Good stuff guys!! Definitely a critical adjustment! I run mine a little higher for rock crawling and deep rutted trails I ride! I have your dual rate spring kit for my XX! Works great at 15.5” rear 16” front!
I have always wondered why you don't just give a measurement of exposed shock shaft to measure rather than having to measure the tires and such to get a ride height?
That would be a better way but you can’t measure it properly with the coil spring, divider and sometimes a raised spring perch. We had more issues with customers and bent tape measures that way.
When measuring the front X3 I am confused by adding or subtracting an inch. Vid states that the location is an inch lower than the optimal measuring point but he states to subtract an inch from measurement to determine ride height. Wouldn't you need to add an inch to determine ride height? If the tape says 13.5" then my current ride height would be 14.5" and I adjust preload based on that?
I have the same lift and wondered the same thing. I just adjusted my ride height and I'm at 17 1/4" in the front now. It was 18". I might bring it down a little more even yet.
I have an 2021 X3 max DS TURB R, I have been struggling to fig out the correct ride height. It's pretty low. I have been watching most of your videos trying to educate myself. I guess I need to see how to fig out ways and adjustments in person. I'm a hands on visual learner!
It’s only an issue if it’s too much all the time. This only happens if your ride height is too high. If you follow our guidelines you won’t have an issue. But let’s assume you didn’t. If you ran your UTV 2” or more above our recommended heights then the cvs would run hotter. If you run your car harder than most the that heat will continue until the boots expand like a balloon and melt causing cv failure. If your UTV is too high but you drive slow (mud) it’s not an issue. If your height is correct abd you drive hard or race it’s not an issue.
How about lowering the ride height for better cornering and more plush / comfortable ride? I have a rzr 1000 s with fox podium 2.0 and think they are way to stiff even at softest click. I had same car with walker evans and they were a dream very plush and confortable, everytime i needed it i just adjusted the stiffness with the clicks.
Ride height is tricky. Lower it and rail corners. Yes. But depending on the shocks you can run the piston in the wrong zone internally. Lowering can make it stiff. Raising can make it soft. Opposite from common sense I know. Most of the plush or stiffness is inside the shock combined with a ride height choice. Not a simple thing. Great question.
I have a 2020 General 2 non XP, factory said it was supposed to be 12 front and back. Never could get there almost maxing out the shock adjustment with No one in the car. I am ordering your shocks, but have already added 4" bracket lift, arched A-arms and went with 15" rims with 32" TR tires.....that's too much math to figure out.
Why wouldnt we measure control arm angle instead of ride height since there are so many variables such as tire squish surface and other things that could affect ride height?
Your right. But aftermarket control arms make this hard. Also one degree of are agile can be a lot of ride height. Not a good measuring way fir the average customer. Shock length is best but also hard to get right with a tape measure
I have a 2019 CanAm Maverick Sport XRC, that has the Shock Therapy duel-rate springs that was purchased and adjusted by one of your dealers. Can you tell me what the ride height should be, as well as the cross-over adjustment?
13.5” front. 13” rear. XOvers are 1” gap between bottom of XO and top of spring divider. Rear is 2”. Look up outer install vid on your spring kit fir all the details too 👍
Is the turbo s different than what you went over today because those are not what I was told when I got my RIS. Was told 16f -15.5r car on, in soft mode with passenger weight in car
With regards to a 2021 can-am XDS x3 max...with those base height numbers....is that in a safe zone to keep axle CV boot temps in a happy place? Also on the front measurement location, you said to subtract an inch but since its lower then the real location??? Is it not more accurate to say it is 1 inch higher which is why you subtract an inch?
At our ride height numbers your CVS will be fine. We race them there. Fir a more accurate location description check out our spring kit installation video fir your XDS. Max. Or any X3 install vid. FF to the end and check your locations in detail 👍
@@ShockTherapyllc both front and back ride heights. Camera doesn't get close to either, and the description is vague and quick. In the front it says bottom of rear a arm mount, but that could be interpreted a few different ways and if 1/2" of ride height makes a big difference it should be specific. Same with the back, specifically where do you measure to??? Bottom of radius rod mount or actual bottom of skid plate. Both will give different readings. This is where written directions with detailed pictures would be much more helpful than a RUclips video

Mitch says "2 inches is a big deal" I've been trying to tell the Ladies that for years.

What about measuring on a Yxz?

At 20:44 in the timeline are you measuring that round shape on the frame from ground to top, center or bottom of it?
Bottom of it.
So a xp w/ 32” tires. 15 F
14 1/2 R it has a 3” lift and high clearance A rams. So I should be looking at 16 1/2 F And 16 R Is that correct

Watch one of our spring kit instal videos for your UTV. It will help you a lot
@@ShockTherapyllc will do for sure. 👍🏼
What shut be the ride high on Yamaha yxz 2017 with 30" tires???
When increasing ride height does it give it negative camber ?
Yes but not much and depends on the UTV if you could even measure the change or not
can you collapse spring too much when trying to achieve ride height
Stock springs yes. Our spring kits no.

Remove the bracket lift and go with our notes. Just add your tire height change. Should be about 15”

Are the ride height measurements the same for a 64" X3 xmr?
All 64 are the same👍

Because i ear the spring work a lot on tight bump and rocks is it because the spring are too tight ?

16-15.5 is correct for a Turbo S. 👍

What if you’re adjusting ride height on stock suspension on an older car ? should I do that with everyone in the car
You should do that with an average of people weight you run
Hey guys i just watched your tool video. Check out a rastal miners wrench for your hammer/adjustable wrench
Pro Xp video is too vague on where to measure off of. You should update video with more time spent on exactly where you're supposed to measure from...
Which specific measurements are you referring to? That way we can give you a more detailed answer.
