I've always preferred Hanoi over HCMC due to its unique appearance with the lakes, the old and French architecture, the parks and its unique history of having survived countless wars. HCMC are similar to other large SE Asian cities with its Western style so it, and they, really don't seem special to me. Just my personal opinion as someone who is from a Western country. I love Hanoi's old, dark, narrow dodgy looking alleys leading to beautiful special cafes inside was very cool.
Yup they are very different city but both are unique. Hanoi overall, maintains its traditional look and vibes, while HCMC still has old preserved historical sites like the Independence Palace, Opera House etc, together with modern and skyscrapers buildings. Don't forget the Vietnamese food also, both offer amazing flavors!
HCMC or any Southern cities do not have traditional Vietnamese architecture, not because they are modernized but because Vietnam only expanded to the South in the 18th century so they are relatively new places. In the South you will find architecture of native people who used to live there such as Cambodians, Champans and other ethnic groups
@@Lol-ok9kl good to know about this facts! 🥰
@Rebecca Matthews yes i quite envy the seasons in Northern VN, South can get really, like all year round 🔥 🥵
@Rebecca Matthews are still here in Vietnam? good to know this tips, i've never been to the northern part of Hanoi, i have doubts that i can travel there, given that it's mostly greeneries, mountainous etc 😮💨
Thank you for this tour of Hanoi! Really enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed it, the pleasure's mine! 🥰
the embassy building is very pretty
some of the buildings in Hanoi are quite nice, this is one thing that stuck out to me when I visited
Hey there! Yup, most embassies in Hanoi are located in French quarter, that's why most buildings have Gothic architectural design. Hanoi's actually impressive on preserving it too.
In fact, the old town or French quarter area was very large in the past. But 70% was destroyed in bombing battles from B52 aircraft during the Vietnam War.
A refreshing introduction to Hanoi. Thanks.
thank you so much! 🥰
Even being a Hanoian, I fall in love again with Hanoi through your video. Wish you have great time !!
i would love to visit again in Hanoi, it's still slightly lockdown last year, i envy some foreign travelers enjoying their time in Hanoi this year 🥲. Glad that you liked this video, and yes so far im having a great time here in HCMC, though it's really hot in here, all year. 🔥 🥵
I love Hanoi💕 we went there back in 2017 for a short trip, hope we can get explore other parts of Vietnam soon! great channel Ena, keep uploading videos
Great! Have a great trip
Much appreciated my friend!
Your videos are always put together well.
Can't wait to visit Hanoi and try their food. :) thanks to your vlog about Hanoi.
the pleasure's mine! i hope you visit Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh City too!
I’m new here, and love the no nonsense style of filming.
Good work Ena and Leo 👍
Hi Drew, it's like we don't know what we're doing and where we're going at that time, cause most shops/tourist spots were closed before in Hanoi, there's subtle restrictions, i mean.Glad u still liked it. 😅
Hanoi is beautiful and ancient Vietnam really, The North and the South are like two different countries to foreigners from architecture, culture, climate, people, and food.
Hello. I am a Vietnamese and living in Ho Chi Minh City. But I prefer Hanoi too. Have fun 😍👍
Hi Eddy! it's a tough choice, but i maybe a little biased, since i have been living here in Saigon for 3 yrs, so far im still happy here. But i would love to visit Hanoi again when covid cases settle, i only visited few places! Thanks for being in this channel, have a great day!
Hi Ena and the other significant of you! Welcome to VN and I wish you will have a wonderful time and great memories of VN as if you are living in the Philippines.
Thank you 😃 Liem! i really like it here in VN, i have so much to learn & places to explore. i am lucky & grateful always.
i love this video, i'm chilling!!!
Cảm ơn! Glad you liked it! 💛
Hanoi has many beautiful places to visit and delicious food. Hope to see you again in Hanoi in the not too distant future :D
Yes, definitely! Especially now that we're going back to normal, i would love to give it another try. I missed to visit a lot of places there, since i went there last December 2021 and Hanoi wasn't fully reopened yet.i agree i loved the food, cold weather and people too, they have different accent, i noticed. 🤔🤔😊😊
Leo was pretending to be sick.... he didn't want to take photos of you all over the place. That is why he only came out during dinner :D Joking. Really enjoyed your video and hope you do more cities.
HAHAHA! hmmm we have to talk about it! Didn't double checked though! you have a point there, we really have some discussion to make hehehe. Glad you enjoyed this video, we do hope also to explore more of VN, and also no lockdowns in the future. any suggestion? 😙

Hi Ms Ena. Travelling to Hanoi this August
OMG! excited for u Carren April, how many days are u spending in VN?
glad to see you visit my hometown
glad to see you here also! ☺
Hanoi is one of a kind! Loved the well-preserved colonial buildings, street food scenes & cultural sites to explore!
Yeah, as you see. There is not much to do in Hanoi as in Manilla or in the Philippines ( I have never been to the Philippines but I imagine there would be more activities). Yeah, eating and chitchating. That's what we like to do in Hanoi😄
I would love to visit the Philippines in future. Especially Palawan 🤤
@@bchow6504 Palawan has the best beach in Philippines, hope u can visit! Specially in Coron, Palawan white sand clean beach ⛱ seafood 👍👌
I love the French vibes

