I was a Technics main dealer in London for many years. They made brilliant products and I sold a huge amount. I still have a Technics RS1506 reel to reel recorder.
I'm no expert but to me the best recording medium was a reel to reel tape recorder. I don't know what exists in modern digital music but i've still got my old Sony deck.
I have a Technics Audio Rack System I ordered/bought in 1999. Still have it today, sounds awesome. I've owned several Technics stereos for other rooms of my house too, and they're fantastic. :)
Yeah the Yamaha a-s3200 at $7500 is made in Malaysia. Not that it’s a bad place, but you’d think Yamaha could afford it charging that premium and provide that good feeling of quality for their fans.
Very Interesting!!!! I am a huge fan of Technics-(Panasonic). One of the greatest Brands in the history of Audio. Almost 30 years ago I bought my first real stereo system at a local audio store. I bought the system piece by piece as I saved up the money for each piece and put away money every week until I had enough for my dream Technics Stereo Component system. I still have it to this day and it sounds just as amazing now as it did when I first saw it at the Stereo Showroom. It is still going strong and works perfectly and I use it every day just about. That is High Quality. The Science Of Sound. Technics!!!!
Technics stereo system, amazing specially the rack components systems, i bought mine in 1992 with Technics intergrated Amplifier SUG_91along with Technics 4way speaker system Sba 34, amazing sound quality till this day. I also fell in love with Technics 30 years ago. I still love the name but too sad they are not around anymore. The science of sound still lives on in our memories forever.
Technic is synonymous with high quality audio gears. I started out with a basic receiver and worked a whole summer in a factory for an SL-7, which I still have to this day.
I love much Technics and its technology, I own and collect many products of the house including several pairs SB-M01 audiophile speakers, but my greatest love is for turntables; half a dozen SL 1000 MK2 turntables, several cartridges and tonearms (EPA 100 and 500) plus a few SL 10s, all perfectly preserved, functioning and serviced that I use alternately
I was a Technics main dealer in central London for many years. I still own a Technics SP10 Mk 2 and an RS1506 reel to reel recorder. I have other bits of Technics equipment as well and it still works brilliantly. Formerly Teletape London.

Technics I'm late to the party but have owned many Technics components over the years, most were excellent. However I miss the incredible build quality of those Technics high end products built in the 70s and 80s in Japan. Thanks for the memories Panasonic!
I have a 1974 SU-9600 preamp and SE-9600 power amp, (a beast), also a 1977 or 1978 ST-9030 FM tuner and SH-9010 equalizer, all original unmodified, without a need of service, and I refuse to get something newer (that would be a downgrade).
big fan of Technics since the 90s and have fully specced full sized audio with 2 sea 1000 bi-amped , sound processor , tape deck , cd deck , tuner and limited edition gold plated turntable with QED silver ann cable mated to Mission speakers , on a glass tower optimum 2000 stand -now over 20 years old and as audio as good as new set up
My father got suv9 in 80s before I was born. Used it all his life. I use them now too. Phenomenal power absolutely stunning and beautiful SOUND signature
Now give us an automatic turntable like the SL-B3 in 2020 for $300 and dominate the market with a superior product line again! I bought a SL-B3 in 1980 and had it many years. Absolutely perfect for a mid level hi-fi system in the day, and something that just does not seem to exist new any more.
They like their analog meters, seeing that huge stereo power meters on the power amplifier component and the smaller one on the amplifier component, and on open reel and cassette decks
My father got suv9 in 80s before I was born. Used it all his life. I use them now too. Phenomenal power absolutely stunning and beautiful SOUND signature
I had a full Technics setup through the 90's. Sadly my 2 receivers perished and had to get Denon since during that time period I was looking was when Technics was pretty much non-existent except used. I did get them repaired but they broke again. I just wish they would come out with some affordable consumer gear again for my audio needs.
Technics was always known for being affordable. I hope they make some affordable gear for those new to the audiophile world. A lot of young people are giving their earbuds a break and just discovering the loud speaker. I also hope technics makes a hd tuner with Bluetooth. They always made great separate tuners like the STS-6, and the STS-8.
But now, there aren't that much affordable high-end technics products anymore. I was just a child 'back then' but the price of my current 90's technics tower sure would've scared the living sh*t out of most potential buyers.
Que pasó con Technics? No se ha visto nunca mas productos nuevos, al menos no en argentina. Hasta finales de los 90 habia muchos con plata que tenian equipos technics de primera clase A
Probably due to the serious financial problems Panasonic was in for several years. They probably needed to discontinue it to cut costs and save money. The good news is that Panasonic has undergone restructuring and is both doing well now and has brought the Technics brand back. I went to the Panasonic center in Osaka a month ago, and there is a whole little section just for Technics products
They sure skipped something from 1992 to 2000 and that was because they were just not the same company in that period opting to make more low to mid end equipment. I should know; I worked for them in that time period. Nice to see them back to being what they should have kept doing all that time.
@@ivok9846 Ok... good point. I admit they are being a bit extreme right now especially the turntables being offered. However, back in that 1992 to 2000 time frame, they were just making stuff that wasn’t even close to being competitive with other brands in respect to features and build quality. Their AV Receivers were a great example of the cost cutting and I always preferred any other brand than Technics.

Technices A noble company, but unfortunately the authorized agent did not care about its sales, which made the parent company withdraw the license from the agent in my country and this was a year as I mentioned in 1980 or 1988, I still have a group of its most luxurious products I have at home,I love technices
Charlex Barrison Actually in Europe and other places it was called National/Panasonic both names were used and Technics was sold under Technics by National/Panasonic there.
Though Technics were appealing to the masses and were of great build quality they were never true HiFi. Before I knew better, I thought they were the best. Once I discovered Audiolab, Mission and other British manufacturers I quickly changed my mind.
The speakers have never appealed to me but some of the solid state stuff was sensational. Technics did go through a black plastic era in the late 1980's. Specifications were good but the sonic performance not so much. I still have a pair of 1984 SU-V4X integrated amps and I can't fault 'em.
