  • At last it is finally here, a new wardrobe video! It might be February, but it's here.
    I was going to add detail shots to this but left them off as I don't think the editing software would be able to handle it, it was struggling quite a bit as it was lol. I might make a sneaky part 3 for the detail close ups though who knows.
    Part two will likely be a while, after I had such a nightmare editing this I can only assume it will be the same with part two, but I will get it out!
    Apologies for the janky sound throughout, I used a new camera and didn't know it would sound so fuzzy, and I'm not a professional youtuber so I do not own a fancy mic for videos.
    Also apologies for the slight editing mishap in the BTSSB Rose Gobelin JSK section and IW Velveteen Tiered JSK section, I thought I'd completely fixed that but I guess not. And tbh I am too tired to fix it again and go through the hour+ rendering for the THIRD time.
    When I tell you everything that could have gone wrong while editing this did I'm not lying, making this was an ordeal lol. Hopefully part 2 goes better.
    I hope you enjoy this video!
    ------------------------------------------------------
    The background music is the Animal Crossing Wild World hourly soundtrack.

    I'm so happy you decided to do a wardrobe tour again, i absolutely love your style! One day i'd love to have a wardrobe as amazing and curated as yours.
    For the green velvet jsk, you could sew in those hanger straps (like the thin satin straps often found in tops and dresses, i don't know what they`re called in english) so you can hang it without damaging the velvet or stretch out the elastic!

    I just want to say real quick as a black transmasc who has always been in love with lolita fashion (having participated in it as well at an earlier stage in my life) but felt very uncomfortable wearing it in public over time, you’ve helped me so much regain my confidence in wearing lolita out again (specifically the old school style of sweet and goth) I appreciate your existence so much! ❤

    3:29 Avina-kei does restoration projects on their Ko-Fi. You might find some benefit from that content. Because of the work they do it's behind a paywall but they're definitely very skilled at this process. I have my own process but I'd have to see the stains and know what caused them to figure it out (and I'm not as familiar with UK cleaning products, sorry)
    11:33 A dryer static sheet will stop wig flyaways or light dewrinkle spray. Long wigs misbehave really easily.

    With your AP Velveteen Heart Cut out jsk, store it flat in a dress box, ideally with acid free tissue paper. It should save it from any fabric stress and fading :)

  • @leeapocrypha
    @leeapocrypha 8 месяцев назад +1

    I have a recommendation for hanging your AP heart cutout jsk.. I hang my BTSSB velveteen babydoll jsk inside out with a pant hanger (that has a flat grip, NOT one with teeth or parts that stick out for more grip) where the straps meet the bodice.. I am afraid of the velveteen rubbing off since I used to hang another velveteen jsk inside out (to reduce the gathering of dust or other little things), and it ended up rubbing off a tiny bit on the velveteen at the strap.. So I recommend a gentle (strong enough to hold your dress sturdily, but gentle enough to not have a death grip over your dress either) pant hanger (again, one that has a flat grip) and the dress inside out (so more of the direct pressure is on the lining and not velveteen). You could also put some paper pieces over the part of the dress you will hang, and between the clamp parts to reduce direct contact too. Hope it made sense and helps! :3
    Also, your wardrobe is one of my favorites! I honestly watched your last wardrobe post many times~

    I have had pretty good luck steaming pleather! If you steam it from the back/inside it works better, because the back tends to be more fabric-like.

    what a lovely closet tour! I have a headdress in that deep pink velveteen that you have a skirt in, I've never seen a main piece in that fabric before! : O I've won the headdress in a raffle and it's the first egl piece I've ever owned, it doesn't match anything in my wardrobe but I don't wanna get rid of it bc of the sentimental value, maybe I'll try to hunt down a skirt like yours but then again I never see them around :")

    When you say tide stains, do you mean Tide detergent? Also, is that velveteen rayon or polyester? If you can tell me a little more about what happened and the piece I can pass it on to my friend who used to do laundry professionally for a theater.

    • @lady_sir_knight3713

      The Tartan Check Heart Pocket jsk is exactly the sort of dress I think of when I think about old school. That with long bloomers and peter pan blouse that's probably from a mainstream store? Basically straight out of FRUITS. As for the Heart Cutouts jsk, I would say in a drawer with tissue paper between the layers. And I would say don't be afraid to wear cream with white, you can treat it like wearing different shades of any other color, you just have to balance it.

    • @CynicalNeoPrincessism
      @CynicalNeoPrincessism  7 месяцев назад

      No not tide detergent, I mean tide marks from water/dye. It's a cotton velveteen according to the label. Thank you!
