I'm usually building armor stuff, but when it comes to aircrafts, I have to admit I'm become addicted to Bf-109 Messerschmit ... and as far as I know Eduard are some of the best kits for this model. Thank you so much for this video.
The 109 is such a good looking aircraft, and eduard imo make the best, not as easy to build as tamiya but not far off. Either wingsy or dora have made some early 109s lately and they look very nice
This is the first video of yours I have watched. Can I thank you for taking the huge amount of time and trouble to make these films for our entertainment. I feel inspired to make a model or two and cannot wait to get to the model shop! Thanks again, looking forward to seeing more of your work....
I found this quite absorbing at the end of a working week. It's winter in the southern hemisphere, so some modelling may get done; your guidance is very useful.
Great work! I am currently building the Eduard 1/48 Bf-109G-6 [late] kit and it is a very impressive model kit. Btw, the Bf-109 actually DID have a rear fuselage centerline seam.
This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched and I must say I’m impressed. Very good footage, music not overpowering, your voice was really well spoken and everything described in great detail. New subscriber. 😊👍👍👍👍

lpj models i am already looking forward to them! Usually I get tired or bored by modeling videos except from a couple of users on RUclips, but your work truly keeps me entertained 😎 thanks!
Very nice build ! But I do have a question concerning the sand filter. Why was it needed on Finnish plane ? Airfields in Finland so dusty it needed one ?
@@lpjmodels Seems I was kinda right, apperently Finns used filters because once the ground defrosted after winter, their airfields were literally transformed to dust.
This was great. More videos like this please. I really need help with oily pain weathering. When you remove the washes, do you use anything on the cotton bud, or just bare?
I've watched a few of your builds & I'm amazed at how well & real you make these models look . You literally bring them to life. I will be watching all of your builds. I'm curious to know what you call a wet coat. You were describing your paint technique on the cockpit and you said paint it in wet coats. What are you referring . Plz keep up your great builds / videos
why put another layer of aqua gloss on top of the decals and then matt varnish? Wouldn't the matt varnish alone be enough to protect them? Sorry, I am new to this scale modeling hobby and trying to learn.
Really you can use matt varnish and sand the carrier film smooth, the gloss I have been using to blend the carrier film in more, ( even though the eduard decals are nice and thin ) and prepare for a wash.
just found your channel and also watched your ArmaModels 1/72 Hurricane... both are very nice builds. Got a question: what is your reason for using Mission Models acrylic paint?
Thanks Bennet, I happened across mission models paint when doing an article for a magazine, up until then I had been using tamiya and mig paints, with tamiya I always got texture on the wing roots from the paint bouncing off one surface and planting itself on another, and tbr mig paints even after copious clear coats were affected by oil washes. The mission models paints I trialled were quite surprising, after some practice and getting to know the ins and outs of the paint it is one of my favourite acrylics to use, it sprays well, atomizes well, and is fairly hardy. I still use other brands as well, these are just my favourite so far,
Interestingly I've just noticed the colour names James. RLM also being ReichsLuftMinisterie.. the German equivalent of the British Air Ministry.. coincidence? Are they all prefixed RLM or just the Luftwaffe colours? Great choice James! Did the Finns use them in the Winter War against the USSR? Just wondered as the Molotov-Ribbentrop (Non Aggression) Pact was still in effect. I would ask what have you done to your thumb, but as it's five years ago you probably don't remember *lol*
A great enjoyable instructive Video, I enjoyed the Guitar musak, and I agree with others, why put so much effort and detail into the cockpit and the partially hide it by not adapting and fitting an open canopy?
I just found your videos. Great work on this 109! I also use the MMP, they work well. Did you use a different dillution for the normal painting and for the fine lines (for ex :black basing )?
Great video, thanks. Nevertheless the marking on this plane is wrong and they are not on the fuselage ceter line as they should. Instead of having MT-232 it must be MT-230 representing 2nd flight in Finghter Squadron 28 in July 1944 at Värtsilä AB. The plane came strait from factory repair and so the "shy" weathering in just correct. Nice work!
Jukka thankyou and well spotted. The original 230 decal Silvered horribly and had to be removed . Unfortunately there were no spare 0's on the sheet so I had to make do. I was a bit disappointed when this happened because of the historical accuracy issue . Unfortunately these thing happen . Thanks for watching!
Stunning build. Why didn't you sand the mould lines off the beautifully painted exhaust ? My second favourite aircraft of all time. Sadly only 3 flying now, 2 in A-merica and one in the UKofGB. Fantastic video.
@Gail Raby 😂 they are supposed to be on the exhausts they are weld lines you should check up on things before posting smart ass comments like saying "OK we'll call them that" he called them that because that's what they are.
lpj models i actually got it a day or two ago and i took it out the box and im so used to airfix and revel kits that i was amazed to see no excess plastic on any parts, im still debaiting on wether to put the figures on it or not
Ive also just gotten a compressor that actually works so ive been playing around with its air pressure and gotten it just right, first paint is being used tommorow (hopefully)
Cant Fault tamiyas consistency at all !. The big problem with Airfix and Revell are the constant reboxings of very old kits ! Some can be built up really nicely but a few of them just need retiring. Their new tools aren't bad at all though !
Thanks Jack. My mic isn't very good on my phone so the music helps to alleviate nasty background noise. Thankyou at least for referring to it as noodling! When I have access to recording again I will write some quieter accompaniments. Many thanks