Thanks 🎉🎉
I think I need to add Hanoi to my Vietnam itinerary haha
highly recommended! which city you wanna visit anyway?
@@enafrancia hello! I will visit HCM 2nd week of October. I also commented your other 24 hr Saigon vlog. ☺️
Mik cảm thấy khuôn mặt bạn có một chút giống người Việt Nam😁🥰
vâng, tôi bị nhầm là người Việt Nam ... hàng ngày! hahaha
You look so cute in short hair ❤️👍
Hi. Is there available day tour to Halong Bay? If yes, where can we book?
600K sounds about right for your seafood dinner. Ốc hương (sweet snail), Mực sữa (milk squid ?! lol) and Hàu (Oyster) are quite expensive.
Good to hear that! This really bothered me for few days since street food doesn't have menu, so i wouldn't really know if they're charging us fairly. maybe i'm used to prices here in HCM, it's a bit lower. Thanks Tuấn Mập can sleep in peace now, i have closure now with Hanoi seafood hehehe
@@enafrancia you are eating the food in the old town. Those places are for foreign tourists, so most of the prices are quite high, 3 4 5 times higher than the normal price. We will not eat in the city center if we go to eat.
@@mayoau8518 yes i ate in the city center, where to eat cheaper vietnamese food? Or any street food? 🤔🤔
@@enafrancia If you want to eat cheap food, avoid central areas like Hoan Kiem, West Lake, Ba Dinh... Those areas will be twice or 3 times more expensive than other places. The rest are cheaper places. If you want to eat street food or go to places belonging to Vietnamese universities, for example "Bách- Kinh-Xây" stands for the streets around 3 Vietnamese universities. Hanoi University or Hanoi National University. Around here, there are quite a lot of street food and the price is quite cheap, suitable for students

@@mayoau8518 thanks for the info, i wasn't aware at all, i was hoping that there's a night market also in the city center, but last December there wasn't. What's are typical hanoian street foods? sorry i ask a lo, but yea I'll definitely take your advise when i visit Hanoi again
Hi... Am going to Hanoi next week.. Was wondering if I can bring PhP and exchange it there or is it better to bring US$ instead..Thanks
any suggestion on what card to be added if you don't have CC on AIRBNB? since they don't accept your Debit savings mastercard
I want also travel here
Definitely! Great choice to kickstart your travel in Vietnam 🇻🇳 👌 they have the best egg coffee ☕ 😋
Chả cá makes me hungry
totally agree with u, we were so eager to find one of the best restaurant that offers Chả cá, guess we hit the jackpot! The dish was moist, flavorsome & unique.🤤
How will be the weather in January in hanoi
Nice video po! How cold po ng december sa Hanoi? Thinking of what to wear when we get there.
around 15 °C po kapag gabi, then 20°C po sa umaga. parang mala Baguio po
@@enafrancia thanks po!!
How was the weather? I notice light clothing but also winter jackets 😭😭
heyyy, this was during December, it's cold for me, the temp at night hits 15°C and 20°C daytime. there's winter season in topmost are of Vietnam btw
aaa ahahahaha, why don't you visit Sapa, Ninh Binh and Ha Long bay. Those are exactly the most beautiful places in North Vietnam.
hey there! yea i regret also not exploring more especially Sapa, some viet friends recommend it also. anyway, it's still difficult to travel because of pandemic (plus i also do work from home on some days while staying in there eheheh). But yeah I keep in mind your recommendations! I would love to go back, thanks for all your suggestions, i appreciate it. ❤❤❤❤
👍👌💖
🥰😍☺ thank uuu!
Hello, planning to go there in December HCM, Da Nang then Christmas in Hanoi, how’s the weather there especially in Hanoi during December? Thank you 😊
it's a pleasant weather during December, overall cooler and dry, less chance of rain! Hanoi is a great choice during this time, you'll definitely love it there Dora!
you should bring a jacket, because the temperature in late December in northern Vietnam is always around or below 13 degrees Celsius and it is very cold at night. It is very suitable for a Christmas celebration. Welcome to Vietnam from a Hanoi IT engineer
Thank you Ena 🙂 will surely watch your vlogs about Vietnam and also to Tin, Im gonna bring cold weather clothes for Christmas 🙂
Christmas. cold clothing FOR SURE
Is buncha sweet? Ayoko kasi ng matamis unless its a dessert

Hello ena of the Philippines. You are not working in Vietnam as a nurse, are you? There are many Filipino nurses living in the United States which took over the rule of the Phillipines (named after King Philip of Spain) in the Spanish-American War. Before that, a contingent of Spanish Filipinos joined with the French in the seizure of the citadel of Gia Dinh (today Ho Chi Minh City). The history of French Saigon begins right after this event.
Also, during the American War in Vietnam. the Philippines (Roman Catholic) made a propaganda movie about what life would be like under a Communist regime. What an irony, as you are a witness of the Truth. Yet many overseas Vietnamese political refugees refuse to accept the reality of Ho Chi Minh sincere intentions back then. Let them watch your videos.
