). The more you know ;) !
Emma, Frank Abagnale was on Johnny Carson’s TV show many years ago. “The Tonight Show staring Johnny Carson” - Johnny was a very famous talk show host, in case you don’t know. That amazing interview is on RUclips. You can look this interview up and be fascinated just like Johnny and his other guests were. -Thomas
I've always really enjoyed this movie and this was the movie where I started appreciating and liking Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor. Previously, I found him to be rather mediocre in the movies I saw him in, and felt he was hired for being 'pretty', plus like everyone girl I grew up with was obsessed with him, so it was also a case of many classmates constantly gushing about him, which I didn't understand. I haven't seen all of his movies from before this, either then, or since, but I distinctly remember this being the first movie I saw where I was impressed and thought he gave a good performance, and have become a fan of his acting since then. Really enjoyed your reaction and comments!
If/when you review another holiday movie please consider Joyeux Noel, an Academy Award nomination from 2005. It's based on the unathorized spontaneous Christmas Eve truce between enemy soldiers in 1914 World War 1.
Another great reaction, Emma (Reminder: "The Red Violin," "The Last Emperor," "Empire of the Sun"). For an interview with the real Frank Abigale, RUclips search: "Frank Abagnale Stuns Everyone With Stories of Being a Con Man | Carson Tonight Show." (RUclips won't let me post the RUclips link).
Not so fun fact, it recently came to light that this movie is entirely fiction. The real Abnagle, sorry I spelled that wrong, made it all up. He is such a con man he fooled Hollywood
Hollywood films are rarely "real." They dramatize stories... there is very little reality in most of their product, so it fits right in. The film is entertaining... what more do you want?
@@vernmeyerotto255 This is a true story. Of course some of it has been exaggerated.?No true story is 100% accurate A Beautiful Mind- great example. Real people. Changed story completely to make it more endearing and hopeful
@brettgoucher8783 Actually, you should look it up. Abignale fabricated the entire thing according to all sources except himself. He's a con artist, and has a good imagination. It is, however, a good story.
@@vernmeyerotto255 The FBI agent Joseph Shea and Frank became good friends. He never came out saying it was all BS. And I just read 5 articles about film. Some parts as I said were exaggerated. Frank was real con man. Shea was real FBI agent trying to catch him. As as I can find, not Untrue as you described
Based on amazing true story. Great book too. Good film but is amazing because of the TRUE part. Emma, I am going to keep trying. Watch great thriller Eastern Promises. I love good twists and I sure didn’t see this coming
The fact that this guy is actually real, and this is what caused him to do this and shut down the airline company is kind of funny when you think about it

For more Christopher Walken : The Dead Zone
Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams!
I enjoyed your movie review, Emma! 👍
Thank you 🤗

It's pretty bizarre when Tom Hanks is in a film and doesn't feel like the "star." The mental duel between him and DiCaprio is brilliant and beautiful.
Does Tom Hanks cry in this Movie,,? He usually does
I love when Tom Hanks plays a roll that's unusual for him. Another great one he did was Road to Perdition
It was a great movie very underrated
This is a very underrated Tom Hanks movie, try Road to Perdition
The James Bond movie they showed a clip from was Goldfinger. It's from the early 60s and well worth watching.
Emma's smile is so cute.
😜😜😜
The music is one of the stars of this movie. So whimsical and suspenseful. Just perfecto.
One of the best Leonardo Dicaprio movies! Great job on the reaction

Nice to Join the Lovely Emma!
🥹😉 It's great to see you here!!!!
The Mom is played by Nathalie Baye, high tier actress, winner of 4 Cesars.
Great reaction Emma to a spielbierg classic. Very fun movie, Cant believe this movie is over 20 years old now

Agree. He was superb in that role.
I’m pretty sure we got played that it’s a true story. Watch his interview on Johnny Carson show. So rehearsed. 😂
This movie is great. The suspense is intense, and the acting is amazing. The music is also great.

Steven Spielberg Is The Best 💯,A Great Director
Good review, Emma! May I suggest "The Talented Mr Ripley" for a reaction video?
For Tom Hanks films I really enjoyed The Da Vinci Code but I haven't really seen anyone react to it so maybe I'm in a minority.
what a story! 😆 really enjoyed your reaction! ☺👍
wow emma lovve the reaction so much
You mentioned that they don't care about the prisoners. In France, if one is accused and arrested, they are guilty by default. One has to prove their innocence in the French legal system.
Good morning Emma, this is a brilliant movie, thanks again and enjoy your day God bless ✝️"🇨🇦 🎉🎉

Best knock-knock joke, hands down.
Christopher Walkens was amazing in his performance too.

My favorite part is the failed arrest at the motel. 😮

Jet Pilots were like rock stars in the 1960's
After tons of fact checking, Frank has since been proven to have made most of this up, but it's still a good movie
Emma is so gorgeous. My goodness.
Hi Sunshine. :) The Quick and the Dead is another great early Leonardo movie. ;) wink.
The greatest con is that the guy who wrote the book made it all up.
you need to put "the Big Lebowski" on your list of movies to watch. it's hilarious.
Thanks Emma
Basketball diaries next
Crazy that both of these "stars" will be soon be arrested and spend the rest of their lives in prison.
Great movie, great reaction. To see Di Caprio at his absolute best, take a look at 'The Aviator'. ; )
Amazing film even more amazing is that it’s a true story with real people haha
The book was much, much, better.
The movie is much much quicker and just as enjoyable.
@@colejarvis666 To each their own. But, after reading the book I was disappointed in the movie.

lol, I'm an ex airline captain so some of this is especially funny. I'm 6'5 btw and looked really good in my uniform ; )
I suggest you a similar movie, "Stander" from 2003, also based on a true story. Completely unknown, but hilarious like this one.

He just wanted a family
