Just wanted to leave a note of thanks for the excellent tutorials. SketchUp is sometimes harder than it looks and it pays to study some excellent tutorials such as yours.

I saw all your podcasts in one week, and feel like an expert now! You sound like the Bob Ross of new times! Only diference is, the things bob did looked easy, but i could not do it, this i can do! Been using the space navigator sinds a few days, but never can't miss that ever again! Thanks verry much!
I just finished a two-week binge watching session -- all 61 videos (to date). I also built an extremely complex model along the way. I was amazed that I learned something new in virtually every video. I will recommend to anyone considering their own Cameron marathon, use the html5 option of watching at 1.5 or even 2x. Cameron is so thorough and easy to understand, that you can actually watch at 2x speed and still grok what he is saying. Thanks Cameron. My friends and family are sick of hearing me tell them what an impression job you did with this series, but its true.
One interesting idea is to group the final versions of each layout and put each of those groups in their own layers. Then you can overlap the two in the same space and toggle back and forth between the two versions.
When my mother had to move to a smaller apartment I measured her furniture and made a relatively accurate floor plan of the new space (based on measurements I took at the new location). I didn't model her furniture, I just made boxes that represented their dimensions. Once I had a possible arrangement for her to look at, I just replaced the boxes with some generic furniture models from 3D warehouse and scaled them to fit the boxes. With just a few tweaks she was happy with the proposed arrangement. The next morning we started by only moving the furniture I used in the model (we were fortunate that the move was only a few blocks away, so there was lots of time to change our plan if we had to). Even I was surprised by how well it worked (my mother thought it was some sort of nerdy witchcraft! ;) and we saved so much time and effort (and my back!) by not even moving 40% of her furniture, which we sold or gave away and let other people do the lifting! I used this method again at my own house before buying new furniture making shopping much easier as there was no speculation about what would fit.
Hello Mr. Harris - I miss your videos (I learned SketchUp by watching your thorough and well-paced tutorials). I guess you're probably "over" Sketchup now (hope all is well with you and yours and your University experience), I was hoping you'd do a tutorial modeling a house using Vertical Elevations (import front/rear/side elevations, scale them and trace to model a house). It sure would be nice if you'd do this for us loyal fans of yours. Happy trails!
