interesting how the mod's creator fleshed out the story of the 1st Wolfenstein games, for example with BJ having the title of Lieutenant, and after his feats of arms in Spear of Destiny, he became Captain, the link that the scientists of the 3rd Reich have with Doctor Schabbs, it's like a kind of remake that doesn't just make the gameplay more complete and interactive
@robowisanveithasung6022 don't pretend please. you know in YT it's getting harder and harder to believe someone in their comments. but one day i will play this game and see if you have the same name in credits. in any case the attention to the lore and scenario is a very good surprise
I love the absurdity of the violence. A single shot from an M1 Garand or Gewher 43 can gib weaker enemies. It's unrealistic AF, but damn is it satisfying to watch.
One nice touch I do appreciate is how the only demons who appear are ones without advanced weaponry or cybernetic enhancements, as those wouldn't have been invented in 1942. So no Revenants, Mancubi, Arachnotrons or Spider Masterminds, and of course no former humans since there's been no invasion of our realm yet. Only demons who can get by with magic or melee appear.
Yeah, clever eye there. BJ could've easily have travelled to the future at the same time of being teleported to Hell, but nope, they kept it strictly organic demons. And making the final boss an organic (Cyber)demon as a nod to Wolfenstein RPG is the icing on the cake. Certainly beats having to battle a hunched-over red demon with Nazi Ghosts in a maze. Speaking of the future...it'd be cool to see Spear of Destiny's expansions remade in Brutal Wolfenstein - the final boss in those, or at least one of the expansions, does have BJ get sent to the future in some UAC facility instead of Hell, which is pretty neat.
If the mod-makers had the inclination, it would've been nice to see melee-only revenants and tortured Nazis on poles instead of DOOM marines (as well as the deleted treasures from early DOOM versions for some sort of Easter Egg type bonus) But yeah, the pre-tech Hell was fantastic. This mod was so well done
@@SegaMario Zio clarified that he will not be making the other Spear of Destiny Expansions (Retum to Denger and Ultimate Challenge) because they did not seem interesting, but he did reuse the textures from said expansions, or lost episodes for Spear of Destiny. For my part, I asked for him to include the original levels from version 5.0 (or 4.5 rather) for the final version as an alternative, but he did not do so.
@@sasukeelemouchija4564 Yeah, I didn't think so. Guy's done enough remaking two whole games as it is, reimagining some of the levels' designs to take better advantage of the Doom engine's possibilities over what Wolfenstein 3D/Spear of Destiny was only capable at achieving.
2:22:47 what is the point if such bosses? I had no problem with previous ones but this is one is unplayable :( EDIT: I did it :D It seems you have to use slide like crazy to win....
Grab yourself a copy of ZDL, GZDoom and Doom 2 (GOG should have it). After installing ZDL and GZDoom, go into ZDL's setup and point it to where your Doom 2 wad file and GZDoom's exe are. After that, all that's needed is to download Brutal Wolfenstein (ModDB has it) and tell ZDL to use it and you're golden. The initial process sounds like a bit of faff, but it only needs to be done once and you can load any GZDoom mod that way once you're set up.
Strange, it looks fine to me. Maybe try watching the video at 1080p or better? Joking aside, I suppose it's a matter of preference. I just went with the settings that were already on when I downloaded the mod.

i'm the credited Agent Smiley Seven "Lore Writer". i really do appreciate Zio for letting me write about the story of this mod

18:17 what is this, the paris Olympics?
Really fucking good comment
How do I get this and Brutal Wofenstein 3D, I grew up with Wolfenstein 3D in the 90's and at 39 years old now . I still love Wolfenstein 3D.
Need a gzdoom sorce port, DOOM 2 wad, brutal wolfenstein 3d mod (you can find it on moddb)
I was wondering why this game is so hard, half of it is secrets!
If you really love tap on a walls, and look at the map(where secret walls are in another color), enemies will get a new objective - survive!
I tried to play it but somehow I'm super tall and I'm touching the ceiling.
It was unplayable.
Maybe I'll give it a try again.
All thats left is "Brutal Return to Danger"
What is the music for Floor 12, Grand Nuremburg Hotel?
i think its music from Raptor Call of Shadows
Don't forget to do the Museum part.
I haven't forgotten the museum. I'll add a playlist for extras and the museum will be included within.

It's the only unfair fight in the game, I think. I save-scummed like crazy throughout the fight. Not sure I could ever beat that robot without saving
M1 Garand 🤤
Great mod but I find the long weapon reload times and seemingly lack of ammo to be so frustrating
How to install brutal wolfenstein v7 in windows 10 ??

We need brutal versions of the
Mission packsm
I can’t think of another game where dogs are killed.
Will you do the bonus levels?
Maybe. As for when, I have no idea.
Mk.
Awesome, doom demons.
Oof, this looks rough with filtering on…
