With morfonica and michu being my current main decks. Im glad to see these decks have ways to confidently fight the doji matchup. Both can swing hard but have very different ways to challenge doji Morfonica can keep soamming the g2 song which lets morfonica rear guards not be chosen, and main g3 has glendios redirect so the lethal massive power or crit rg can be mitigated with just one card. And cuz of the g3 song forcing 2 cards per guard from main g3 its a good way to wittle out the hand while forcing a piece or 2 to come out. Combined with a foolish burial rg thats a free deck shuffle and choice mill, a rg that can revive, a rg that gives 5k unconditinally on turn to the whole band and another rg swinger that gets 5k per get trigger or main g3 swing its not too bad for morfonica. Michu is a similiar idea but instead of defense, its aggression. Adding tot he fact new michu retires one upon ACT now with stunning/no intercept with g2 order is making the doji player choose some weird guard sequences. Add to the fact noqno g1 becomes the vanguard and mostly 38k consistently, she'll turn off special trigger cards so its all vanilla guards and pgs for her swing and the last 2. Then g2 noqno has also a drive check so its 2 drives 1 attack, 1, then 1 But all of is at insanely high power and the rgs got controlled in some way. So even if they survive if the michu player even has a decent hand, the advantage was dealt and now the doji player is forced to recover and either try to turtle another 100k total power turn with 4 drives or just kill. Srry for the wall of text but thanks for the vid. Though I never faced it yet and can only speculate Im at least more aware as to why the doji seems so cancer for most ppl.
I would say Ladder and Twincast does help to play against Shojo (speak from experience here). Being able to deny their control to an extent helps since Ladder prevent your RGs from being moved to anywhere else even if Shojo target circle while Twin cast is 2 guards. Great vid 👍
I appreciate this video a lot. A lot of people are freaking out over the Doji hype, but when you really practice against this deck you’ll see that it’s strong but by no means unbeatable.
Rush them down. Swing big numbers. Play a deck that can call a board for free. Their rearguards don't swing for a lot. The only decent rearguard is musician which is a 20k most of the time until their turn 5 when it becomes a 30k attacker.
I tried the cb denial strat using prison and only gave em 2 cb (on my g1 and g2 turns) and it was great, I went full offensive once I reached purelight's 2 crit front row
Prison is one of the decks where CB denial is a very very viable strategy almost everytime. Also they need their G1 to multi attack, if u imprison it, they are screwed.
Don't give them a damage until grade 3 if going second. If you go first give them a CB on grade 2 when you have already reached g3 and have the advantage already Reason is Izazou becomes useless and if they do go first and you gave them no CB. They can't Ojushigi which means you get your cards back. That means you can abuse your on place abilities. If you deny them CB early on, you can potentially handrip them with aggro. Same goes for the mirror just don't deal them a damage til you reach grade 3 if going second. Yes,you lose a drive check. The advantage is far greater then the extra card in hand and sinxe they have to call something off their g2, swinging at their rears is even better I own the deck and the amount of times my opponent has given me a CB on grade 2 is ridiculous. It's a literal snowball effect. Thanks for the free advantage. Play smart, Vanguard isn't a game all about I deal damage brrrrr. You gotta play mind games. Know your match up don't just swing just to swing. READ.
Makes sense. Going second. G1 turn you ride pass. Now they ride G2, they can either call no RGs and only swing Van (you can 15k OT to pass) or they call down rears to rush and you just swing at the rears next turn. Then their G3 turn, they have no CB, bind ur hand and bind no RGs, you can ur cards back.
