- It is now possible to save, to download certain portions of Apple Maps that will be used later on even without an internet connection. This is a new feature coming in iOS 17 but I'm already showing you how it works right now.
Hope you found this video valuable.

This would be super helpful because I do need this for work
BAD TITLE. This claims to show you how to "Use" offline maps, but it doesn't. All he does is show you how to "download" them. I put my iPhone on airplane mode and cannot figure out how to find or use the downloaded map. He needs to correct the title of this video to match what it's truely about.
Exactly, the reason I clicked on it.
Why won’t Apple just let users download by country or by city?
That would be smart not gonna lie
Maybe I am doing something wrong. I downloaded area of my country, when I’m offline I can’t just tap an address, which is in downloaded area. With google I can download same area, tap address and google shows me route. Question is, am I doing something wrong or Apple Maps at this point can’t do this?
FINALLY
It's all well and good to have the offline map. Now try and use it to navigate, and you'll soon see that you wont be able to do it
If you don't have Wi-Fi or satellite reception in a remote area (like Yellowstone or any other remote area) or if Maps is acting erratically (New York City because of all the tall buildings and multiple signals is a perfect example of when Maps will acct erratically, change directions, etc), this is a great feature. I haven't tried it yet but have used Google Maps offline. When I use Google Maps, I first go into airplane mode to ensure that there is no confusion in the app as to what I want--if I still have a Wi-Fi connection, the downloaded map will not work as expected. Not sure if this is the same with Apple Maps. Try enabling Airplane Mode or disable Wi-Fi and give it another try.
How do you load the downloaded map to use?
First you download the map, then when you are offline (you can try it using flight mode) you search the location you downloaded and you'll see you can use it.
Did you understand?? had the same problem and took me a while to realize how to use it too.
You only showed how to dload a map, not how to use?

Ios 17 ok ich würde noch warten.
How come I don’t have an option for offline maps?
@aminoramos9815 00:10 he literally explains it you right in the beginning
Whats you ios version?
Your not using public beta 17 or developer beta 17…
Apple is a bit slow, but you can do it around Christmas… 😜
iOS 17 only
My version is 16.6 now can not download offline for Maui due to lack of internet coverage to the whole island
Why do you need maps offline??
If you travel in a country without a service plan, if you have no internet (bad coverage in an area)…
I drove trough a big city recently and by the time Apple maps loaded in the map properly and calculated the route i missed two exists. I opened google maps with my offline maps and ut was basically instant
