We flew China southern in 2018, from Amsterdam-Guangzhou-Melbourne and back.
This year we flew them from Amsterdam-Guangzhou-Kualalumpur
I have to say, after 5 years they are still one of the best airlines for the price, I will always fly them if they are an option. I mean, hot towels in economy?
I flew on them when they still had the los angless to shenyang route, it felt like a typical airline but before decent they have a thankyou speech from the crew witch i have never seen from any other airlines ive flown on

I love Chinese airlines. The background music, the newspapers in the jet bridge, people speaking Mandarin and even Cantonese... Just perfect :D

When my dad was in China on buisness about 10 years ago he met the General Manager of relations (or something) of China Southern.. and got Free first class ticket on his way home xD

I was impressed by the really genuine and friendly greeting, the cute air fresheners in the restrooms and how young this plane is!!
Me too! In 2018 we flew this route when we went to australia, so it must've been a brand new plane.
In 2 months we're on this same route again to guangzhou, but they're using an a350 on it now.

Last year I flew from Nairobi to changsha on a pratt powered A330-200, I had low expectations but they were exceeded! There was plenty of food (like two hot meals) and the flight attendants were friendly and attentive, passing through the cabin often, conducting snack and beverage services between meals, the IFE was fairly extensive with lots of movies and music, too many for an 11 hour flight 😁, and the plane itself (A330-200) was comfortable, especially the configuration 2-4-2👌🏽 all in all I enjoyed my experience with China Southern, I was positively surprised.
I need to do a long flight to NZ in the near future. Have never flown with China Southern. It all looks pretty good. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

My chair was broken (couldn’t get a new one full flight no biggie)
In flight entertainment was also unresponsive (but yet again full flight)
The food was ok back then nothing like what I saw in this video(the food was literal mush back then)
They did offer a bit extra because the inconvenience that was good.
So I’m glad to see that they upgraded and I will definitely be trying them again.

Great Video ! The reason you got an amenity kit is that CZ only provides them for the first two rows passengers for each economy class section, so it was lucky for you to have one! For rear rows flight attendants will not give out these bags at first place, but you can still get one by asking them. I m a frequent flyer of CZ, hope these tips can help you :)

Looks to me like a better-than-average Economy flight! The food appeared to be quite appetizing, the seating was good and the IFE seemed to be responsive.
A post-pandemic review of them would be awesome since they are currently offering some very competitive fares on routes to Asia :D

Been to Guangzhou. The passport control was conducted in a hanger and we were herded into departures by guards. The departures had no TV and only one snack bar open. Never again.
Well everything was fine, the airport was pleasant and all the shops and cafes were opened. I had five hours to wait until my next flight but the time went fast. Cant wait to go there again on my way back but this time i am staying in a hotel as i have 15 hours to wait for my London flight. A great experience!
Oh and the passport control was fine, no problem at all.

I’ve flown on this exact flight! Shocker is how fast it gets dark! Oh and WiFi - yes but restricted! I had no problem with the films! Huge choice! Being a big kid I watched A Christmas Carol and Hotel Transylvania 3! A lot of people moan - I thought it wasn’t that bad! Yeah the big problem with Schipol 30 mins taxi out to take off! Huge airfield! I flew in November! - I’d always go Chinese on China Air! I also prefer this route to via Paris! I agree! 2 hot meals! I got those kits too! Very Chinese! The airport at Guangzhou is a bit scary! But I got through safely! I recognise that view! Oh good memories! Thanks for posting!

Yes there were. :) Beverage selection is very similar on most flight. Alcoholic beverages were complimentary as well...

Look at this airport soo coool. Other hand JFK sometimes there elevators or escalators sometimes both dont work.
What I love about simply aviation is that they show what the average persons flight experience would be. Not extravagant first class videos that are not helpful and are just to show off money.
